The document discusses potential names for a hip hop magazine and the rationale behind each. The initial name proposed is "Flame" to represent describing good tracks as "fire." Another option is "The Box" to represent artists rising above humble beginnings. "King" is also considered to represent the wealth and power of successful hip hop artists. "Supreme" and "Five Star" are further names discussed to convey high standards and social status.
2. ‘Flame’ is the first name I have chosen as an initial name for my magazine.
This links to the fact that when rappers make their tracks and feel it is of high
standard they tend to call it ‘fire’
This fits in with my genre as it is a stereotypical way to portray my genre and
represents the audience well as they would say ‘fire’ if they heard a really good
track from a well known hip hop artist.

3. The second name that I came up with is called ‘The Box’ which suggests that
most hip hop artists come from an enclosed area; a place which is not
desirable and then become successful and more open about themselves and
their life. ‘The Box’ means that the magazine will always go back to the roots
of artists which would entice the target audience as it will make them feel as if
they are getting to know the artist personally.

4. The third name I chose is ‘King’ which links to the fact that hip hop artists
generally have a lot of gold and are rich/wealthy. This gives them power; it
relates to theme of royalty as they are usually the people who are rich and
have power. They are respected and they also are popular/noticed a lot by the
media.
This represents the target audience as it associates with their likes and their
mentality. They wouldn’t like hip hop if they didn’t feel a connection with the
genre therefore I think the name ‘King’ plays huge significance in showing the
current status of artists in comparison to the status they previously had.

5. ‘Supreme’ is the fourth name I have chosen which I feel again links to having
social status and being respected because of status. It links to being royal and
powerful and enforces the fact that these artists from the hip hop genre once
they had nothing and now have success/fame and riches.
Supreme shows that the artists featured in the magazine are wealthy and so
presents the magazine as one with high standards as well associating itself
with the needs of the target audience and representing them in a strong
manner as powerful.

6. ‘Five Star’ is the fifth name I have chosen as an initial name because it
represents hip hop artists and the target audience in a way which makes them
appear as high standard and of good social status.
This shows the target audience that the magazine also has high standards as
‘Five Star’ represents the rating of something. The rating of this is five out of
five stars which shows the magazine in a positive manner.
