2. Personal Info
• My name is Matthew Baker I am an accounting major here at
Grayson.
• I hope to obtain a degree that will lead to great monetary success.
• To achieve this I need to study hard, control my time, and most
importantly too always stay on task.
3. • One of my favorite assignments was the goal setting assignment. This was one of my favorites
because it let set a sort of mark to look forward too. This also gives me something to work
towards in the future. Having my goals set helps me actually work towards them more efficiently.
• Another one of my favorites was the Cognition Principles. This really taught me all the aspects in
learning and studying. It also put into perspective the importance of taking good notes. It made
me realize that I have some weaknesses in my studies.
• My last favorite assignment is putting the principles into practice. This assignment just told you
how to effectively use the skills in the earlier video. If you learn something but don’t learn to
apply it then it does no good. That why this video is one of my favorites.
4. Favorite Journal Entries
• One of my favorite journal entries was journal entry 17. This portrayed how to set up a support system, and
get through obstacles. It also made you list people that could help. I usually keep everything inside so listing
people was very helpful.
• Journal entry 13 was another good one. This made us list out different activities we had done in the past
days. We then analyzed the importance of these activities. I realized how unimportant so much of my day is
and I worked to be more efficient.
• Lastly journal entry 11. This entry we explained one of our goals in life. But while doing this we used our five
senses to show what we would see, hear, smell, etc. This electrified the thought extremely and made you
think deeply into the event.
5. Favorite Module
• I personally liked module 2 the best. It made you put the fault on
yourself. And analyze ones inner critic. I believe if you don’t criticize
yourself and hold yourself accountable then you are setting yourself
up for failure. That is why this was my favorite module.
6. Favorite Lessons
• Three lessons that I will carry over into the next semesters are
studying deeply, and analyzing information deeply. Next, is
distractions when trying to study and how much it can truly effect
ones studying. Lastly, holding yourself accountable for everything in
school, if you done put in the time and manage it well you have no
one to blame but yourself.
7. Self Assessement
• 1. Accepting personal responsibility. 65, 68
• 2. Discovering self-motivation. 72, 75
• 3. Mastering self-management 64, 61
• 4. Employing interdependence 49, 52
• 5. Gaining self-awareness 57, 61
• 6. Adopting lifelong learning 57, 52
• 7. Developing emotional intelligence. 57, 55
• 8. Believing in myself 71, 63
• Through this class I have learned a lot about responsibility and personal responsibility. If you don’t hold yourself
responsible for your studies then you are asking for failure. Too fully succeed in school you have to be able to hold yourself
accountable for your grades and how you obtain those grades for you too succeed.
8. Letter To Next Class
• In my letter to the next class I portrayed that before taking this class I
had no idea that there was different levels of studying. That studying
in a deep way makes your mind remember and learn much more
greatly. I also talked about time management and how much it effects
our studies and success within these studies.
9. Letter To Next Class 2
• Also, in my letter I spoke on how taking this class during your
freshman year in college is important. If you take it during your
freshman year then you actually put to use the skills that you learn. If
you weren’t to take it during your freshman year then it could be
wasted because you have already taken classes and could not
successfully put the information to use.
10. Life Goals
• If I achieved every goal in my life, I would play professional baseball
for as long as possible, hopefully still living in the great state of Texas.
During the offseason I would spend a lot of time hunting in east Texas
where I would have a good amount of land. I would be married with
two kids. Also, being able to buy my mother a nice house to repay all
she has done for me throughout my entire life.
11. Life Goals 2
• After retiring from the great game of baseball, I would obtain my CPA
and work as an accountant in my later years to keep me busy. I would
open up my own business and hopefully one day pass it down to one
of my children. Though if I could not play baseball for long I would go
straight to becoming a CPA and live my life in the eastern part of
Texas.
