I was in the video group, in my group we have difference ideas when it comes to planning. Since we
never took the time to plan or come up with an idea that everyone agrees with. Therefore, since we

There are several areas we can explore in regards to specialization in illustration. These areas
include fashion, advertising, technical, editorial, and medical forms.
Although each of these forms has their own unique characteristics and attributes, the two forms that
I am most interested in are advertising and editorial. For some time in my life I used to believe that
these two forms of illustration generally meant the same thing. I was wrong because there are many
dissimilar characteristics between the two. One of the main differences between advertising and
editorial illustration is that advertising illustration uses all kinds of visual images and has a vast

I chose two books that are about people, but have very different illustrations. The stories are
different. The first book, Stuck is similar to There Once was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly
where the boy has to put lots of objects up into the tree to get his kite unstuck. The second book,

Essay: American Illustration American illustration went through many changes during the 20th
century. There were major trends seen, including Coles Phillips and his "fadeaway" technique. For
me, that was the artist and technique that stood out the most. It piqued my interest, and made me
realize that I had held a very skewed view of what "art" actually was in the past. History, art, and
illustration have all been changed in my mind by taking this class and by learning so much about
illustration. Coles Phillips' technique was so fascinating to me because of his use of negative space
and the way he used beautiful drawings of stylish women on so many popular magazine covers
