2. Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
Audience
Aged 14 - 25
Mainly females, but
also some males
Social class: Lower
middle to working
Hobbies: Concerts and
listening to music
Subculture: Hipsters,
Rockers, indie
Genre: Pop/Rock
3. Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
I have mentioned Beyonce on
my front cover because she is a
very popular pop artist and
many people in my question
and interviews said Beyonce as
someone they listen to.
Here I have used the footer in order to attract
my target audience by stating things I know
they will be interested in.
Here I have used the
header in order to attract
my target audience. Many
said they enjoy going to
concerts. Having the
chance win tickets will
appeal to students. Also, I
have chosen Katy Perry
due to the fact she was a
popular chose in favourite
artist in both the
interviews and
questionnaires.
The coverline here will
appeal to my audience as
the “top 10” tends to be
pop music. As my
magazine is targeting
people who like the pop
genre this cover line will
appeal to them and
interest them in my
magazine.
Here I have tried to attract my
audience by putting a quote
from the article on the font
cover. By doing this, it allows
me to attract the attention of
the target audience who have
said they like exclusives in
magazines. The quote will help
gain their interest to reading the
article.
Here I have stated the type of music
magazine “Rogue” is.
I have selected my image and feature
of my magazine to be a white British
female who is 17 years old. This is
someone my target audience will like
to see be on the cover as she is easy
to relate to.
I have mentioned Robbin
Thicke on my front cover
because he is a very popular
pop artist, who is well known
for his controversial song.
Having this as a cover feature
will attract attention from my
audience as it is a very
controversial subject.
4. Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
Also, in order to appeal to a wider
gendered audience I decided to add
images of other bands and artists
that will appeal to both genders. Not
all bands and artists had a white
British ethnicity. This helps attract
more readers who are also no white
British.
By adding a quote from
the article, it allows the
audience to get a sneak
peek as to what the article
is about, but also highlight
who the person is in the
contents page photo.
The main image is a different vers
Abbie showing her more relaxed,
slightly rock vibe she also has. By
this, it will attract a bigger variety
audience as it is clear that the ma
also supports the rock genre to.
I have used features on my
contents page that appeal to my
target audiences interests. I have
done that by mentioning and artist
that they like and is popular with
either the hipster, rocker or indie
subculture.
Also, as concerts were found to
be many peoples hobbies, there
is a special “Gigs and tours”
section that will appeal to them.
I have included other bands and artist that are between the ages of
16-24. This will help the target audience to relate to these chosen
artists/ bands as they are in a close age range.
5. Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
Here, I used a medium shot image. Due to the fact it is a woman,
means females are most likely to connect and become inspired
by her. From looking at the image, they will be able to get a idea
about her making them want to read the article.
The dark background, helps
to promote her inner rock
vibe. The audience who are
fans of the rock genre will
pick up on this and will want
to read the article.
Her clothing suggests
she is part of the
Hipster or indie
subculture. However,
the bold and dark
make up suggests she
is part of the rock
subculture. The
audience, who are
part of those
subcultures ,will be
and to see that and
immediately build a
connection with the
artist.
Here, I used a drop
cap to emphasise
the “N” in
“newest”. Doing
this helps to
highlight that the
artist is the latest
trend in the music
world.
