 Motives refer to the needs, wants, ambitions, impulses etc within individuals.

stimulating them to give maximum from them.
 Stimulate means make more action or interest among employers.
 Psychological phenomenon means motivation act as a factor of inducement.
 Motivation create an eager to do work among subordinates.
 Efficiency ensure working productivity with no waste of money or effort.
 Accomplishment ensure fulfilment of goals within the pre-determined and targeted period.
 Industrial relation is the relationship between the management and the employees.

INTRODUCTION
After usual classroom practice and an informal talk, teacher ask the following questions;
 What you mean by direction?
 What are the elements of direction?
 Do you like sports?
 Do you watch cricket match?
Listen carefully

In the play ground the audience can clap and promote the players to win the match. They
encourage their teams.
 How will it affect the players?
 Whether it helps the players to develop their morale?
PRESENTATION
Suppose you are a manager in a firm. All responsibility rested with in your hands. If the
employer have no morality and commitment on their works. They have no interest in working.
As a manager what will you do to overcome these problems?
This helps the students to identify the meaning of motivation.

DEVELOPMENT
To identify the importance of motivation teacher initiates an example;
Deepak is a manager in an organisation. The employees in the organisation are not interested
in their work because of his stand to workers and the unsoundness of the organisation. What are
the remedial measures we can suggest him to ensure the smooth functioning of his business?

GROUP DISCUSSION
Teacher divide the class into different groups and ask them to discuss the above situation.
Students starts discussion. Teacher participate in each group and facilitate learning. After the
discussion, teacher ask each group to present their points. Students present their points and
teacher refine it and write it on black board.
