The AFL-NFL Merger
There were many events that happened in the year 1966. One of them was Ronald Reagan was elected governor of California. Even the first Batman
movie was released in 1966 who was started by Adam West. In the sports world, there was one event that would change the sport of football forever.
On the evening of June 8, 1966, the two major professional American football leagues at that time were the National Football League (NFL) and the
American Football League (AFL) would merge into one league. The league was to be called the National Football League with the same name and
logo. The AFL–NFL merger has so much significant that it became one of the most popular sports leagues in the United States. Football is one of the

Compare And Contrast The Nfl Vs Canada
Professional Football: United States vs. Canada Football, known as "America's Favorite Pastime" currently stands second in popularity in Canada. It is
widely popular in both countries due to increasing fan rate, the popularity of both their championship games, and new generations wanting to play
Football. However, younger players are decreasing because of problems relating to injuries. Although Canada and the United States both have
Professional Football Leagues, many differences in their development made them the leagues that they are today.
Differences in rules and regulations have impacted both leagues and how they are played. One major difference is that the NFL has the fair catch
rule. During kickoffs or punts the player returning the kickoff can catch the ball where they are instead of risking losing possession or yards. One
regulation is that the NFL has four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(subordinate clause first) One thing that makes the NFL so popular is the amount of money that the NFL has. American Football is currently a billion
dollar industry, meaning it gives the NFL more room to expand, grow, and to move teams to other cities. In the past two seasons, three NFL teams
have moved to other cities. Since the Super Bowl was introduced, it has only grown in popularity to where it the most watched T. V. event in the
country. The Super Bowl is even the most watched event in Canada.
Popularity in Canadian Football has also grown in large part due to its many differences to that of American Football. As far as the sports culture in
Canada, Football is a big part of the people's way of life. While many Canadians enjoy football, there are some that feel otherwise. Many Americans do
not give the CFL respect because of the NFL and that they feel that Canadian football is unimportant. A major part of popularity has to do with audience

The speed, the agility, the ability to manoeuvre the ball to the opposing side of the field, the ability to reflect and the ability to outsmart your
opponent is what makes you a real champion. The player sprints across the field, she passes the midfielders, the defenders and without realizing she
knows she's there, just the goalie, the net and her. Prodigious cheers and roars are coming from the crowd, which contemplate the splendid dribbles
that took place. And then... an unbelievable cross from an unrealistic place finds the head of the star striker and the ball goes in and was able to rest
on the back of the net. The crowd goes wild, it is a defining moment in the game, and this is what women's football has developed into, this is what...

They say women have been playing "football" for as long it has existed, evidence suggests that there was an ancient version of the game that was seen
by FIFA as the earliest form of football, called Tsu Chu, which involves kicking a ball through an opening space into a net. The use of hands is not
allowed.
There are many dates estimated recognized as the first matches ever recorded, Scotland has been the country were women football has mainly taken
place. There is evidence of an annual match being played in Scotland in the early 1790s, but the first match was recorded by the Scottish Football
Association which took place in 1892 in Glasgow. In England, the first recorded match of football played between women took place in 1895.
Throughout the years, women football has become more civilised, The Football Association has documented early involvement of Women in Europe.
They say in 12th century French Women have been playing football as part of the era's folk games, also in the 1790's Scotland included football in the
annual Mid–Lothian competition, evidence shows the fact that women have been playing this sport for as long as men have.
In 1863, the FIFA and head football governing bodies introduced a more civilised threat to the game, they introduced standardized rules to avoid and
prohibit violence in the field, making the game more safe and more acceptable for women to take part in. The most

Nowadays, EPL becomes one of the most popular and lucrative sports organization which the weekly audience reaching 103 million, turnover and

Application – Consumer Behavior
The want is the most important reason of consumption on EPL matches, it is also the sources of need recognition of the customers. The wants could be
defined as people's desire to seek entertainment in leisure and family–time, sports–lovers' wants to support their own team, and in some cases,
consumers' zealotry for big games.
Potential customers would do information search before making decision. At this time, public sources like newspaper (e.g. match reports) and
television (e.g. highlights and goals of a week) give them information of the match feature. Personal sources like comments, discussions or even debates
between friends are providing information as well, meanwhile, friend becomes the influencer, who would persuade and push the consumption.
It is a norm that people would support the football league of their own country. Chart (Ofcom & Human Capital, 2005) also illustrates that half of
the respondents support EPL as they concern their own teams, the reason is mostly accord with their locations or

My Cultural Analysis Of ' The League '
For my cultural analysis essay I decided to base it off of a popular television series and one of my personal favorites called "The League". The League
was created by Jeff and Jackie Shaffer a couple who are both producers and television writers. The show is about a group of friends who come together
every year for football season and they create a fantasy football league that includes all of them in it. All throughout football season, fantasy football is
something that is taken very serious to them and the main goal of it is to try to win the leagues trophy and avoid the loser trophy. Winning the
championship trophy allows you to have all the bragging rights within the whole league which something that is very important to them. ... Show more

This is a show for both genders ranging from the ages I would suggest 18 or older as some of the jokes used may be for an older audience. The
show is based in the city of Chicago with a group of friends who all grew up together and went to the same schools. Each character is now in there
late 20s through early 30 playing the role of early careers and new parenthood. Every character shares a different relationship with one another but
they are all very close. The main characters of the show and the 6 friends in the fantasy football league together are Pete, Kevin, Rodney, Andre, Taco
& Jenny. All throughout the show you get to know everyones personality, they all play different roles within the show but all piece together perfectly.
Just like every show, The League has various messages; whether its on purpose or on accidental they're there without a doubt. From modern stereotypes
to sexism and more throughout the characters and situations, it has its wide share of problems. The NFL and American Football has always been known

been put all throughout show intentionally and unintentionally which isn't fair to everyone. Through every character in the show there area

The National Football League And Its Effect On Society
The National Football League was created in September, 1920 and has since influenced America not only economically but personally as the sport's
dangers are slowly unmasked. The National Football League has been covering up the corruption that has been going on for many decades and as
people begin to dig, many hidden truths are beginning to be uncovered. When people think about the NFL, they are reminded of the sport that many
have loved so much but little does our society realize the major economic effects that the NFL has on America. Not all of us realize how much of our
tax dollars go towards new football stadiums, the massive parking lots used for games, and the football players themselves. The National Football
League claims to be nonprofit, yet it is clear that it is far from that. In addition to the economic effects, it also has a more personal impact on our
lives as more research is showing the health hazards of playing football. The multiple head traumas that football players get leads to chronic
conditions such as CTE, a newer diagnosis, which causes many players to experience symptoms such as brain deterioration, suicidal thoughts and
ultimately death. Many parents put their kids in a football league starting at a very young age but are unaware of the dangers they are exposing their
children to.There have been several cases of sudden deaths from young players including Andre Jackson, a football player from Ohio High School
who died suddenly two days after

MANU Soccer Academy
Tom Owen, football fanatic, has been in a close personal relationship with the game his entire life. Owen came to the United States from the U.K. in

creation of a successful training camp. His Soccer Academy, MANU, has had great success in his Colorado hometown of Fort Collins. As we explore

This makes it more difficult to expand into distant markets because Owen can only be in one place at a time.
Lastly, we will look at the possible threats. Fortunately, because of MANU's niche market in their current location, their external threats are somewhat
limited. Most of MANU's threats come from the external environment such as the economic environment. Parents may regard soccer camp as a
relatively elastic service and be willing to go without it because of the economic downturn and growing unemployment. This may be looked at as a
luxury that can be done without.
The analysis provided an overview for MANU Soccer Academy and seems to show that MANU is completely prepared to go ahead with the
expansion. The main issue that could impact the success of MANU's expansion lies in the economic environment. The economy is currently in a
recession.
A large portion of MANU's customers live in the immediate area. There are also several largely populated area around this area. This makes way
for MANU to expand the coverage area. There is relatively low direct competition for MANU in Tom's immediate or surrounding area. The target
buyer for the services that MANU provides is competitive soccer players ages 11 to 14. However, the ultimate buyer is the mother of the soccer
player. One must market to both mother and child.

Antitrust Law And The Antitrust Laws
ANTITRUST
Antitrust law in the United States is a collection of federal and state government laws regulating the conduct and organization of business corporations
with the intent to promote fair competition in an open–market economy for the benefit of the public. Congress passed the first antitrust statute, the
Sherman Antitrust Act, in 1890 in response to the public outrage toward big business. In 1914, Congress passed two additional antitrust laws: the
Federal Trade Commission Act and the Clayton Act. (The Antitrust Laws. Web.)

In 1961, Congress passed the Sports Broadcasting Act which allowed major professional sports to pool the broadcast rights of its member clubs to
negotiate television broadcast agreements that normally would have violated federal antitrust laws. (21 Jeffery S. Moorad Sports Law Journal 577)
This antitrust exemption enabled the NFL to protect its primary revenue source of live attendance by negotiating with the networks as to when and
where games would be televised.
Five years later, in 1966, Congress passed the Public Law 89–900 which had a major impact on how the NFL would be examined under federal law.
The statue contained an antitrust provision that allowed for the merger of the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL)
without the threat of an antitrust challenge under the Clayton Antitrust Act or Federal Trade Commissions Act. The act stated that: "such laws shall
not apply to a joint agreement by which the member clubs of two or more professional football leagues, which are exempt from income tax under
section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, combine their operations in expanded single league so exempt from income tax, if such
agreement increases rather than decreases the number of professional football clubs so operating, and the provisions of which are directly relevant

Nerds of the Football World
It's a typical Fall Sunday afternoon and millions of people are huddled around their televisions at home, or at sports bars watching their local team's
battle on the gridiron for football supremacy. Meanwhile, a growing number of the most diehard football fanatics are sitting around their computers.
Why aren't they watching the game you may wonder? It's simple. A new phenomenon called FantasyFootball is sweeping the nation.
The goal of fantasy football is to compile a group of players taken from the National Football League (NFL) that will out perform your opponents. Each
player you select earns points for doing certain things within the real NFL game each week. Players score points by rushing for a ... Show more content

There are a variety of different strategies on how, and who to draft. The first time player may look at the game and decide to simply draft who he
or she thinks will score the most points, and if they are lucky they might end up with a .500 record. The experienced player knows that it's not only
how many points the player drafted will score, but also the demand of the player. Running backs are usually the highest in demand due to the high
rate of injury at the position. Stocking up on two or three running backs with your first several picks is a common draft strategy. If your primary
running back goes down with an injury, which will likely happen at least once throughout any season, it's imperative to have a decent backup. While
you can pick up new players throughout the season off the waiver wire (undrafted players), it is likely that by the time you need a new running back,
no one decent will be left.
Now that you've secured a couple of running backs it's time to start looking for your value picks. Every draft is different, and who you choose will
be decided as much by what you still need, as by what other players have drafted. If your fellow league members start grabbing quarterbacks early for
example, you might find a premier wide receiver ripe for the picking. Don't jump on the bandwagon and start drafting quarterbacks just because

The Differences Between Football And Nfl Football
There are over 200 million unique viewers that watch football every year. College and NFL football is one of the major things that can seise
Americans from thinking about all of the awful things in the world and unite people together. Certain things come with each league that are different
and similar to each other. There are even some areas of both leagues that people most likely did not even know about either of them. These two
notorious football leagues have many similarities and differences in the way that they are constructed and played.
The different rules of each league have an impact on how the game flows and how it is played. Each rule has many factors that can manipulate the
outcome of the call on the football field during a game. In this case either league has their own idea of what a catch has to consists of to be considered
one. For college football, the player who catches the ball only has to have one foot in bounds and retain a firm grasp on the ball. On the other hand,
NFL has a different set of rules for what a catch has to consist of. In the NFL just like college the player has to maintain possession of the ball. But,
the main difference between the two rules according to Cyd Zeigler (2015), is that the player "touches the ground inbounds with both feet"(para. 9).
This can cause a higher level of difficulty towards the players to perform a catch. There are other rules between the two leagues that are differently
constructed. Both leagues have different rule

The Pros And Cons Of The NFL As A NFL
Professional football is known to dominate all other American sports. Prime–time football is an essential part of American culture. Each year
anticipation for the start of the new season builds as dedicated fans eagerly await for game time. People can't help but love the high energy and
intensity each game provides. Once a favorite team is picked, fans follow the season in hopes that their team makes big at the Super Bowl. Whether
going to experience a game in person or being able to watch it on T.V the love people have for football is evident. TheNational Football League's
popularity draws in the largest amount of fans who fill stadiums to full capacity and even more viewers who watch the broadcasts. The NFL is a huge
market that many consider displaying monopoly power. I believe that the NFL is indeed a monopoly due to the lack of competition/substitutes at that
level, the high barriers to entry, and their economies of scale.
Since the formation of the NFL, numerous football leagues have attempted to compete for control over the professional football market. The National
Football League has successfully been able to eliminate their rivals from the market. In 1926, the American Football League (1st AFL) merged called it
quits after not making enough profits. In 1937, the American Football League (2nd AFL) stopped its league after having reached limited audiences. In
1942, the American Football League (3rd AFL) permanently discontinued their league due to the toll of World War II. In 1947, the World Football
League (WFL) ceased to exist because of being in a smaller market and not having enough money. In 1949, the All–American Football Conference
(AAFC) became incapable of maintaining its league as a result of the direct competition it faced from the NFL. During this time period, professional
football had a relatively small market. The minimal number of attendees, as well as financial problems, caused the AAFC to merge with the NFL. The
All–American Football Conference willingly handed over the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Indianapolis Colts (formerly the
Baltimore Colts) to the National Football League. In 1970, the All American Football League (final AFL) and the National

I 'm Not Much Of A Crier
I'm not much of a crier. I think I cried at Marley and Me, but if you have a dog and didn't cry at that film then questions certainly need to be asked.
Men will aim to avoid falling under the category of 'criers'. It will take away part of their masculinity and feel like a sign of weakness.
One thing in life though, will reduce many men (including myself) to tears... and that's football. It has done so on several occasions in the past and
will do for years to come in the future.
95% of the time these are tears of misery, heartache, despondency, regret, embarrassment, dejection, anger, rage, sorrow, misery, despair, or in my case
as a QPR fan, all of the above.
But what doesn't make sense to many people is why, why, why, despite the feelings of crippling depression football leaves us with, do we keep going
back?
And the reason for this is that 5%. Every football fan will understand what I mean when I say there are two or three moments in past matches that you
can say you were there to witness, moments that caused an indescribable feeling unlike any other, one that you will remember for the rest of your life.
This moment will last a matter of seconds, but will stay with you forever, and as cheesy as it sounds and as cringe worthy as it feels typing this, it's true.

Nfl Popular Sports
Football is a very popular sport in the United States. Many people enjoy watching their favorite teams play and tailgating before the event starts. Even
though many people enjoy it, not many know the history of the sport. Before football became a famous sport, it was just a game, now it is one of the
most famous franchises in the world. The National Football League was founded in 1920, as the American Professional Football Association with ten
teams from four states, all of whom existed in some form as participants of regional leagues in their respective territories; it became the National
Football League in 1922. The NFL was the first professional football league to successfully be established as a nationwide presence, after many years
of failed attempts. There are only two teams still in the NFL, the Decatur Staleys (now the Chicago Bears) and the Chicago Cardinals (now the Arizona
Cardinals), are founding members. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Harris Poll, football became the most popular sport, ahead of baseball in 1965, during the emergence of the NFL's challenger, the
American Football League, as a major professional football league. Football has been the most popular sport in America ever since. In a Harris Poll
conducted in 2008, the NFL was the favorite sport of as many people (30%) as the combined total of the next three professional sports – baseball
(15%), auto racing (10%), and hockey (5%). Additionally, football's American television viewership ratings now surpass those of other sports, although
football season comprises far fewer games than the seasons of other sports. The NFL has the highest per–game attendance of any domestic professional
sports league in the world. The NFL's overall attendance, however, is only approximately 20 percent of Major League Baseball, because of the latter's

National Football League Players Association Case Summary
Since 1920, the year the National Football League was founded, multiple issues have come up regarding bargaining and anti–trust law. The National
Football League Players Association, also known as the NFLPA, the labor organization representing the individual players, was founded in 1956. Its
main goal was, and still is, to get the best bargaining agreement for the players, making sure all the needs and interests have been met. However, the
job of those working at the National Football League Players Association does not end once leaving the collective bargaining table. Since founding,
over 60 years ago, the organization has filed multiple lawsuits on behalf of the players and facilitated strikes to give the players leverage in exercising

The National Football League has a Commissioner, who is supposed to be the voice for the owners, in addition to all the lawyers at the bargaining
table. Currently, Roger Goodell holds the position, yet his term, while short, already has controversy around it. Some examples include Ray Rice and
Ezekiel Elliot and their domestic violence scandals, as well as the New England Patriots and the "Deflategate" incident. On the opposite end of the
spectrum lies the executive director for the National Football League Players Association, DeMaurice Smith. For a long time, however, Gene Upshaw
held the position until his passing away in 2008. The relationship between these two leaders affects the bargaining table and how willing each side is
to negotiate. Paul Tagliabue and Gene Upshaw worked together in a different way, fostering a relationship that proved beneficial at the bargaining

Rhetorical Analysis
Scandal, bribery, and corruption: all aspects of everyday life, and sports. With countless scandals hitting the news every day, it is easy to see that
sports "players" are no exception. With scandal comes crisis communication. Rhetors use strategic language and techniques to save face and restore
image after a scandal. Apologia theory is a crisis communication concept which aims to categorize the strategies used in rhetoric to apologize, defend
oneself, and restore an individual or organization 's image. Theorist have studied famous speeches and situations from Bill Clinton to Tiger woods,

Is Soccer More Important Than Soccer
My soccer coach for my select team has always taught me that winning isn't everything. My coach prepared my team for life more than just soccer.
Anytime we thought we were going to be late, we had to communicate with him beforehand. We never had to run because we didn't win. He only
cared if we tried our hardest and gave it our best effort. My coach taught me how to be a good man while teaching me how to be a good soccer player
as well.
My coaches name was coach Matt. He had been coaching me since I was in second grade which was when I started playing select soccer. At first, it
was just all of my friends wanting to play soccer outside of school. We weren't that good, but we had so much fun playing that it didn't matter if we
were good or bad. Our team has been together all this time. Most teams break up or move to new teams after three or four years but not us. All of the
kids stayed on this team because we knew how good of a man our coach was and how he was going to help us develop both as soccer players and as
men.
Another thing that my coach has taught me is that school is always more important than soccer. My coach would always check up on my teammates
and I to see how were doing in school. My coach enjoyed hearing us talk about things other than soccer like hobbies, school, and family. He liked
getting to know us and he thought that getting to know each other was also important for us. He thought that if we communicated better outside of
soccer, we would communicate

On 23rd June 2016, there will be an important referendum for the UK and its economy to resolve whether the UK leaves the EU or not. The
decision that will be made by the British citizens will effect on a lot of sectors in many ways. However, it is expected that especially sports industry
which has been globally developing nowadays will be the most influenced on by that decision. The purpose of the report is to identify what are the
advantages and disadvantages for sport–related organisations caused by the case of the UK leaving the EU. In this report, it will be focusing on

Because of this, Manchester City cannot spend as much money on signing foreign talent as these players will face difficulty to work in the UK,
meaning the club can instead invest the money that they would have spent on players in their youth academy. 'Home–grown players could benefit from
a Brexit' (Slater 2016). Appendix 1 shows that Manchester City is in the bottom 4 of the Premier League for a number of British players used by the
club, so to switch from buying players abroad to investing into the youth academy means that it is a positive for Manchester City as it will make it a
more traditional British club. What this does for Manchester City is inherit the squad to become more of a Manchester–like club as they can focus on
bringing up home–grown players from their youth academy meaning there will be an increase in the amount of British players in the club as at the
moment there are only 4 British players within the 24 men first team of Manchester City. What this also does for Manchester City is help the
economic situation they face themselves with as for example a player who recently has been promoted from the youth academy into the first team is

Malcolm Gladwell Ten Thousand Hours Analysis
The 10,000 hour rule in Malcolm Gladwell's book "Outliers" states that "...ten thousand hours of practice is required to achieve the level of mastery
associated with being a world class–expert––– in anything." I disagree with this statement, but if I were to change it so that it was more agreeable, I
would change it so that it would say, "...to most people, ten thousand hours of practice is required to achieve the possibility of becoming a world class–
expert–– in anything." Evidence of astronauts who became experts under 10,000 hours, comedians' god given natural humor, and evidence of
exceptional soccer players and volleyball players' heights all show why Malcolm Gladwell's "ten thousand hours" isn't completely true. I added "to most

Skyler plays for a volleyball club in Bloomington called Illini Elite, which is considered one of the best clubs in the state. They have many
different teams ranging in skill level, kind of like the english professional leagues. From the top, there is the Cardinal team, Black team, White
team, and then red, and so on. The top three teams go to florida to play a national tournament to compete in front of many college coaches in hopes
to get noticed. Skyler, who is looking to play college volleyball, really wanted to go to the national tournament, practiced way more than the other
kids in the club, worked harder, and played better than everyone, but after tryouts, was placed on the red team all because she was short.. She was
so devastated and hurt that she almost quite volleyball completely. Gladwell failed to mention roadblocks like physical characteristics when
making his claim, also giving the reader a false sense of power and control. He makes everyone think that as long as they work hard and practice
for 10,000 hours, they will become experts, but as we all know, it is impossible to "practice" getting tall for 10,000 hours, because it just is not
possible. And because Gladwell failed to mention these unchangeable roadblocks, people like Skyler, who gave everything 110%, paid the price.
Overall, I disagree with Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hour rule, but think that it could be corrected so that it is more accurate. Evidence of exceptional
IQ, natural talent, and Height are great examples of why intellect, and talent help people become experts at what they do without the need of hitting

The Performance Of Premier League Football Teams
Is there any correlation between changing managers and football clubs' results? Managers often find themselves being sacked and replaced,
sometimes only lasting a matter of days before having to move on. In this essay I will be investigating the performance of Premier League football
teams, both with a change of manager and without, to see if there is evidence of a correlation between the changing managers and the results of
football clubs. A look at the data from the past three seasons shows that "Manchester City" was consistently ranked in the top three on the league
table. In earlier years though, they were not as successful. For example, in 2009, they came 10th. Upon changing manager, in 2010 they climbed 5
places, making it to 2nd by 2013. Finally, when Manuel Pellegrini took over for the 2013/2014, they made it to 1st place. For this team, it can be
assumed that a change in manager led to better results. Another strong team according to data is "Chelsea". In 2013, when Rafael Benitez was
manager, they finished in 3rd place. They then changed manager, to JosГ© Mourinho, finishing 2nd in 2014, and 1st in 2015. These teams show
evidence that a change in manager was beneficial, as they showed improvement when this occurred. "Southampton" also appears to prove correlation
between a change in management and the team's outcomes. In 2012, with Nigel Adkins, they placed 14th at the end of the season. When Mauricio
Pochettino came into control in 2013, they jumped up to 8th in

Fifa Of The World Cup
You are in the World Cup. Its the biggest sporting event in the world. You are representing your country, and the fans are cheering you. The game
starts and right away you can tell it's going to be a rough game. The referee starts calling everything against you and nothing for you. There isn't
anything you can do. You will for sure lose the game. Soccer is a very great sport but, it has FIFAcorruption, illegal transfers, and fixed matches.
FIFA corruption happens because of the desire of money. "FIFA original mission was to support the growth and spread of soccer. They try to
achieve this by hosting competitions at all levels and ages. Fifa promotes soccer through campaigns against discrimination in the lines of race,
politics, and religion."("What is FIFA?") For the most part they have been very good at the spread and growth of soccer. One way they helped spread
soccer is letting different countries host the World Cup. After letting Africa and America host it, soccer was growing very fast around the world. They
have done pretty good in the discrimination part because they usually ban a player or fan if they are found discriminating against someone.
Although they do these really great things sometimes FIFA will go against their mission and be corrupt. For example, "In May the US indicted 14
current and former Fifa officials and associates on charges of "rampant, systemic, and deep–rooted" corruption. Another of fifa being corrupt is on
December, 16 officials were charged

Academy of Light) to the human resources, (Players, Management, and Administrative Staff). Tangible Resources 1.Physical– Buildings owned by the
club. The most obvious being the Stadium of Light and the Club's training ground, The Academy of Light. These, particularly the Stadium are being
developed by use for other events and Conference venues and open up other revenue streams. 2.Financial – money coming into the Club, via player
sales, sales of match tickets and programmes, club merchandise, subscriptions to SAFC TV (the club's own on–line TV) and from use of the Stadium
as a Conference Venue and for staging Rock Concerts. Intangible Resources Resources which the Club has but cannot be touched, these include:–
1.History – Under the management of Roy Keane, photographs of the Club's various League and Cup triumphs and of Famous former players were
placed on the walls of the Player's Tunnel 2.Reputation – The Club built its reputation in the early years of British football, the 1870s through to the

Racism In Football Essay
My favorite sport is soccer that is also known as football in Europe and most of the parts of the world. It is hugely popular game in the world and
this is why it is the most played game of the world and almost all the countries of the Europe have their own football leagues and the Barclays premier
league of England is the most widely watched league of all, even in the countries that don't have a proper football setup and team like India and
Pakistan. Other countries of different continents also have their own leagues but that are not very much popular around the world. This game has
everything for people of all the age groups and that is why it is widely played, followed and liked all around the world.
Football is one of the most ancient game of the world and there are proofs that this game was played in one form or another in many old
civilizations and this can be seen the portraits and paintings of these old civilizations in which people were seen playing football and this is probably
the biggest reason due to which the game is very popular around the world and is played all around the world and it has been transferred to each other
through generations.
Problem:
There are some problems that can be associated with this game and the biggest one of them is racism. Even after all these years and fight against
racism the plague of racism has not been completely removed from the game of the football and events of racism can be seen after every few days.

Manchester's United Of The Football League
Prior to the arrival of Matt Busby, Manchester's United's chapter in the history of English football begins with the founding of Newton–Heath LYR
[Lancashire–Yorkshire Railway] Football Club in 1878 (Manchester United F.C., В§1878–1909). Football was the most popular sport in the nearby
counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire in the mid–1800s, and it enjoyed popularity in Manchester as well (Harvey, 57, 67). One historian attributes part
of its success to the abundance of playing space and events sanctioned by local business owners seeking to increase revenue (Harvey, 67). Newton
Health LYR joined the Football League in 1892, and was rechristened Manchester United after an early infusion of funding. After moderate success
through 1920 that prompted the construction of and relocation to Old Trafford, the club entered a period of stagnation and decline, characterized by
relatively poor performance and plagued by financial difficulties. This floundering was exacerbated by public perception of association football as an
undignified, inferior sport. Academic institutions, swayed by the "patriotic" qualities of toughness and leadership emphasized by rugby and perceived
to be absent in football, opted to field rugby teams (Taylor, 122). Numerous scandals further tarnished association football's reputation, the most notable
of which involved Manchester United and Liverpool F.C. Players from both sides, after arranging bets on the match outcome, ensured a win for

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The NFL
The strengths of the National Football League or NFL are rooted deep in the fabric of America. There is an undeniable tribal nature to the sport of
American Football. All across the country devoted fanatics cheer on their teams may they be unpaid college students or millionaire household
names. Football is not just a sport in America, it is cherished, tattooed and celebrated. The NFL benefits from having football being a common
conversation point in schools and workplaces. From fantasy football leagues to highly intricate betting in Las Vegas. There is not just passion, but
dollars and time being invested by the end consumer. The NFL saturates Thanksgiving television, it's players are often celebrities, its story lines are
on the tip the American male. Knowing the game of football is often a rite of passage. Football is American tradition. The NFL clearly has it's place
in American culture. It is evident in the outpouring of corporate sponsors into the league. Companies recognize the visibility NFL players offer to their
products and the NFL leverages that back into its brand. All aspects surrounding the sport are sponsored. From the sports drink the players slurp then
dump on their coaches after victories–to the on–the–field tablets branded with the iconic window for drawing up plays. The jerseys, cleats, gloves, hats,
helmets, pads–and that is just on the field. There's food, cars, watches, headphones–it seems everything that scrapes past the NFL becomes sponsored in
some way. Backing from the NFL appears to currently have exponential upside increasing brand awareness.
The National Football League has made many people rich, but it is not short of problems, controversy and appauling storylines. The two weaknesses I
can identify are issues in player discipline and player health. The NFL is inconsistent in how it disciplines its players. Some have reframed this as an
"league image" issue caused by reckless however the statistics support that the league itself is equally to blame for the bad reputation. According to
independent research, McCann (2014) states, "The NFL's punishment of personal conduct violations has been inconsistent and on average less harsh
than its punishment of drug offenses" . There are

Since Schwartz and Barsky's study (1977), home advantage is well established at both amateur and professional level in many sports (Gomez et al.,
2008; Varca, 1980) not just in soccer but in all sports, according to (R Pollard and G Pollared et al, 2007) home advantage can be seen in Baseball,
Basketball, American football, hockey and soccer. Specifically for soccer, home advantage has been shown to exist since the start ofthe Football League
in England in 1888 1889 and has been shown to continue across all the leagues of the professional sport since the early years (Nevill and Holder, 1999;
Pollard and Pollard, 2005, Sanchez et al., 2009). In an attempt to improve the understanding of the occurrence, Courneya and Carron (1992) proposed
an outline to investigate the effects of the match location or competition and any subsequent home advantage. The framework comprised five
interrelated components suggested to influence home advantage, including the match venue, game location factors, the critical psychological and
behavioural states of the competitors, coaches, and officials, and the subsequent performance

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Nfl Vs Canada Professional Football: United States vs. Canada Football, known as "America's Favorite Pastime" currently stands second in popularity in Canada. It is widely popular in both countries due to increasing fan rate, the popularity of both their championship games, and new generations wanting to play Football. However, younger players are decreasing because of problems relating to injuries. Although Canada and the United States both have Professional Football Leagues, many differences in their development made them the leagues that they are today. Differences in rules and regulations have impacted both leagues and how they are played. One major difference is that the NFL has the fair catch rule. During kickoffs or punts the player returning the kickoff can catch the ball where they are instead of risking losing possession or yards. One regulation is that the NFL has four ... American Football is currently a billion dollar industry, meaning it gives the NFL more room to expand, grow, and to move teams to other cities. In the past two seasons, three NFL teams have moved to other cities. Since the Super Bowl was introduced, it has only grown in popularity to where it the most watched T. V. event in the country. The Super Bowl is even the most watched event in Canada. Popularity in Canadian Football has also grown in large part due to its many differences to that of American Football. As far as the sports culture in Canada, Football is a big part of the people's way of life. While many Canadians enjoy football, there are some that feel otherwise. Many Americans do not give the CFL respect because of the NFL and that they feel that Canadian football is unimportant. A major part of popularity has to do with audience ... The speed, the agility, the ability to manoeuvre the ball to the opposing side of the field, the ability to reflect and the ability to outsmart your opponent is what makes you a real champion. The player sprints across the field, she passes the midfielders, the defenders and without realizing she knows she's there, just the goalie, the net and her. Prodigious cheers and roars are coming from the crowd, which contemplate the splendid dribbles that took place. And then... an unbelievable cross from an unrealistic place finds the head of the star striker and the ball goes in and was able to rest on the back of the net. They say women have been playing "football" for as long it has existed, evidence suggests that there was an ancient version of the game that was seen by FIFA as the earliest form of football, called Tsu Chu, which involves kicking a ball through an opening space into a net. The use of hands is not allowed. There are many dates estimated recognized as the first matches ever recorded, Scotland has been the country were women football has mainly taken place. There is evidence of an annual match being played in Scotland in the early 1790s, but the first match was recorded by the Scottish Football Association which took place in 1892 in Glasgow. In England, the first recorded match of football played between women took place in 1895. Throughout the years, women football has become more civilised, The Football Association has documented early involvement of Women in Europe. They say in 12th century French Women have been playing football as part of the era's folk games, also in the 1790's Scotland included football in the annual Mid–Lothian competition, evidence shows the fact that women have been playing this sport for as long as men have. Mason Paulik made it and it is called The Harambe, in memory of the gorilla, and a shirt and hat with Harambe on it. ВЁI worked hard to make The Harambe and if I get to keep him I will be very happy!ВЁ Mason exclaimed. Mason also said that, "our league is very intense."The loser does not just get the shame of coming in last but they also need to take a small sip of whatever drink everyone else makes or they have to jump into a river in the middle of winter. Also, the loser has to keep a trophy shaped like a toilet all year long. • 11. The National Football League And Its Effect On Society The National Football League was created in September, 1920 and has since influenced America not only economically but personally as the sport's dangers are slowly unmasked. The National Football League has been covering up the corruption that has been going on for many decades and as people begin to dig, many hidden truths are beginning to be uncovered. When people think about the NFL, they are reminded of the sport that many have loved so much but little does our society realize the major economic effects that the NFL has on America. Not all of us realize how much of our tax dollars go towards new football stadiums, the massive parking lots used for games, and the football players themselves. The National Football League claims to be nonprofit, yet it is clear that it is far from that. In addition to the economic effects, it also has a more personal impact on our lives as more research is showing the health hazards of playing football. The multiple head traumas that football players get leads to chronic conditions such as CTE, a newer diagnosis, which causes many players to experience symptoms such as brain deterioration, suicidal thoughts and ultimately death. Many parents put their kids in a football league starting at a very young age but are unaware of the dangers they are exposing their children to.There have been several cases of sudden deaths from young players including Andre Jackson, a football player from Ohio High School who died suddenly two days after ... The first time player may look at the game and decide to simply draft who he or she thinks will score the most points, and if they are lucky they might end up with a .500 record. The experienced player knows that it's not only how many points the player drafted will score, but also the demand of the player. Running backs are usually the highest in demand due to the high rate of injury at the position. Stocking up on two or three running backs with your first several picks is a common draft strategy. If your primary running back goes down with an injury, which will likely happen at least once throughout any season, it's imperative to have a decent backup. While you can pick up new players throughout the season off the waiver wire (undrafted players), it is likely that by the time you need a new running back, no one decent will be left. College and NFL football is one of the major things that can seise Americans from thinking about all of the awful things in the world and unite people together. Certain things come with each league that are different and similar to each other. There are even some areas of both leagues that people most likely did not even know about either of them. These two notorious football leagues have many similarities and differences in the way that they are constructed and played. The different rules of each league have an impact on how the game flows and how it is played. Each rule has many factors that can manipulate the outcome of the call on the football field during a game. In this case either league has their own idea of what a catch has to consists of to be considered one. For college football, the player who catches the ball only has to have one foot in bounds and retain a firm grasp on the ball. On the other hand, NFL has a different set of rules for what a catch has to consist of. In the NFL just like college the player has to maintain possession of the ball. But, the main difference between the two rules according to Cyd Zeigler (2015), is that the player "touches the ground inbounds with both feet"(para. 9). This can cause a higher level of difficulty towards the players to perform a catch. There are other rules between the two leagues that are differently constructed. TheNational Football League's popularity draws in the largest amount of fans who fill stadiums to full capacity and even more viewers who watch the broadcasts. The NFL is a huge market that many consider displaying monopoly power. I believe that the NFL is indeed a monopoly due to the lack of competition/substitutes at that level, the high barriers to entry, and their economies of scale. Since the formation of the NFL, numerous football leagues have attempted to compete for control over the professional football market. The National Football League has successfully been able to eliminate their rivals from the market. In 1926, the American Football League (1st AFL) merged called it quits after not making enough profits. In 1937, the American Football League (2nd AFL) stopped its league after having reached limited audiences. In 1942, the American Football League (3rd AFL) permanently discontinued their league due to the toll of World War II. In 1947, the World Football League (WFL) ceased to exist because of being in a smaller market and not having enough money. In 1949, the All–American Football Conference (AAFC) became incapable of maintaining its league as a result of the direct competition it faced from the NFL. During this time period, professional football had a relatively small market. The minimal number of attendees, as well as financial problems, caused the AAFC to merge with the NFL. The All–American Football Conference willingly handed over the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Indianapolis Colts (formerly the Baltimore Colts) to the National Football League. She was so devastated and hurt that she almost quite volleyball completely. Gladwell failed to mention roadblocks like physical characteristics when making his claim, also giving the reader a false sense of power and control. He makes everyone think that as long as they work hard and practice for 10,000 hours, they will become experts, but as we all know, it is impossible to "practice" getting tall for 10,000 hours, because it just is not possible. And because Gladwell failed to mention these unchangeable roadblocks, people like Skyler, who gave everything 110%, paid the price. Overall, I disagree with Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hour rule, but think that it could be corrected so that it is more accurate. Evidence of exceptional IQ, natural talent, and Height are great examples of why intellect, and talent help people become experts at what they do without the need of hitting 10,000 ... • 29. The Performance Of Premier League Football Teams Is there any correlation between changing managers and football clubs' results? Managers often find themselves being sacked and replaced, sometimes only lasting a matter of days before having to move on. In this essay I will be investigating the performance of Premier League football teams, both with a change of manager and without, to see if there is evidence of a correlation between the changing managers and the results of football clubs. A look at the data from the past three seasons shows that "Manchester City" was consistently ranked in the top three on the league table. In earlier years though, they were not as successful. For example, in 2009, they came 10th. Upon changing manager, in 2010 they climbed 5 places, making it to 2nd by 2013. Finally, when Manuel Pellegrini took over for the 2013/2014, they made it to 1st place. For this team, it can be assumed that a change in manager led to better results. Another strong team according to data is "Chelsea". In 2013, when Rafael Benitez was manager, they finished in 3rd place. They then changed manager, to JosГ© Mourinho, finishing 2nd in 2014, and 1st in 2015. These teams show evidence that a change in manager was beneficial, as they showed improvement when this occurred. "Southampton" also appears to prove correlation between a change in management and the team's outcomes. In 2012, with Nigel Adkins, they placed 14th at the end of the season. When Mauricio Pochettino came into control in 2013, they jumped up to 8th in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Fifa Of The World Cup You are in the World Cup. Its the biggest sporting event in the world. You are representing your country, and the fans are cheering you. The game starts and right away you can tell it's going to be a rough game. The referee starts calling everything against you and nothing for you. There isn't anything you can do. You will for sure lose the game. Soccer is a very great sport but, it has FIFAcorruption, illegal transfers, and fixed matches. FIFA corruption happens because of the desire of money. "FIFA original mission was to support the growth and spread of soccer. They try to achieve this by hosting competitions at all levels and ages. Fifa promotes soccer through campaigns against discrimination in the lines of race, politics, and religion."("What is FIFA?") For the most part they have been very good at the spread and growth of soccer. One way they helped spread soccer is letting different countries host the World Cup. After letting Africa and America host it, soccer was growing very fast around the world. They have done pretty good in the discrimination part because they usually ban a player or fan if they are found discriminating against someone. Although they do these really great things sometimes FIFA will go against their mission and be corrupt. For example, "In May the US indicted 14 current and former Fifa officials and associates on charges of "rampant, systemic, and deep–rooted" corruption. Another of fifa being corrupt is on December, 16 officials were charged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although in their own Mission and Value statement they describe themselves as a franchise business. The STEP analysis proved to be relatively easy, in some was it is similar to SWOT, in that once a start has been made it is difficult to stop. I used a copy of their 2011 Annual Report as the basis for the analysis, this did make things difficult in term of economic factors as the report was mainly financial information and based towards shareholders use. The best I could come up with was exchange rate fluctuations which affect the business being the global enterprise it is, also income affecting customers. Too little and they stop eating out,... Internally Sunderland has several resources, ranging from tangible, (finance and physical resources for example the Stadium of Light and Academy of Light) to the human resources, (Players, Management, and Administrative Staff). Tangible Resources 1.Physical– Buildings owned by the club. The most obvious being the Stadium of Light and the Club's training ground, The Academy of Light. These, particularly the Stadium are being developed by use for other events and Conference venues and open up other revenue streams. 2.Financial – money coming into the Club, via player sales, sales of match tickets and programmes, club merchandise, subscriptions to SAFC TV (the club's own on–line TV) and from use of the Stadium as a Conference Venue and for staging Rock Concerts. Intangible Resources Resources which the Club has but cannot be touched, these include:– 1.History – Under the management of Roy Keane, photographs of the Club's various League and Cup triumphs and of Famous former players were placed on the walls of the Player's Tunnel 2.Reputation – The Club built its reputation in the early years of British football, the 1870s through to the 1950s. • 32. Racism In Football Essay My favorite sport is soccer that is also known as football in Europe and most of the parts of the world. It is hugely popular game in the world and this is why it is the most played game of the world and almost all the countries of the Europe have their own football leagues and the Barclays premier league of England is the most widely watched league of all, even in the countries that don't have a proper football setup and team like India and Pakistan. Other countries of different continents also have their own leagues but that are not very much popular around the world. This game has everything for people of all the age groups and that is why it is widely played, followed and liked all around the world. Football is one of the most ancient game of the world and there are proofs that this game was played in one form or another in many old civilizations and this can be seen the portraits and paintings of these old civilizations in which people were seen playing football and this is probably the biggest reason due to which the game is very popular around the world and is played all around the world and it has been transferred to each other through generations. Problem: There are some problems that can be associated with this game and the biggest one of them is racism. Even after all these years and fight against racism the plague of racism has not been completely removed from the game of the football and events of racism can be seen after every few days. • 33. Manchester's United Of The Football League Prior to the arrival of Matt Busby, Manchester's United's chapter in the history of English football begins with the founding of Newton–Heath LYR [Lancashire–Yorkshire Railway] Football Club in 1878 (Manchester United F.C., В§1878–1909). Football was the most popular sport in the nearby counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire in the mid–1800s, and it enjoyed popularity in Manchester as well (Harvey, 57, 67). One historian attributes part of its success to the abundance of playing space and events sanctioned by local business owners seeking to increase revenue (Harvey, 67). Newton Health LYR joined the Football League in 1892, and was rechristened Manchester United after an early infusion of funding. After moderate success through 1920 that prompted the construction of and relocation to Old Trafford, the club entered a period of stagnation and decline, characterized by relatively poor performance and plagued by financial difficulties. This floundering was exacerbated by public perception of association football as an undignified, inferior sport. Academic institutions, swayed by the "patriotic" qualities of toughness and leadership emphasized by rugby and perceived to be absent in football, opted to field rugby teams (Taylor, 122). Numerous scandals further tarnished association football's reputation, the most notable of which involved Manchester United and Liverpool F.C. • 34. Strengths And Weaknesses Of The NFL The strengths of the National Football League or NFL are rooted deep in the fabric of America. There is an undeniable tribal nature to the sport of American Football. All across the country devoted fanatics cheer on their teams may they be unpaid college students or millionaire household names. Football is not just a sport in America, it is cherished, tattooed and celebrated. The NFL benefits from having football being a common conversation point in schools and workplaces. From fantasy football leagues to highly intricate betting in Las Vegas. There is not just passion, but dollars and time being invested by the end consumer. The NFL saturates Thanksgiving television, it's players are often celebrities, its story lines are on the tip the American male. Knowing the game of football is often a rite of passage. Football is American tradition. The NFL clearly has it's place in American culture. It is evident in the outpouring of corporate sponsors into the league. Companies recognize the visibility NFL players offer to their products and the NFL leverages that back into its brand. All aspects surrounding the sport are sponsored. From the sports drink the players slurp then dump on their coaches after victories–to the on–the–field tablets branded with the iconic window for drawing up plays. The jerseys, cleats, gloves, hats, helmets, pads–and that is just on the field. There's food, cars, watches, headphones–it seems everything that scrapes past the NFL becomes sponsored in some way. Backing from the NFL appears to currently have exponential upside increasing brand awareness. The National Football League has made many people rich, but it is not short of problems, controversy and appauling storylines. The two weaknesses I can identify are issues in player discipline and player health. The NFL is inconsistent in how it disciplines its players. Some have reframed this as an "league image" issue caused by reckless however the statistics support that the league itself is equally to blame for the bad reputation. According to independent research, McCann (2014) states, "The NFL's punishment of personal conduct violations has been inconsistent and on average less harsh than its punishment of drug offenses" .
