2. Bubble Pop- I chose the name bubble pop
as I believe it helps create the relaxed and
‘funky’ feeling that should come with the
genre Pop. The masthead ‘bubble pop’ is
more aimed at a younger audience which is
why I created this name to leave my
options of a target audience open.
Smash- I created the name smash as
I felt it represented the genre Pop in
a unusual way as the noun ‘smash’ is
not usually associated with the genre
of Pop.
Real Pop- This potential masthead is my
favourite as I believe it creates a good
representation of the genre POP as the genre
is said within the masthead as well as the
added interpretation that this magazine will
include ‘Real’ POP. I also feel this masthead
is a suitable one for a target audience of
young students aged 16-19 which is the most
accessible target audience for my location.
POP UP- I created the masthead
‘POP UP’ as I believe it is a good
representation of the genre POP
and also the term ‘POP UP’ is used
for little bits of added information
or advertisements that encourage
an audience to purchase
something which I felt was a good
fit for wanting to make it obvious
that the magazine wants to be
purchased.
Poptastic- The masthead Poptastic is a mix of
the words pop and fantastic which is a positive
interpretation of the genre and immediately
highlights how ‘fantastic’ it is.

These mastheads fonts are good examples of
what I should use for my Pop magazine as
they are clear, thick and bold fonts which
makes the modern and appropriate for a
target audience of students aged 16-19. The
modern fonts are also appropriate for the
genre of Pop as it is ‘funky’ and is
contemporary in todays society. I also feel it is
a good representation of the genre and it is a
popular and fun font just like the pop genre.
The masthead name that I decided to go with was ‘Real Pop’ I chose to go with this masthead as it proved
the most popular during my audience research, as well as being my personal favourite . I was drawn to this
particular masthead as I feel it is the most modern and accurate masthead for my target audience of
students aged 16-19, as this is the most mature and realistic masthead out of my selected five. I also believe
the masthead ‘real pop’ helps to represent the genre well as it gives the impression that this is ‘real’ music,
popular music.
