2. Reliability- degree of accuracy,

3. Usability- ease in administration,
interpretation and application.

  • 2. Measurement is.. • The process of quantifying individual’s achievement, personality, attributes, habits and skills • The process by which information about the attributes or characteristics of things are determined and differentiated • An operation performed on the physical world by observer
  • 3. Evaluation is… • The making of a judgement about the amount, number, or value of something • A systematic determination of a subject’s merit worth and significance, using criteria governed by a set of standards • Is an appraisal of something to determine its worth or fitness
  • 4. How will the attainment of educational purpose be measured? • Evaluation Scheme is the fourth essential component of a curriculum for assessing the extent to which the educational aims, goals, objectives have been achieved.
  • 5. Evaluation Two important aspects of evaluation: • Evaluation implies a systematic process, a continuous comprehensive process that utilizes a variety of techniques. • Evaluation assumes that instructional objectives have been previously identified. Is a systematic process of determining the extent to which educational objectives are achieved by learners.
  • 6. Test, quizzes & other measuring instruments Testing is a technique of obtaining information needed for evaluation purposes.

  • 11. Characteristics of Good Measuring Instrument 1. Validity- the accuracy with which a test measures whatever it is intended or supposed to measure. 2. Reliability- degree of accuracy, consistency, with which a test measures. 3. Usability- ease in administration, interpretation and application.
  • 12. Table of Specification (TOS) • Is a plan prepared by a classroom teacher as a basis for test construction especially a periodic test. • Is a two-way chart which describes the topics to be covered by the test and the number of items or points which will be associated with each topic.
