ELLE Magazine Publication and Audience Analysis
ELLE Magazine Publication & Audience Analysis
Introduction of Publication. ELLE is a fashion magazine that began in France in 1945 when sellers were transitioning from the sales–oriented era into
the market–oriented era, which is characterized by marketing based on a determined target market and focusing on what consumers want and need.
Adhering to this prevailing notion of the time, ELLE's aspiration to advise females of the latest trends in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and relationships has
satisfied many women's needs and wants by inspiring them to begin a new life after World War II. Targeted User Profile and Audience Dimensions.

act as a positioning statement, it is apparent that Chamilia is appealing to consumers as a company where customers can discover their own
personalized style in jewellery. Through the use of a drawn picture, Chamilia's message through the advertisement is that they can assist their customers
in exercising their creativity and retaining control in painting their own unique world of fashionable jewellery. Furthermore, Chamilia claims this can
be accomplished while maintaining high quality of the resulting piece of jewellery, as indicated in their advertisement by telling consumers that they
can "[d]esign combinations of dazzling sterling silver, 14k gold, Swarovski crystal, colored stones and Italian Murano glass" (ELLE). This is
furthered by their website, which describes their company as one where your "...options are endless. Create a special piece around a...style that's
meaningful to you. Your finished designs will be as dazzling as they are personal" (Chamilia). The benefits that can be derived from customers also
include the satisfaction of social needs. Chamilia provides their customers with products that identify them as belonging to a higher status in society.

General Aviation Within The United States
General aviation (GA) could be defined as aviation pertaining to non–military as well as scheduled military aircrafts. General aviation within the
United States includes over 5000 public airports, generates over $200 billion dollars in revenue and supports close to a million jobs. For the year 2014,
pilots have logged over 23 million hours of flight, two–thirds were primarily for the purpose of business. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
reports that the fleet of aircrafts in the GA sector contained 199, 927 active aircrafts towards the end of 2013. The FAA also reports that the total
number of pilots within the United States have been on a decline with the present number of pilots being 174,833 as against 235,994 in 1996. In terms...

The airport is located in the Space Coast area located in southern part of Brevard County. The airport was constructed in 1929 and today is one of the
most self–sustaining airport in the State of Florida, operating entirely via revenue generated from airline fees, rent from tenant airlines as well as
state and local grants, with no reliance on tax payers' dollars. The airport is a major contributor to Brevard's economy with $1.1 billion in revenue
and 6000 jobs. The recent expansion taking place at the airport is expected to add another 2000 new jobs. MLB is strategically located and is only
30 minutes from Port Canaveral, which is one of the largest cruise ports and about 45 minutes from Orlando, which is a great tourist location and host
to globally acclaimed theme and amusement parks. The airports' location is great not just for travel reasons, but is also ideal for business. Thus, from
a business perspective, the airport is a home to several air–craft manufacturing as well as maintenance facilities, which have been rapidly expanding.
The airport is 200,000 square foot in area and is used for operations by commercial and charter airlines, namely Delta, American Airlines, Baer Air,
Porter and Elite. The airport has eight gates that can handle a passage of over two million passengers annually. The airport's website reports 444,844
passengers travelled through MLB in 2014 with the number expected to significantly rise year over year. Including the main runway, there are

An Approach Into Los Angeles International Airport
On February 1st, 1991 USAir Flight 1493 (USA 1493), a Boeing 737–300 (B–737), was on an approach into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX),
as part of a scheduled stop prior to completing its journey to San Francisco. USA 1493 was piloted by Captain Colin Shaw who had over 16,000
flight hours and First Officer David Kelly with over 4,000 total flight hours. Meanwhile on the ground at LAX, SkyWest AirlinesFlight 5569 (Skywest
5569), a Fairchild Metroliner, had just executed its clearance to taxi to Runway 24L from Gate 32 given by the local controller (LC2) in the LAX tower,
and was holding short (NTSB, 1991, p. 5). It was now 6:03PM, about 40 minutes after Sunset, with a cloud deck at 30,000 feet and 15 miles of
visibility (NTSB, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the nose began to lower the two pilots of USA 1493 immediately saw Skywest 5569 sitting on the runway and applied the brakes, but there was
no time. At 6:07PM USA 1493 slammed into Skywest 5569, crippling the nose gear of the B–737 and igniting an explosion that resulted in the two
aircraft skidding off the left side of the runway and slamming into an unoccupied fire station. 64 passengers, 3 cabin crewmembers, and the First Officer
successfully evacuated the burning B–737 (NTSB, 1991, p. 8).
Investigation
During the investigation, NTSB investigators processed and analyzed voice recordings, toxicology results, conducted meteorological, site surveys and
reviewed shift logs as well as airline and airport operating procedures. The voice recordings and operating procedures were the most vital in
understanding the diminished situational awareness that took place that day. USA 1493's FDR and the ATC radio recordings were successfully
recovered and would help investigators determine exactly what went wrong on February 1st, 1991 as well as the workload experienced by both
pilots and controllers. The captain and crew of USA 1493 were fully qualified and fully staffed for the flight. Witnesses who saw the crew
beforehand stated that they appeared to be well rested. The exact same was true for Skywest 5569. The controller for 1493 and 5569 had a total

Essay about The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods
The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods The houses can't be unbuilt, and the airports can't be torn down. But maybe the fences can be
mended. –Robbie Sherwood In the past 10 years, many cities across the country have outgrown the planner's expectations. Unfortunately the airports
that were built 20 or more years ago, have not grown with the cities. Phoenix has tripled in size in the past 10 years. The tripling of air traffic has not
had anywhere to go. The same two runways that have been serving the city since 1935 when the airport was built have been extremely over loaded. It
is not just happening in Phoenix, a few years ago Denver received a new airport to relieve the overflow of traffic from the older Stapelton ... Show more

The airspace is always changing to support more and more traffic. The older airport system is not able to support the increased traffic. If all the sides
were looked at, the advantages to having a strong air travel system in a large city far outweigh the drawbacks. When the busiest two–runway airport in
the world (Phoenix), has to go through 7 years of red tape bureaucracy to get a runway built, something is wrong with the picture. The procedure
should be modified so that changes can be made to the facility when it needs to, not 10 years later. The way to get this done is that we need to start
an awareness campaign to let our government know what we want. We live with a democratic government, so we should take advantage of it to speak
out for something we want. The most effective way of making our congressman aware of the issue is through a writing campaign. We need to write
and have our friends write to get the word out that airports are needed.
If the rule makers are aware that there are many people that do want aviation, it might speed up the process. Speaking about airport expansion, "There
are only 3 runways expansion projects in the country right now on the drawing board, Phoenix, Orlando, and Cleveland. It takes an extraordinarily
large amount of red tape to get a runway built, or lengthened" (Sullivan 10–27–98). When I speak of red tape, I mean the bureaucratic process to get the

Airport Conspiracy Theory : The Denver International...
Denver International Airport Conspiracy Theory
The Denver International Airport is located in Denver, Colorado, approximately 25 miles from downtown Denver. This airport is one of the largest
airports in the country. The Denver International Airport is not only famous due to its land area, but also for its several conspiracy theories.
The several conspiracy theories associated with this airport have provided countless stories to people who are interested in it. Beginning with the
murals, the airport construction and the sinister sculptures transpired the artistic clues to an apocalypse. Many different theories have been going
around for more than two decades. The airports murals are certainly unusual, several claim that the murals contain themes attributing to a future
military oppression and a one world government. Like most conspiracy theories involving this airport this one has been one of the most arguable one
over the years, the murals point to the rebirth of the world, nazi and fascist symbolism. Another controversial theory is the construction and design of
the runways that create the form of a swastika. "Denver International Airport is the secret hub of the New World Order. Opened in 1995, DIA has six
runways that form a swastika, and lost of underground space, not for moving luggage but for setting up concentration camps. Its terminals are
decorated with Masonic symbols and murals that hint a coming genocide and, for good measure, the Mayan prophecy that the world

The Threat Of Terrorist Groups Place High Value
There is substantial evidence which supports the idea that terrorist groups place high value is using shoulder–fire MANPAD weapon systems to
destroy civilian jet aircraft. Successfully attacking a civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial
aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value.
While the previous post examined mitigation strategies centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to
minimize the threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to completely eliminate the threat, there is
existing literature which offers potential strategies through a multi–layered approach.
Designing any sort of counter–MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport planners will have to convince stakeholders the
potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have
cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. It must therefore be understood that any front end
investment, in millions, could likely insure continued daily operations in the event of a planned attack and preserve billions in potentially lost revenue
on the back end.
Any defensive measure built

The A–380 is becoming more popular as airlines look for ways to move the maximum amount of passengers for the least money (Stafford, 2006). The
A380 is made in passenger or freight versions. The A380–800 is the largest passenger plane in the world. When passenger areas are divided into three
classes, the A380 can seat 550 passengers. When the entire plane is designated economy class, it can seat 853 people. There is 50% more cabin floor
space than the Boeing 747 because the A380s upper deck goes the entire length of the fuselage ("Airbus a380 airfield,"2011). In 2010 there were already

According to FAA Order 5300, airports may "submit Modifications of Standard (MOS) requests for review of non–standard compliance items as long
as safety is not compromised". Making modification would be much less expensive and less time consuming for the airports that are able to do them.
Some design standards to allow for safe use of the A380 include blast pad dimensions to be 250 x 400 feet ("Airbus a380 airfield,"2011).
Many smaller airports will not be able to fit the larger airbus and the A380 will be limited to only the large, hub airports better able to accommodate
them. Smaller airports may have to be used as feeder airports that will connect passengers to the large airports and the A380s. This could be a problem
of increased congestion with the existing slot system if more connecting flights are needed and there are no more gates available or slot time (Ruehle,
Goetsch, & Koch, 2006).
At this time intercontinental routes use the hub and spoke system. This method allows airlines to bundle an increased number of passengers on the
flights. The draw–back is that it also leads to a more complex feeder flight schedule. Those airports with the facilities and room to support the airbuses
would then become hubs for those aircraft flights. To be profitable and fill enough seats, airports with the most potential passengers would need to be
paired for flights. Any delay or cancellation would have a domino effect, costing more

Application Of Porter 's Five Model On Michael Kors
3. Application of Porter's Five Model on Michael Kors
Four forces that affect Michael Kors
Porter's five model is defined as the framework that evaluate the position of a company in the external environment with focus drawn on the level of
competitiveness (Roy 2011). The framework considers factors such as rivalry, substitute goods, the power of suppliers and buyers as well as new
entrants. Four forces can influence the success of Michael Kors. The first one is competitive rivalry. Here, the struggle is about maintaining
performance despite different tactics used by different companies to increase sales. For instance, Ralph Lauren uses premium prices for quality
products to differentiate itself, while Coach uses product variety within the line of handbags to remain competitive (Stewart 2016). Also, when the
industry is flooded with similar companies producing similar merchandise, the probability of a company stagnating is high because consumers have a
variety to pick from. Hence, the need to establish loyal customers.
Michael Kors is also facing the threat of new entrants. McClatchey and Murray (2011) observe that most talented designers working for big labels
such as Stella McCartney and Gucci typically go on to create their own labels increasing the intensity of the competition. However, the newer labels
take time before amassing a followership and loyal customers because of capital constraints, lack of experience, and retaliation by established brands.

Additionally, there are 57 stands or aprons domestic and regional operations and 41 aprons for international and freight operations.
The airfield of Sydney Airport has been modified and expanded in response to traffic growth and changes to aircraft size and fleet mix. The airfield is
inclusive of parallel runways along with the east–west runway, north–south runway, aircraft parking as well as taxiways. The north–south runway, the
parallel runway and the east–west runway is 3,962, 2,438 and 2,530 meters long respectively. ILS (Instrument Landing Systems) are established
through all runways, whereas north–south runways are equipped with HIAL, i.e. High Intensity Approach Lighting. The parallel runways are supported
by RETs, i.e. Rapid Exit Taxiways to diminish occupancy time. In order to facilitate the efficient movement of aircraft between terminals and runways,
a taxiway system is linked to the runways.
Specifically, a range of aircraft codes accommodates the Sydney Airport's operations, including:
пЃ¶Code C: A320 and B737;
пЃ¶Code D: B767;
пЃ¶Code E: A330, A340, B777 and B747;
пЃ¶Code F: A380 (operated from T1, i.e. International Terminal)
Overall, every operation of the Sydney International Airport is focused at providing transportation service. Therefore, its vision is to foster the

Problems Faced By Airports And Airports
One of the major issues at airports is improving efficiency, flow of all traffic to reduce the possibility of delays. After safety, everyone involved in
any sort of airport operations, works on increasing efficiency in order to avoid delays and having to spend additional money. As the airports operations
increase, the people in charge will have to come up with solutions to avoid setbacks. Airport planners have to come up with ideas in order to improve
airport facilities and increase the efficiency of the flow. The challenges that come with this type of projects is that sometimes the airports don't have
much room for improvement within the airport and don't have room to expand due to surrounding neighborhoods. This is where they have to find the
right balance for capacity and delay. To solve this problem first they have to find the hitch and then focus on working on that specific area. For
example, it can be a specific terminal, runways, taxiways, or not enough gates. Other alternatives to the matter can be working on distributing the traffic
through the off–peak times, or to start using other areas to within the airport to decrease the traffic at one specific area. Capacity can be view in two
different ways. One is at the rate the aircraft can be handled. Example, the airport may be able to handle the morning rush without having any delays,
assuming everything runs smooth without any disturbances. Practical capacity is the amount of operations in the airfield with a small

March 1, 2015
The 8th of December 2005 was a hard day for Southwest Airlines (SWA) but was catastrophic for the family that lost a child and for the aviation
industry. At that day, SWA flight number 1248 overran the departure end of therunway number 31C during landing at Chicago Midway International
Airport (MDW), Chicago, Illinois. The Boing 737 broke through two fences then onto a roadway. The plane came to a stop after hitting some cars. A
kid was killed and the passengers of the cars and the airplane received some serious and minor injuries. The plane left Baltimore/Washington
International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Baltimore, Maryland about 6 p.m. after two hours delay due to the bad weather conditions at Chicago.
That accident happened for the first flight of a long scheduled three–day trip. The pilot was in charge of flying while the co–pilot was in charge of
monitoring. Before taking off, they received the latest weather updates for MDW, which indicates that the active runway for them would be 31C with
mixed braking conditions. About 30 minutes before landing, the co–pilot entered the runway conditions, weather conditions and winds information into
the OPC to figure out the needed distance for landing. Due to the mix conditions the co–pilot suggested two more scenarios of fair and poor braking.

The Denver International Airport Conspiracy Theory
Picture a place with murals portraying destruction and catastrophe, a system of an underground city, inexplicable construction and excavation, and
runways formed in the shape of a swastika. This place is a place many people are in right now: The Denver International Airport. The Denver
International Airport has many serious and questionable characteristics such as unexplainable symbols, images, and stories inside and outside of the
airport which lead to the conclusion that the Denver International Airport is the headquarters for the New World Order.
The whole airport is full of signs that lead to the belief of it being controlled by the New World Order but many people don't know who or what the
New World Order is. The intentions of the New World Order are to have complete and total control over every human being on the planet and to
dramatically reduce the world's population by two thirds. "We will have a world government whether you like it or not. The only question is whether
that government will be achieved by conquest or consent," Peter Warburg, a German–born American banker, testified this before the US Senate on
February 17, 1950 (Peter Warburg). He was referring to the goals of the New World Order. The Denver International Airport is where the New

Pros And Cons Of Long-Term Franchise
Long–Term Franchise (BOT or LDO)
Around the world, long–term franchises for infrastructure facilities are usually referred to as BOT projects, because under this type of contractual
agreement the private sector builds, operates, and eventually transfers to government the facility in question. When a lease of the underlying land is
involved, this type of arrangement is sometimes called Lease–Develop–Operate (LDO); in this case the "transfer" back to government is implicit
approach is widely used for several reasons. First, it taps into a different pool of capital than is normally available for public infrastructure projects,
thereby expanding the range of potential funding sources. Second, private consortia are often able to design and build large facilities in significantly
less time than is possible via traditional government procurement methods. Third, both the up–front cost and the operating costs may be ... Show more

Fourth, BOT is a way of shifting many of the risks of project development from the public sector to the private sector. For these reasons, airport BOT
projects have proliferated in recent years. As of early 1994, there were 15 airport BOT terminal or runway projects under way worldwide, and another
five projects to develop entire new airports. In addition, another 18 such projects were under study. No outright airport BOT project has yet occurred
in the United States, but Transport Canada used this process to develop the successful international terminal (Terminal 3) at Toronto (as will be
discussed in the next section). Many U.S. airports have used something resembling an LDO process to develop new terminals sponsored by either
one or a group of airlines, which gain exclusive control of the gates in that terminal. But this type of project raises important competition and access
issues that do not arise when the developer/operator is an independent third party which relates to all airlines equally as users (as is the case

The Atlanta Airport By Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta...
In order to be the words busies and most efficient airport in the world continuously the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport must have the
proper set up that allows it to operate at an extremely high level. The Atlanta Airport has the most ideal set up for its specific operation. The airport as
a whole sits on about 4,700 acres of land; the terminal and ramp areas themselves cover approximately 130 acres. The terminal areas are where any of
the millions of passengers that pass through the airport every year can purchase tickets check and claim their baggage, and eat and drink at their
leisure. The concourse system at KATL is set up in linear satellite configuration. All passengers pass through one of the three security check points on
concourse T which is home to 15 gates beyond concourse T Concourse A through F are home to 191 domestic and international gates. Passengers are
transported through these concourses via moving sidewalks and an automated people mover (Hartsfield–Jackson, 2016).
The 4,700 acres that the airport covers feature 5 parallel runways (8L/26R, 8R/26L, 9L/27R, 9R/27L, 10/28); all of the runways run east to west
along with their associated taxiways. There are 2 runways on the North side of the airfield (The terminal area represents the middle of the airfield) and
3 runways on the south side of the airfield. The advantage of having these parallel runways is that during the operation there is no need to be concerned

140–foot–long blast pad is located on the east end; a 154– foot–long blast pad is located on the west end. The Runway 7R threshold is displaced 897
feet. The Runway 25L threshold is displaced 930 feet.
Parallel Runway 7L–25R is 4,500 feet by 75 feet. Analysis will be conducted to determine the need for these displacements in subsequent chapters.
Runway 7R–25L was 10,200 feet long when built in 1960. After the City of Phoenix purchased the airport, portions of the runway were redesigned and
made into overrun areas. Runway 7L–25R was constructed in 1974. Single wheel loading (SWL) refers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The PCI procedure was developed to collect data that would provide engineers and managers with a numerical value indicating overall pavement
conditions, and that would reflect both pavement structural integrity and operational surface condition. A PCI survey is performed by measuring the
amount and severity of certain distresses (defects) observed within a pavement sample unit.
Taxiways
The airport's taxiways and their designations are depicted on Exhibit 1.
There are three parallel taxiways: Taxiway A located 200 feet from the centerline of Runway 7L–25R; Taxiway B located 200 feet south of the
centerline of Runway 7L–25R; and
Taxiway C located 300 feet south of the centerline of Runway 7R–25L. Taxiways C3 and C12 are 50 feet wide. Taxiway C6 is 45 feet wide and
Taxiway C7 is 35 feet wide. All other taxiways are 40 feet wide. Taxiway A has five connecting taxiways to Runway 7L
–25R, and Taxiway
B has four. Taxiway B also has four connecting taxiways to Runway 7R– 35L. Taxiway C has 12 connecting taxiways to Runway 7R–25L, including
five oblique–angled exits.
The a small section of Taxiway A is in fair condition, whereas the remaining taxiways are all either in excellent, very good, or good condition.

Human Factors: American Airlines Flight 1420
Human Factors – American Airlines Flight 1420
Stephen G. H. Chavez
Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University
SFTY 330 – Aircraft Accident Investigation
06 October 2017 Abstract
Human factors in one way or another has contributed to every single aircraft accident that has ever occurred (Wood & Sweginnis, 2006) Not only were
they involved in the June 1, 1999 landing runway overrun of American Airlines flight 1420, but there were two significant human factors that the
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) declared as the probable cause for the accident. First, the NTSB determined that the probable causes of
American Airlines Flight 1420 was the flight crew's failure to abort or divert the attempted landing when the warnings of severe ... Show more content

The aircraft struck multiple obstructions after leaving the paved runway including part of the instrument landing system localizer and the security
perimeter fence before falling another 15 feet over a rock embankment into a flood plain where in collided with the supporting structure of the runway
approach lights. The post–crash fires and impact completely destroyed the aircraft and lead to the death of 11 people, including the captain, and
injured 107 more. The NTSB has determined that the probable cause of the accident was two–fold and both classified as human factors/errors. The first
factor is the aircrew's refusal to adhere to the severe weather warnings issued regarding the thunderstorms and crosswinds surrounding Little Rock
National Airport. Additionally, after touching down on the airfield, the flight crew failed to ensure proper spoiler extension. Both causes will be
looked at using the human factors analysis and classification system, or HFACS to determine the relevancy and severity of the acts performed, or not
performed, by the aircrew as it relates to the final

Importance Of Airfield Facilities At Washington National...
Airfield Facilities We have now taken a look at the process used to appoint the Board of Directors, and sources of income. After that is all said and
done it is time to take a look at the beating heart of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport which includes the airfield, runways, taxiways, and
aprons, and all other facilities involved in operating an airport. This particular airport sits on 860 acres of total land. Taking a closer look 733 acres
are on solid ground while 127 acres reside under water. The airport has 44 gates, nine of which are located in Terminal A. The remaining 35 are in
Terminal B/C. There are currently three runways on the airfield that form a distinct triangular pattern. President Roosevelt had a very specific ... Show

DCA was considered the "last word" in airports upon initial construction. It combined the latest and greatest aspects of technology, facility design,
handling of planes, air traffic and field traffic control, lighting, non–flight related facilities, and surface vehicle control available.
Terminal A opened in 1941 along with the airport. The airport facility was originally 115,000 square feet. This changed in 1950 when the first
major expansion was completed. They extended the south end of the main terminal by 297 feet, adding 25,110 square feet of total space. As the
airport traffic started to grow, they saw a need to expand even further. The next addition is referred to as the "south finger" was added about five
years later. The "south finger" increased the terminal by an additional 9,979 square feet and additionally provided aircraft gates and loading positions
that were desperately needed. Growth in the annual number of passengers continued steadily eventually prompting the construction of the North
Terminal. The North Terminal was opened in October of 1958 adding an additional 7,264 square feet. Moving forward they opened a 772 foot long
enclosed passageway between the main and north terminals. Terminal B/C was the next major expansion Reagan National went through. It opened on
July 27, 1997 and was one million square feet spread over three levels. Terminal B/C integrated direct connections to the Metrorail

Delays And Congestion At Frontier's East
Passenger air travel has been forecasted to increase to over 1 billion persons annually by 2023. This alone has a great likelihood of negatively
impacting airport capacity at several of Frontier Airlines' major hubs due to inefficient runway use. This case study will focus on delays and congestion
at Frontier's east coast hub, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and how improvements can effectively reduce the amount of delayed flights
Frontier consistently experiences.
Background
Philadelphia Municipal Airport opened on June 20, 1940 along the banks of the Delaware River. By year's end, approximately 40,000 passengers
travelled through the airport. By 1945, the municipal airport became Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) courtesy of transatlantic service by
American
Overseas Airlines. In the 1960s and 1970s, expansion and modernization paved way for the airport facility in use today.
Increased popularity of air travel, population growth, and urban development have all contributed to the increase in congestion and decrease in
capacity at PHL over the years. FAA records as far back as
1995 show that PHL ranked consistently as one of the most delayed airports (FAA, 2010). Many of these delays at PHL have secondary and tertiary
effects at the airports to which the originating flights are destined. Hub and spoke carrier passengers depending on their on–time arrival may miss
connecting flights and, at times, additional onward flights, cruises, or other important events.

Traveling, trade, economy, technologies were completely changed after its creation. The world became smaller, and people started to think differently
about the world. Two main stories are important for the invention of the aircraft. First, the Wright brothers are known as the creators of the airplane.
They are believed to be the inventors of the machine for the most part of the world. The brothers created a prototype that was able fly with the help of
a catapult, in other words, the machine could just float. It could not put itself in the by using self–propulsion. The second story is that the creation of
the airplane is given to Santos Dumont, a Brazilian citizen that expanded his aircraft studies in France; A man who studied many different types of
flying equipment, including the airplane. His prototype, the14 BIS, could fly and handle itself on the air with a gas engine developed to do so. The
first airplanes were developed in the beginning of the 20th century right before the World War I in which aircraft was most utilized for observation.
With the evolution of the technology, aircraft started to have more utilization so that during the World War II they were very important weapons
delivery and bombing the battle fields. Reconnaissance was another function for the aircraft during World War II. Thus, the development of the planes
had to be followed by the creation of the airports. In the early days of aviation airports were known as flying

Fashion And Its Effect On Society
For many centuries people have put thought and effort into the type of clothing that they wear. The idea of wearing different clothing gave people a
way to stand out and be different from others. Fashion is not just the clothing that people chose to wear, it is about the people wearing it and the
choices that they have made. Clothing has become a part of self–expression. The reason that clothing even exists is because of social and societal
norms. Many people believe that the way you dress can say a lot about you. Whether you are underdressed or underdressed, fashion is always something
that others tend to have an opinion on. But is fashion actually important? Does the way that we dress and present ourselves really have an effect on
others? Many will say yes, fashion does matter. First impressions tend to make a lasting impact on the way that we think of other people. If we are
not dressed to societies standard of presentable, we can make a bad impression. Fashion can also be a form of expression. Whether it is a cultural
expression or personal. It is seen as an art form that many take very seriously. Others may say no, fashion is seen as frivolous and a refection of a
materialistic society. Personally, I believe that fashion is very important because not only is it a form of self–expression, it also says a lot about who
we are as a person by the choices that we make. If everyone wore the same thing, there would be no variety in our society. Imagine how boring life

Airport Construction Has A Major Effect On The Community
Airport construction has a major effect on everyone involved and also the community around the airport. When an airport begins to make plans for
expansion or repairs a whole list of things are researched and planned years in advance. The airport manager is responsible for overseeing the project
and confirming that everything goes as planned and everyone stays safe in the process. There are multiple regulations to abide by not only from the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but by the city and the Occupational Safety and Health Association (0SHA). All of these regulations are
enforced to help mitigate the risk involved in airport construction. Airport construction is normally short–term but whiles it's being performed everyone

So with that being an issue the airport is faced with the decision of buying new land which usually results in buying whole neighborhoods and
businesses. By doing this the airport personnel has to make it right for the people living in these neighborhoods and offer them good compensation to
move away from the airport. They also have to think about the businesses around there and how the economy will be effected if those around forced to
move. But if the economy will benefit from the construction at the airport in the long run the homeowners and businesses will not have a choice to
stay, but once again they will be takin care of. Communities that use roads and highways by airports can be burdened by airport construction because of
the increased traffic from construction vehicles hauling equipment and supplies to the airport. A lot of times construction companies have to travel
through neighborhoods and other main roads that causes huge headaches for the community.
Airport construction also poses a short–term but substantial threat to the environment with all the different jobs being done, there are a lot of different
construction equipment such as cranes, dozers, excavators, concrete equipment, etc. that can cause problems with the environment. The main
environmental issues affected by include air, water, and noise pollution. Air pollution has always been a big topic in everywhere and around an airport

Impact Of General Aviation On Capacity At Sea Tac
Having thoroughly reviewed the history, value, financial performance, marking, and asset structure of Alaska Airlines, we will now take a slight step
back from directly reviewing the selected airline to assess the viability of the main hub airport for Alaska Airlines, Seattle–Tacoma International Airport
(SEA–TAC). As such, we will review the current market demand, historical growth, forecasted growth predictions, as well as airfield capacities in
current state and future development plans including the impacts associated with NextGen Technologies. Furthermore, we will review the impact of
general aviation on capacity at SEA–TAC.
Regarding aviation demand as a historical and predicted growth measure at SEA–TAC, there has been a significant departure from the predicted rates
in the previous two years. More specifically, using enplanements as a measure of comparative growth for predictive models, the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) forecasted average growth of 2.55% annually over the period of 2014 to 2040 (Terminal area forecast summary). Astonishingly,
SEA–TAC saw an unprecedented growth of 7.7% in 2014 and an even more dramatic growth of 12.9% in 2015 which included a 14.6% increase in
international traveler enplanement (News release: Sea–tac airport growth). Comparatively, representing these numbers as total annual passengers
indicate 37 million passengers in 2014, 42.3 million in 2015 and an anticipated growth to 66 million by 2034, or a further 56% growth over

Fashion At The Edge, By Gaby Wood
In Caroline Evans' book, Fashion at the Edge, she looks at the fashions from all ages but goes most deeply into the fashion of the 1990's and the themes
that were very apparent in that particular time. She expands on these themes in chapters throughout her book such as Deathliness, Spectacle, Horror
and Glamour. She relates all these themes back to the influences of the 20th century and the rise of the commodity obsessed culture, modernism and
capitalism and the metaphorical death it brings to our world. This essay will focus on the image of 'Dolly Mixture' that was featured in a fashion
spread in 2000 that was written by Gaby Wood, which is found in the Deathliness chapter. I will review Evans' chapter and her analysis of the themes
and idea proposed by Evans herself and other theorists. I will use these themes and ideas to make my own predictions about the effects these theories
would have on the future of our society and our fashion here in New Zealand.
Evans starts the chapter of with exploring the idea of living dolls. She explains that these living dolls are actually human beings, mostly women that
are becoming or have become objects through the course of modeling clothes. There are several European designers who have seen this issue and
have played on this idea in the late 1990's, such designers like Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. They replaced real life
models with dummies, as they called it, or by using the model to resemble a dummy by

Runway Description Of Runway Lighting
Runway lighting. Runway lighting is composed of several different types of lighting, with specific colors and positions on the runway, conveying vital
information to the pilot during night operations, or operations during low visibility. Some airports will have Runway End Identifier Lights, which
provide positive identification of the approach end of the runway. These lights are located on each side of the runway threshold, consist of a pair of
synchronized flashing lights, and may be unidirectional facing the approach area or omnidirectional. Runway Edge Lights are white lights used to
mark the edges of the runway. Used for night or low visibility operations, these lights are classified as high, medium, or low intensity lights. On
instrument runways, amber lights are used on the last half of the runway, or 2,000 feet, whichever is less, with red lights marking the end of the
runway. Touchdown Zone Lights are flush lights that consist of two rows of lights on either side of the runway center line that designate the desired
touchdown area of the runway. Runway Centerline Lights consist of a single row of white lights, beginning 75 feet from the landing threshold, spaced
at 50 foot intervals, and run the length of the centerline of the runway. Taxiway Turnoff Lights are installed on some precision runways, they consist of
flush lights which emit a steady green color, and designate where taxiways intersect the runway ("Airport Operations," n.d.). Taxiway lighting. As with

Benefits Of Measure Service Quality
Incheon and Hong Kong two of the best–ranked airports in the world
Airports are similar to cities in a variety of aspects where to happen many activities such as take–off, landings of aircraft, movement of people and
freight. It is important to highlight that passengers are the essence of the airports operations considering that the primary purpose of the commercial
aviation is to transport customers from one point to another point in a period of time. In over the past years airports focused only in the departure and
arrival of passengers but in the current years, airports focus their goals beyond transportation of travellers with the purpose to satisfy their needs. Thus,
airports offer a range of services to attract the attention of different type of customers worldwide. The aim of this essay is to analyse and understand
the benefits of measure service quality due to the high competitiveness of the airport industry, taking as examples two of the best airports in the world
for passengers. The two airports selected are Incheon International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport that are located in Asia, one of the
markets with more demand of customers these days and in the coming years by International Air Transport Association (2015). In the direction to
enrich the performance of the organisations the need to measure service quality arises, since it is vital to determine how well an airport is performing

In optimizing team performance in high reliability organizations (HROs), Stout et al. (1996) suggested that a shared mental model is directly related to
the demands of the task that needs to be performed. To illustrate the concept of a shared mental model the authors stated that it is applicable under
circumstances where communication, regarding strategizing the plan, is sparse due to workload, time crunch, or other unavoidable environmental
factors (e.g. in firefighting, sudden falls in hospitals), as compared to the circumstances where team members can be expressive and freely
communicate about planning and strategizing goal achievement without prior knowledge. In a conceptually similar manner team situation awareness
is relevant when team members try to find the means to achieve a common understanding of their environment and share contextual knowledge that
enables them to work efficiently and to ensure their own safety and that of their team members (Brandigampola, 2011). Team situation awareness

Research Paper On Airport Interview
The location of the interview was in the boardroom of the Hector International Airport. The attendees of the meeting were Kaitlyn Anderson, Stacie
Tjon Bossart, Corey Quinton and Jim Koehler. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Darren Anderson, who was the driver of the airport's Chevrolet Traverse,
the subject vehicle that was involved in the accident. Kaitlyn appeared at the interview wearing a sweat suit. She is 18 years old and a freshman at
studying pharmaceutical medicine at North Dakota State University. She lives at home with her parents and her younger sister. She made a nice
appearance during the interview and was able to keep composed during most of the meeting. Overall, she will make an above–average witness.
Kaitlyn was in the vehicle with Darren Anderson at the time of the accident because he was excited about the construction project going on that
involved the runway and wanted to bring her out to see the project. They arrived at the airport at approximately 11:00 PM on July 30, 2017. They
walked through the administration section of the airport and then got into the airport's Chevy Traverse. Kaitlyn reported that the Traverse is equipped
with amber warning lights on the top; however, she was not certain if the lights were activated at any time that night.
Kaitlyn and her father drove out onto Runway 18–36, which was closed due to the construction and a restriping project, and they parked near the
intersection of Runway 18–36 and Runway 9–27. Her dad got out of the vehicle and had a conversation with Henry Swedberg, from the airport, and
another gentleman also from the airport, regarding the work that was ongoing that night. Kaitlyn got out of the vehicle to say hello to Henry and then
both she and her dad got into the vehicle to escort the painting truck down the middle of Runway 18–36. (Escort vehicles, which are in radio–contact
with the tower, must accompany all non–airport vehicles on the runways.)
West River Striping was repainting the center line of Runway 18–36 from taxiway C through the south end of the runway. After they escorted the large

Project Runway Essay
The main lights dim, the runway lights flash on and the audience grows excited. The models backstage grow nervous as the audience starts to cheer.
The models are about to show off a new line of clothing from a designer that will become the newest trend in fashion. But what is fashion? Many
people think about models, the runway, New York and expensiveclothing when they hear the word fashion. But fashion is much more than that. Fashion
is clothing that defines who a person is, their likes and dislikes, their personality and most importantly their culture.
Clothing dates back to about 100,000–500,000 years ago. The first clothing was made out of animal hide and fur, vegetation and bones. This type of
clothing was usually draped over people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muslim women are supposed to dress modestly, covering more body then the men. The law requires these women to wear hijab which is mosdest
clothing ranging from headdress to the traditional burqa. The modest clothing protects the women from the men's gazes (Mussap 122). The kimono is
widely referred to as the national costume of Japan and is used for festive occasions in Japan. Once used to determine social class, the kimono has now
become a symbol of "distinctive Japaneseness". The kimono represents the diligent and graceful manner of the Japanese woman. This representation
came from geisha women who once wore them (Assmann 360–362).
Fashion through the different cultures also defines that cultures religion. Many cultures have tradition religious outfits. One example is Jewish men
wearing yamakas during religious events. The yamakas symbolize the relationship between man and God. In the Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and
Jainism religions the people wear natural, unstitched cloth while performing religious ceremonies. The natural, unstitched cloth represents purity and
devotion to the task.
Fashion communicates the culture and ways of people. It is a way for people to express their thoughts and feelings. People who dress in all black
may be in mourning or depressed while people who wear bright colors are cheerful and lively. According to Isabel Grant and Graeme Stephen
consumers buy fashion based on their own preferences which demonstrates their

Fashion Defines Individual Identity, Image, Shoes, And...
Streets are the Real Runways
The customer grasps the cold, brass doorknob, with a jerk, swings open the door, and walks inside. Behind her, the bell, tied to the knob, rings and the
cashier from the counter yells his greetings, as he does for every customer. The customer continues walking, passing shelf after shelf full of tops,
blouses, and jackets–all banal and redundant. Nevertheless, the customer finally stops and finds just what she was looking for: a bright blue top, that
will make her eyes pop for tonight's dinner date. She will feel confident and beautiful tonight because of that blue blouse. A new top or a new trend,
society craves for fashionable outfits, shoes, and accessories. Fashion defines individual identity, impacts perceptions, and portrays a symbolic meaning.
Fashion helps the individual grow and change one's emotional and physical identities. The clothes one wears daily define how the individual feels
and reflects one's attitudes and moods. For example, if an individual is lethargic, one may be seen in sweatpants; if one is feeling powerful, the
individual may be seen in a suit. The phrase "fashion choice" does not just include the articles of clothing that one chooses to put on; it also implies the
identity the individual chooses to represent for the day. Many say attitude is everything, but fashion is everything, because for many, clothing can
determine the animated attitude the individual chooses to display or not display for the day.

Services, Inc., and operated by Global Exec Aviation, overran runway 11 during a RTO at Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Columbia, South Carolina.
The captain, first officer and two other passengers were killed. The cockpit voice recorder caught multiple loud rumbling sounds, which was later
concluded in the NTSB report to be tires blowing out. The tires were sequential blowing out due to the insufficient maintenance of the tires by Global
Exec Aviation. The recorders also documented confused conversations by the crew, regarding the unexpected noises. The pilot committed to a RTO

Safety recommendations to perform were required from the crew and pilot to monitor tire pressures and checks, pilot's needed training on tire failure
scenarios, change deficiencies in the Learjet's system with thrust reverse, and require that all Learjet pilots receive training, for takeoff as well as
landing phases of flight (NTSB, 2010).

An Approach Into Los Angeles International Airport On February 1st, 1991 USAir Flight 1493 (USA 1493), a Boeing 737–300 (B–737), was on an approach into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as part of a scheduled stop prior to completing its journey to San Francisco. At 6:07PM USA 1493 slammed into Skywest 5569, crippling the nose gear of the B–737 and igniting an explosion that resulted in the two aircraft skidding off the left side of the runway and slamming into an unoccupied fire station. 64 passengers, 3 cabin crewmembers, and the First Officer successfully evacuated the burning B–737 (NTSB, 1991, p. 8). Investigation During the investigation, NTSB investigators processed and analyzed voice recordings, toxicology results, conducted meteorological, site surveys and reviewed shift logs as well as airline and airport operating procedures. The voice recordings and operating procedures were the most vital in understanding the diminished situational awareness that took place that day. USA 1493's FDR and the ATC radio recordings were successfully recovered and would help investigators determine exactly what went wrong on February 1st, 1991 as well as the workload experienced by both pilots and controllers. The captain and crew of USA 1493 were fully qualified and fully staffed for the flight. Witnesses who saw the crew beforehand stated that they appeared to be well rested. • 6. Essay about The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods The houses can't be unbuilt, and the airports can't be torn down. But maybe the fences can be mended. –Robbie Sherwood In the past 10 years, many cities across the country have outgrown the planner's expectations. Unfortunately the airports that were built 20 or more years ago, have not grown with the cities. Phoenix has tripled in size in the past 10 years. The tripling of air traffic has not had anywhere to go. The same two runways that have been serving the city since 1935 when the airport was built have been extremely over loaded. It is not just happening in Phoenix, a few years ago Denver received a new airport to relieve the overflow of traffic from the older Stapelton ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The airspace is always changing to support more and more traffic. The older airport system is not able to support the increased traffic. If all the sides were looked at, the advantages to having a strong air travel system in a large city far outweigh the drawbacks. When the busiest two–runway airport in the world (Phoenix), has to go through 7 years of red tape bureaucracy to get a runway built, something is wrong with the picture. The procedure should be modified so that changes can be made to the facility when it needs to, not 10 years later. The way to get this done is that we need to start an awareness campaign to let our government know what we want. We live with a democratic government, so we should take advantage of it to speak out for something we want. The most effective way of making our congressman aware of the issue is through a writing campaign. We need to write and have our friends write to get the word out that airports are needed. If the rule makers are aware that there are many people that do want aviation, it might speed up the process. Speaking about airport expansion, "There are only 3 runways expansion projects in the country right now on the drawing board, Phoenix, Orlando, and Cleveland. It takes an extraordinarily large amount of red tape to get a runway built, or lengthened" (Sullivan 10–27–98). When I speak of red tape, I mean the bureaucratic process to get the necessary ... • 7. Airport Conspiracy Theory : The Denver International... Denver International Airport Conspiracy Theory The Denver International Airport is located in Denver, Colorado, approximately 25 miles from downtown Denver. This airport is one of the largest airports in the country. The Denver International Airport is not only famous due to its land area, but also for its several conspiracy theories. The several conspiracy theories associated with this airport have provided countless stories to people who are interested in it. Beginning with the murals, the airport construction and the sinister sculptures transpired the artistic clues to an apocalypse. Many different theories have been going around for more than two decades. The airports murals are certainly unusual, several claim that the murals contain themes attributing to a future military oppression and a one world government. Like most conspiracy theories involving this airport this one has been one of the most arguable one over the years, the murals point to the rebirth of the world, nazi and fascist symbolism. Another controversial theory is the construction and design of the runways that create the form of a swastika. "Denver International Airport is the secret hub of the New World Order. Opened in 1995, DIA has six runways that form a swastika, and lost of underground space, not for moving luggage but for setting up concentration camps. Its terminals are decorated with Masonic symbols and murals that hint a coming genocide and, for good measure, the Mayan prophecy that the world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Threat Of Terrorist Groups Place High Value There is substantial evidence which supports the idea that terrorist groups place high value is using shoulder–fire MANPAD weapon systems to destroy civilian jet aircraft. Successfully attacking a civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value. While the previous post examined mitigation strategies centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to minimize the threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to completely eliminate the threat, there is existing literature which offers potential strategies through a multi–layered approach. Designing any sort of counter–MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport planners will have to convince stakeholders the potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. It must therefore be understood that any front end investment, in millions, could likely insure continued daily operations in the event of a planned attack and preserve billions in potentially lost revenue on the back end. The A380 is made in passenger or freight versions. The A380–800 is the largest passenger plane in the world. When passenger areas are divided into three classes, the A380 can seat 550 passengers. When the entire plane is designated economy class, it can seat 853 people. There is 50% more cabin floor space than the Boeing 747 because the A380s upper deck goes the entire length of the fuselage ("Airbus a380 airfield,"2011). In 2010 there were already over 30 in use and more are expected in the near future (Young & Wells, 2011, p. 473). Due to the size and weight of the aircraft, airports will have... According to FAA Order 5300, airports may "submit Modifications of Standard (MOS) requests for review of non–standard compliance items as long as safety is not compromised". Making modification would be much less expensive and less time consuming for the airports that are able to do them. Some design standards to allow for safe use of the A380 include blast pad dimensions to be 250 x 400 feet ("Airbus a380 airfield,"2011). Many smaller airports will not be able to fit the larger airbus and the A380 will be limited to only the large, hub airports better able to accommodate them. Smaller airports may have to be used as feeder airports that will connect passengers to the large airports and the A380s. This could be a problem of increased congestion with the existing slot system if more connecting flights are needed and there are no more gates available or slot time (Ruehle, Goetsch, & Koch, 2006). At this time intercontinental routes use the hub and spoke system. This method allows airlines to bundle an increased number of passengers on the flights. The draw–back is that it also leads to a more complex feeder flight schedule. Those airports with the facilities and room to support the airbuses would then become hubs for those aircraft flights. To be profitable and fill enough seats, airports with the most potential passengers would need to be paired for flights. Any delay or cancellation would have a domino effect, costing more ... • 11. Application Of Porter 's Five Model On Michael Kors 3. Application of Porter's Five Model on Michael Kors Four forces that affect Michael Kors Porter's five model is defined as the framework that evaluate the position of a company in the external environment with focus drawn on the level of competitiveness (Roy 2011). The framework considers factors such as rivalry, substitute goods, the power of suppliers and buyers as well as new entrants. Four forces can influence the success of Michael Kors. The first one is competitive rivalry. Here, the struggle is about maintaining performance despite different tactics used by different companies to increase sales. For instance, Ralph Lauren uses premium prices for quality products to differentiate itself, while Coach uses product variety within the line of handbags to remain competitive (Stewart 2016). Also, when the industry is flooded with similar companies producing similar merchandise, the probability of a company stagnating is high because consumers have a variety to pick from. Hence, the need to establish loyal customers. Michael Kors is also facing the threat of new entrants. McClatchey and Murray (2011) observe that most talented designers working for big labels such as Stella McCartney and Gucci typically go on to create their own labels increasing the intensity of the competition. However, the newer labels take time before amassing a followership and loyal customers because of capital constraints, lack of experience, and retaliation by established brands. Bargaining power ... • 14. Problems Faced By Airports And Airports One of the major issues at airports is improving efficiency, flow of all traffic to reduce the possibility of delays. After safety, everyone involved in any sort of airport operations, works on increasing efficiency in order to avoid delays and having to spend additional money. As the airports operations increase, the people in charge will have to come up with solutions to avoid setbacks. Airport planners have to come up with ideas in order to improve airport facilities and increase the efficiency of the flow. The challenges that come with this type of projects is that sometimes the airports don't have much room for improvement within the airport and don't have room to expand due to surrounding neighborhoods. This is where they have to find the right balance for capacity and delay. To solve this problem first they have to find the hitch and then focus on working on that specific area. For example, it can be a specific terminal, runways, taxiways, or not enough gates. Other alternatives to the matter can be working on distributing the traffic through the off–peak times, or to start using other areas to within the airport to decrease the traffic at one specific area. Capacity can be view in two different ways. One is at the rate the aircraft can be handled. Example, the airport may be able to handle the morning rush without having any delays, assuming everything runs smooth without any disturbances. Practical capacity is the amount of operations in the airfield with a small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Long-Term Franchise Long–Term Franchise (BOT or LDO) Around the world, long–term franchises for infrastructure facilities are usually referred to as BOT projects, because under this type of contractual agreement the private sector builds, operates, and eventually transfers to government the facility in question. When a lease of the underlying land is involved, this type of arrangement is sometimes called Lease–Develop–Operate (LDO); in this case the "transfer" back to government is implicit approach is widely used for several reasons. First, it taps into a different pool of capital than is normally available for public infrastructure projects, thereby expanding the range of potential funding sources. Second, private consortia are often able to design and build large facilities in significantly less time than is possible via traditional government procurement methods. This alone has a great likelihood of negatively impacting airport capacity at several of Frontier Airlines' major hubs due to inefficient runway use. This case study will focus on delays and congestion at Frontier's east coast hub, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and how improvements can effectively reduce the amount of delayed flights Frontier consistently experiences. Background Philadelphia Municipal Airport opened on June 20, 1940 along the banks of the Delaware River. By year's end, approximately 40,000 passengers travelled through the airport. By 1945, the municipal airport became Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) courtesy of transatlantic service by American Overseas Airlines. In the 1960s and 1970s, expansion and modernization paved way for the airport facility in use today. Increased popularity of air travel, population growth, and urban development have all contributed to the increase in congestion and decrease in capacity at PHL over the years. FAA records as far back as 1995 show that PHL ranked consistently as one of the most delayed airports (FAA, 2010). Many of these delays at PHL have secondary and tertiary effects at the airports to which the originating flights are destined. The brothers created a prototype that was able fly with the help of a catapult, in other words, the machine could just float. It could not put itself in the by using self–propulsion. The second story is that the creation of the airplane is given to Santos Dumont, a Brazilian citizen that expanded his aircraft studies in France; A man who studied many different types of flying equipment, including the airplane. His prototype, the14 BIS, could fly and handle itself on the air with a gas engine developed to do so. The reason that clothing even exists is because of social and societal norms. Many people believe that the way you dress can say a lot about you. Whether you are underdressed or underdressed, fashion is always something that others tend to have an opinion on. But is fashion actually important? Does the way that we dress and present ourselves really have an effect on others? Many will say yes, fashion does matter. • 30. Airport Construction Has A Major Effect On The Community Airport construction has a major effect on everyone involved and also the community around the airport. When an airport begins to make plans for expansion or repairs a whole list of things are researched and planned years in advance. The airport manager is responsible for overseeing the project and confirming that everything goes as planned and everyone stays safe in the process. There are multiple regulations to abide by not only from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but by the city and the Occupational Safety and Health Association (0SHA). All of these regulations are enforced to help mitigate the risk involved in airport construction. Airport construction is normally short–term but whiles it's being performed everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So with that being an issue the airport is faced with the decision of buying new land which usually results in buying whole neighborhoods and businesses. By doing this the airport personnel has to make it right for the people living in these neighborhoods and offer them good compensation to move away from the airport. They also have to think about the businesses around there and how the economy will be effected if those around forced to move. But if the economy will benefit from the construction at the airport in the long run the homeowners and businesses will not have a choice to stay, but once again they will be takin care of. Communities that use roads and highways by airports can be burdened by airport construction because of the increased traffic from construction vehicles hauling equipment and supplies to the airport. A lot of times construction companies have to travel through neighborhoods and other main roads that causes huge headaches for the community. Airport construction also poses a short–term but substantial threat to the environment with all the different jobs being done, there are a lot of different construction equipment such as cranes, dozers, excavators, concrete equipment, etc. that can cause problems with the environment. The main environmental issues affected by include air, water, and noise pollution. Air pollution has always been a big topic in everywhere and around an airport there is no ... • 31. Impact Of General Aviation On Capacity At Sea Tac Having thoroughly reviewed the history, value, financial performance, marking, and asset structure of Alaska Airlines, we will now take a slight step back from directly reviewing the selected airline to assess the viability of the main hub airport for Alaska Airlines, Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA–TAC). As such, we will review the current market demand, historical growth, forecasted growth predictions, as well as airfield capacities in current state and future development plans including the impacts associated with NextGen Technologies. Furthermore, we will review the impact of general aviation on capacity at SEA–TAC. Regarding aviation demand as a historical and predicted growth measure at SEA–TAC, there has been a significant departure from the predicted rates in the previous two years. More specifically, using enplanements as a measure of comparative growth for predictive models, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) forecasted average growth of 2.55% annually over the period of 2014 to 2040 (Terminal area forecast summary). Astonishingly, SEA–TAC saw an unprecedented growth of 7.7% in 2014 and an even more dramatic growth of 12.9% in 2015 which included a 14.6% increase in international traveler enplanement (News release: Sea–tac airport growth). Comparatively, representing these numbers as total annual passengers indicate 37 million passengers in 2014, 42.3 million in 2015 and an anticipated growth to 66 million by 2034, or a further 56% growth over ... • 32. Fashion At The Edge, By Gaby Wood In Caroline Evans' book, Fashion at the Edge, she looks at the fashions from all ages but goes most deeply into the fashion of the 1990's and the themes that were very apparent in that particular time. She expands on these themes in chapters throughout her book such as Deathliness, Spectacle, Horror and Glamour. She relates all these themes back to the influences of the 20th century and the rise of the commodity obsessed culture, modernism and capitalism and the metaphorical death it brings to our world. This essay will focus on the image of 'Dolly Mixture' that was featured in a fashion spread in 2000 that was written by Gaby Wood, which is found in the Deathliness chapter. I will review Evans' chapter and her analysis of the themes and idea proposed by Evans herself and other theorists. I will use these themes and ideas to make my own predictions about the effects these theories would have on the future of our society and our fashion here in New Zealand. Evans starts the chapter of with exploring the idea of living dolls. She explains that these living dolls are actually human beings, mostly women that are becoming or have become objects through the course of modeling clothes. There are several European designers who have seen this issue and have played on this idea in the late 1990's, such designers like Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. • 33. Runway Description Of Runway Lighting Runway lighting. Runway lighting is composed of several different types of lighting, with specific colors and positions on the runway, conveying vital information to the pilot during night operations, or operations during low visibility. Some airports will have Runway End Identifier Lights, which provide positive identification of the approach end of the runway. These lights are located on each side of the runway threshold, consist of a pair of synchronized flashing lights, and may be unidirectional facing the approach area or omnidirectional. Runway Edge Lights are white lights used to mark the edges of the runway. Used for night or low visibility operations, these lights are classified as high, medium, or low intensity lights. On instrument runways, amber lights are used on the last half of the runway, or 2,000 feet, whichever is less, with red lights marking the end of the runway. Touchdown Zone Lights are flush lights that consist of two rows of lights on either side of the runway center line that designate the desired touchdown area of the runway. Runway Centerline Lights consist of a single row of white lights, beginning 75 feet from the landing threshold, spaced at 50 foot intervals, and run the length of the centerline of the runway. Taxiway Turnoff Lights are installed on some precision runways, they consist of flush lights which emit a steady green color, and designate where taxiways intersect the runway ("Airport Operations," n.d.). Benefits Of Measure Service Quality Incheon and Hong Kong two of the best–ranked airports in the world Airports are similar to cities in a variety of aspects where to happen many activities such as take–off, landings of aircraft, movement of people and freight. It is important to highlight that passengers are the essence of the airports operations considering that the primary purpose of the commercial aviation is to transport customers from one point to another point in a period of time. In over the past years airports focused only in the departure and arrival of passengers but in the current years, airports focus their goals beyond transportation of travellers with the purpose to satisfy their needs. Thus, airports offer a range of services to attract the attention of different type of customers worldwide. The aim of this essay is to analyse and understand the benefits of measure service quality due to the high competitiveness of the airport industry, taking as examples two of the best airports in the world for passengers. The two airports selected are Incheon International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport that are located in Asia, one of the markets with more demand of customers these days and in the coming years by International Air Transport Association (2015). When the 737 went for its final approach the local controller got distracted with a series of abnormalities including an aircraft that switched off the tower frequency inadvertently and a misplaced flight progress strip that resulted in the SkyWest being informed to take off from the same runway where USAir 737 was landing. (1996) suggested that a shared mental model is directly related to the demands of the task that needs to be performed. To illustrate the concept of a shared mental model the authors stated that it is applicable under circumstances where communication, regarding strategizing the plan, is sparse due to workload, time crunch, or other unavoidable environmental factors (e.g. in firefighting, sudden falls in hospitals), as compared to the circumstances where team members can be expressive and freely communicate about planning and strategizing goal achievement without prior knowledge. In a conceptually similar manner team situation awareness is relevant when team members try to find the means to achieve a common understanding of their environment and share contextual knowledge that enables them to work efficiently and to ensure their own safety and that of their team members (Brandigampola, 2011). Team situation awareness (TSA) is an important factor recognized in the human factors literature as critical to efficient and safe teamwork (Cooke, Stout & Salas, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The attendees of the meeting were Kaitlyn Anderson, Stacie Tjon Bossart, Corey Quinton and Jim Koehler. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Darren Anderson, who was the driver of the airport's Chevrolet Traverse, the subject vehicle that was involved in the accident. Kaitlyn appeared at the interview wearing a sweat suit. She is 18 years old and a freshman at studying pharmaceutical medicine at North Dakota State University. She lives at home with her parents and her younger sister. She made a nice appearance during the interview and was able to keep composed during most of the meeting. Overall, she will make an above–average witness. Kaitlyn was in the vehicle with Darren Anderson at the time of the accident because he was excited about the construction project going on that involved the runway and wanted to bring her out to see the project. They arrived at the airport at approximately 11:00 PM on July 30, 2017. They walked through the administration section of the airport and then got into the airport's Chevy Traverse. Kaitlyn reported that the Traverse is equipped with amber warning lights on the top; however, she was not certain if the lights were activated at any time that night. Kaitlyn and her father drove out onto Runway 18–36, which was closed due to the construction and a restriping project, and they parked near the intersection of Runway 18–36 and Runway 9–27. Her dad got out of the vehicle and had a conversation with Henry Swedberg, from the airport, and another gentleman also from the airport, regarding the work that was ongoing that night. Kaitlyn got out of the vehicle to say hello to Henry and then both she and her dad got into the vehicle to escort the painting truck down the middle of Runway 18–36. (Escort vehicles, which are in radio–contact with the tower, must accompany all non–airport vehicles on the runways.) West River Striping was repainting the center line of Runway 18–36 from taxiway C through the south end of the runway. • 39. Fashion Defines Individual Identity, Image, Shoes, And... Streets are the Real Runways The customer grasps the cold, brass doorknob, with a jerk, swings open the door, and walks inside. Behind her, the bell, tied to the knob, rings and the cashier from the counter yells his greetings, as he does for every customer. The customer continues walking, passing shelf after shelf full of tops, blouses, and jackets–all banal and redundant. Nevertheless, the customer finally stops and finds just what she was looking for: a bright blue top, that will make her eyes pop for tonight's dinner date. She will feel confident and beautiful tonight because of that blue blouse. A new top or a new trend, society craves for fashionable outfits, shoes, and accessories. Fashion defines individual identity, impacts perceptions, and portrays a symbolic meaning. Fashion helps the individual grow and change one's emotional and physical identities. The clothes one wears daily define how the individual feels and reflects one's attitudes and moods. For example, if an individual is lethargic, one may be seen in sweatpants; if one is feeling powerful, the individual may be seen in a suit. The phrase "fashion choice" does not just include the articles of clothing that one chooses to put on; it also implies the identity the individual chooses to represent for the day. Many say attitude is everything, but fashion is everything, because for many, clothing can determine the animated attitude the individual chooses to display or not display for the day. ...
