After researching different film magazines to advertise her film, Ann Ibasco determined that Sight and Sound would be the most appropriate magazine. She analyzed several magazines and found that Little White Lies did not appeal to her film's target audience or genre. Empire Magazine was too expensive and aimed at a different demographic than her film. However, Sight and Sound focuses on niche and art films, has an older, more intellectual audience, and would help gain appeal for her film trailer.
2. Film magazine
As part of our marketing campaign for advertising our film, our trailer and the
film poster that we have created, we wanted to publish out film from featuring
on a magazine cover.
After carrying some research into films being advertised on magazines, i have
discovered that a specific genre can only be published in a specific Magazine,
this is because different magazines has different type of audiences, just like
Films that are divided into genres.
Magazines are very important and it is a good way to publish and advertise
our film because magazines focuses specifically on Reviews, Ratings and
Actors.

As a result of carrying my research into
magazines, i have decided that i will look into
film magazines such as Empire Magazines,
Film , Entertainment , Sight and sound.
I think that this would be more effective in
gaining a wider audience and interest for our
Film.
4. Analysis of Magazines ā¦
Little White Lies - This is a film magazines which is an internationally
distributed movie magazines. it is published by London- based media
company TCOLondon who also publish the DIY Culture magazine.
The design of each issue is inspired by its feature film, often
represented on the cover by an illustration of itās lead actor. The film
magazine is well known for the abstract looking covers which are
drawn by the artist.
The magazine's costs Ā£3.95 - and their target audience is from the age
of 8 - 30 young professional students that has a significant disposable
income.
By looking at this magazine, i'm not quite too sure that this will be
suitable for our Film, It doesn't appeal to our target audience or the
āgenreā of our film. However, we can still get featured inside the
magazine but not on the front cover.

Sight and Sound - It is a British monthly Film magazine and it is
published by the BFI British Film Institute.
Sight and Sound tends to focus on iconic, independent and
international films that caters to niche audiences.
The main cover image of Sight and Sound tends to be the face of
famous directors or iconic images from cinema. Moreover, the target
audience for this Magazine is catered for older generation that has a
high intellect who think of cinema as an Art.
I think that this Film magazine will be the right magazine to help us
gain appeal to our Trailer.
6. Analysis of Magazines ā¦
Empire Magazine - This i a british film magazine that is published
monthly by Bauer Consumer Media.
The cost of this magazine costs around Ā£4 and this is very expensive
towards our target audience that does not have a significant
disposable income.
Empire magazine is populist in both approach and coverage, it
reviews both mainstream films and art films. Moreover, it is the
biggest selling film magazine in the UK and it is also published in
Australia. Turkey,Russia , POrtugal and in United States.
Based on our trailer we are trying to appeal to female audiences ages
16-20 young teenagers. Choosing this film magazine is not a good
idea as they are focused on middle class males age 16-30 years old.
therefore, i don't think this is similar to our trailer.
7. Based on my research, i feel like Sight and Sound will be the
perfect/appropriate magazine company for us. It focuses on Niche
audiences, and our film could benefit from their target audience and
even gain interest from their audience.
