Global Environmental Problems
Global environmental problems have taken a turn for the worst in recent years. For water pollution, carbon emissions, and hurricanes have been at
their highest peak in 2017. These issues have only begun to get worse due to power plants, burning of fossil fuels, and several other environmentally
hazardous factories. In just 2017, six major hurricanes have occurred due to a combination of climate change, warming of the oceans, air and water
pollution, overpopulation, and several other environmental polluters. Countries, including the United States of America, are drastically being
affected by these events, some more than others. Global environmental problems have increased over the years and will continue to grow worse if
actions are not taken to change this pattern. If the population continues to grow exponentially, like it is now, Homo sapiens will drastically feel the
effects of global environmental changes including a lack of water, polluted waters and air, and a drastically lower life expectancy. According to the
article, "Food" by World Wildlife 7.3 billion people live on thisEarth and all together we consume 1.6 times what Earth's natural resources can offer us
(1). With this statistic alone, it is prevalent that if we continue to consume more than what Earth can offer us, we will run out of natural resources.
Running out of natural resources such as food will drastically affect the Homo sapiens race as well as all life forms on Earth. Environmental storms will

The Problem Of Global Warming
Many people who watch¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ news daily knows that it often display either social unrest, financial crises, or political
struggle such as the Syrian war. One reason why Syrians are engaged in a war is that they are experiencing extreme heat and drought which causes
them to be more rebellious and aggressive. The underlying cause of these trouble can be due to global warming. Global warming occurs when carbon
dioxide and other greenhouse gases trap heat in Earth's atmosphere because some of the sun's ray cannot escape. It is a worldwide phenomenon that
impacts each and every one of us because it cause irregular climate patterns, increase the sea levels, and decrease human living standards. We can
usually anticipate what the temperature will be the next couple days because there is a normal pattern to it, but recently we have not been able to
accurately predict what the weather will be for the week. For instance, the severe snowstorm near the end of winter or the inconsistent temperature
throughout the week. This unusual and intense weather event occurs because the warmer atmosphere can now hold and remove more moisture than
before and it can affect both the land and ocean conditions (Didier sec.1). The warmer atmosphere causes the annual average rate of precipitation to
increase in some area and decrease in others. One example of a decrease in precipitation can be seen in the severe drought in California of 2013.
During that time, the governor of California, Jerry Brown,

Global Warming Problems
Why has the global warming problem received so much attention in the last few decades? The problem of global warming has gained so much
attention because it is a worsening problem in which we have played a massive role in and the effects are taking a toll on the planet and life itself.
Global warming has massively affected the ecosystem which is getting the attention of people around the globe. People are now seeing the problems
effects and are finding out we are the main cause of global warming, now wanting to bring awareness and fix the problem we caused. Global
warming is getting worse by the year and people are seeing the effects and being concerned about the future of the planet and the life it bears. The
attention that global warming is receiving is from the worsening conditions and people now being more aware/ informed about the problem.First off,
global warming has massively affected and changed the ecosystem and is continuing its rampage getting the attention off people. The atmosphere,
oceans and surface of the earth is seeing a steady rise in temperature. Glaciers are melting snow and ice coverage is decreasing, consequently
increasing sea levels. According to John Abraham's, "American Leaders Should Read Their Official Climate Science Report"(2017) oceans have risen
about 7–8 inches on average and that it is causing city flooding to accelerate. Due to these effects of global warming, more people are beginning to
realize how serious it is and a

Global Warming Problem In Canada
Too much moisture, not enough rain, lots of wind, and strange weather has been a part of global warming. Scientists are mixed up in the report they
give about global warming. Some belief that it is here now and others believe it does not be a problem. The general population of Canada believes
global warming is here and is a disasterous for our country. Generally Canadians believe that it is the impact of fossil fuels which has caused global
warming.
Fossil fuels are a major contributor to global warming. The use of oil, gas and coal is the enormous to fuel our transportation, warm our houses,
and run our businesses. To begin with, oil is found in almost every area of our lifes. From the beginning of when we find oil to when we throw an
oil product away we are adding to global warming. When they find oil, they get it out of the ground. When they get it out of the ground, they pollute
the environment by using machinery. The machinery pollutes the air because the carbon monoxide is given off from the machines goes into our
atmosphere. If they are "mining" the oil then large amounts of the land is destroyed and will take man, many years to grow again. Again the
machinery that is used to strip the oil from the land pollutes the air with its carbon monoxide. The process that is used to take the oil out of the sand
also pollutes the air. In addition to that, any of the products that are made from oil result in pollution in the way of factories putting smoke into the air.

ground to make natural gas, up out of the ground. All of this process creates pollution which goes into the

Global Warming Is A Real Problem
Climate Change is an important topic that everyone should be well versed on. Global warming was denied as being a real problem for many years, but
the proof cannot be hidden anymore and countries around the world are acknowledging that global warming does exist. It is my pleasure to know that
our country will participate in the United Nations Climate Summit. As the CEO of an environmentally conscious company, it is my honor to represent
the United States of America at the Summit.
Climate Change "refers to changes in the Earth's climate caused by increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide and other pollutants produced by human
activity." Global warming is the increase of the average surface temperature on Earth caused by the excess release of greenhouse gases, such as carbon
dioxide, into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases occur naturally, but in excess it could be harmful to the Earth. Composition of greenhouse gases traps
heat from the sun, and this is what helps the Earth stay warm enough to sustain life. The more heat they trap, the warmer the earth gets, and as the
planet gets warmer it creates climate changes. The greenhouse gases that are making the earth warmer are generated by human activity. One of the
main greenhouse gases is carbon dioxide, which is being mostly released by the burning of fossil fuels. Other gases are Methane, which is released
through industrial and agricultural processes and Nitrogen Dioxide which is a product of some industrial processes.

Global Warming Is An Important Problem
Global warming is an important problem which people all the world need to solve and prevent the affected of global warming. We just saw a small
affected right now, but for a long time, it will take your life away. Why don't we should do something to save the earth as save our life? One person
can do nothing but a group of people can make different and change the world. We can do the small things from home, but it also helps us save theearth
. Firstly, I think we should create an organization to called " SOE (Save Our Earth). Then, we really the cooperation of everybody, we will make a
poster and flyer to propaganda every one knew about the organization and join with us. My drawing is the poster of organization. As we can see in
the poster, the Earth very angry with the people, also we have a slogan on it "SAVE THE EARTH". Its means that the earth is an emergency status
and really need help from people. Below of the slogan is a image of the earth is sickness. Their color of land is not like before. We can imagine that
how people destroyed the earth. In addition, I was drawing some icon like recycle symbol and solar energy. The symbols want to remind people
should using the recycle product and every house should using solar energy. So, we can save the environment and help reduce pollution. The poster
has a lots meaning, when people saw the poster. They can understand what they need to do right now. The organization will print the poster and stick

The Global Location Allocation Problem
Example 1. The first type of problem discussed was the global location allocation problem. These problems are often seen in large business and
can be solved by combining AHP and GP. However, in this smaller example the decision maker is choosing where to send his sales associates.
According to the AHP, the goal must first be set, then the criteria, then the alternative locations, as seen in Figure 2. Figure 2. Illustrates the AHP of
example 1. After the initial hierarchy was created, as described earlier, to make the problem global and to add the goal programming, weights have to
be added to the locations and the criteria as seen in Figure 3. Figure 3. Illustrates the initial AHP combined with GP and created into a global LAP. The

The next type of LAP is capacitated problems. Capacitated problems can be solved with stochastic models such as DCP, CCP, and the Hybrid
Intelligence Algorithm. This example is one generated by [3] which seeks to maximize the probability that the transportation cost doesn't exceed
$2,300. In order to do this, the DCP model in Equation 14 was used. Equation 14 Where Pr is the probability and C(x,y|П‰) is the transportation
cost. The hybrid intelligence algorithm runs the problem 10,000 times with different environmental criteria. This was done 10 times and the
percent error was calculated. These results are shown in Table 3 below. Table 3. Shows the Comparison of the Different Solutions of the
Capacitated LAP. Since the percent error does not go above 2.3% and the probability of the transportation cost not exceeding the goal is always
above 90%, we can say that it is a viable option to choose the current limits on the constraints (Pop_size, P_c,P_m,О±). Also this indicates that the
hybrid algorithm is an effective model to solve these capacitated LAPs. Example 3. The last type of LAP examined is large LAP's. One common way
to solve large problems is by two–opt switching, or H4 as discussed in [2]. H4 uses two–opt switching to simultaneously switch the allocation of two
locations to make the "path" more efficient. A simple example can be seen in GPS routes that UPS could use to deliver and pick up

What is a Social Problem?
A social issue is defined as an area of conflict in a social setting that influences different people and is often out of reach of the control of an
individual or local geographical authority (Weart 73). Some social problems, however, are not perceived universally as such, resulting in a difference
in opinion between different groups. Other social issues are universally recognized as justifiable and, therefore, are addressed by everyone. Global
warming is a social issue that traverses national borders, making it an international concern. It is a social problem because many diverse social
groups from all over the globe have viewed it as a cause for concern (Weart 74). Nations have come together and tried to fight ... Show more content on

The effect of these gases has derived its name from greenhouses because of the solar insulation capability they possess. Much like greenhouses, these
gases are good absorbers of solar radiation. When solar radiation penetrates the layer of carbon dioxide existing in the air and reaches the earth's
surface, the rays are radiated back. Carbon dioxide insulates the reflected radiation from exiting the earth's atmosphere (Archer 79). The result is a
temperature increase in the earth's atmosphere due to the concentration of radiation.
The temperature increase in the atmosphere causes more evaporation from water bodies. Water vapor in the atmosphere rises, acting as another agent
that entraps solar energy. The continued pile up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is a threat to the global climatic balance. Because of this, it has
received widespread scrutiny as the leading cause of climate change. Higher atmospheric temperatures affect the climatic zones and natural climatic
cycles. Potentially life–threatening consequences occur when the temperature of the atmosphere changes by about a third of a degree Celsius every
three years (Houghton 13). The rapid development and expansion of industries that are the main consumers of fossil fuels and coal is a serious
concern to the problem of global warming. Measures to curb the growth of the social issue have not been stringently

The Problem Of Global Warming
Introduction: The only place in our galaxy that we know is inhabitable is now being destroyed by man. As humanity has revolutionized we have
created many problems along the way. The main problem we are facing right now is called global warming. We have damaged many ecosystems trying
to better ourselves, and we have not yet once thought about the damage we are inflicting on our mother earth. We are already beginning to see the
effects of global warming. It will make little changes that will have a huge impact, and devastate many ecosystems and everything living on earth.
Thesis: If we do not change our ways now, imagine what the future will have in store for the next generations to come. We will all have to pay the
price for the acts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the website called Global Climate Change it stated that "On earth, human activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Over the last century the
burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil had increased the concentration of the atmospheric carbon dioxide" (Nasa). We don't have to be scientist to
know that global warming is happening. If we look around we can see all the damages that we are creating; but it seems like we are just covering
our eyes and hoping it will go away. Point 3: Now that we are all aware global warming is happening. The effects that it is having on earth are now
very noticeable. The temperatures have risen through the years, and many wonder why. In the Article Global Climate change it states that "The
industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 379
parts per million in the last 150 years" (Jackson). My teacher from high school Mrs. Wagner explain to us that all the carbon, and other natural gases
we release into the atmosphere will not escape into space. Therefore it will create a thick blanket covering the atmosphere and heating up the planet.
That is why the temperature has been going up throughout the years. Rising temperatures are not the only thing happening right now. We are also
seeing droughts in many areas where there use to be a lot of fresh water that would flow by. In other places we are seeing flooding

The Problem Of Global Warming
Global warming is no longer looked upon as a background problem or a side job. It is now one of the biggest political crises that the world faces
and it will take global cooperation in order to be solved. One of the biggest problems surrounding climate change is a lack of a clear understanding of
what is a safe global temperature cap. Climate science is still, like all science, a developing topic. Scientists cannot yet completely and confidently
make sure statements. As of right now, politicians are failing to do enough to slow down the effects humans are having on climate change. The
inability of scientists to provide a definite temperature cap and the poor attitudes of a minority of the United Nations' (UN) politicians towards that cap
are the reasons politicians are failing to successfully create legislation that will halt human impacts on rising global temperatures.
Climate scientists have, for a long time, agreed that climate change is a real and growing threat. They have been able to agree that climate change is a
natural process that occurs over millions of years. They have also been able to agree that the climate problem humans are currently facing is not natural.
Humans are significantly speeding up the process of climate change through global warming. NASA describes global warming as "the average global
surface temperature increase from human emissions of greenhouse gasses" (Dunbar and Conway). In other words, humans, especially those in
developed countries, are

Global Warming Is A Real Problem Essay
Climate change is something everyone in the world should work to make bigger priority. Human beings do not realize that living the way they want,
instead of the way they should, is actually damaging the planet and its climate. The main thing being changed by the people that inhabit the earth is the
earth's atmosphere. Our earth is comparable to that of a giant greenhouse, in which the earth's atmosphere is comparable to that of the glass
surroundings of an actual greenhouse. Greenhouse Gases are what trap the suns heat along the surface of the earth to keep us warm at night.
"Ninety–seven percent of climate scientists agree that humans have changed the earth's atmosphere in dramatic ways over the past two centuries,
resulting in global warming". (What is the Greenhouse Effect?) Global warming is a real problem, and it has real consequences. The slow increase in
the earth's temperature is called global warming. It is my opinion that this is because of the way people all over the earth go about their daily living.
Global warming and climate change can be eliminated by upgrading building infrastructures over a period of time. Stopping the use of fossil fuels
such as coal, oil and natural gas will also have a huge impact on reducing global warming and climate change. Deforestation is also aiding in the
destruction of our planet by destroying millions of acres of land a year, and leaving the earth gasping for more air. Despite the bleak outlook of our
children's children future,

Resolving the Global Warming Problem
"It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else will effect the outcome."
Global Warming according to Microsoft Bookshelf nineteen ninety eight edition is " A conjectural greenhouse effect on earth that is attributed to
deforestation and industrial air emissions"(MS Bookshelf 98). Global Warming could be one of the most important issues of the century. As global
warming becomes more and more of an issue, the factors surrounding global warming need to be dealt with. The world is beginning to show that if
something is not done about global warming serious side effects can occur. At first impression someone might think that global warming does not effect

Many of the earth?s water supplies would be in danger because of "incursions of seawater," and the effects of incurring seawater could be fatal for
many species (129). . If one species goes extinct then in the long run humans suffer. Basic food pyramid principles can be applied to conclude the
effects of species extinction.
When the polar ice caps melt more water is added to the atmosphere. One finding "suggests that the ocean water is less salty then it was under the
ice twenty years earlier" this would "tend to confirm that the melting and shrinking of the ice caps" has already taken place (Barker 43). In general
more rain would occur causing a more humid climate. Heavy rains would cause "mudslides like they did in California last summer" killing many
people (Cook 58). The rains in California were "torrential and the worst the state has seen" in many years (Hayden 13). If the ocean rises that much
then the saltwater incursions would eliminate much of the fresh water in the world. Moisture fuels many of the worst storms in the world. If the ice
caps melt obviously much more water will be added to the atmosphere. Hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, typhoons, cyclones, and monsoons, are a few of
the most dangerous storms fueled by heat and water. Most people know the catastrophes that all of these storms have created throughout the years.
Recently "the worst cyclone in 25 years hit India killing more than 400 people" and in Africa "unusually strong rains

The Problem of Global Warming
Imagine you are placed into the future. The year is 2100. You begin to live in this new world. You hear about huge storms over much of the USA that
cause severe damage and flooding. San Francisco, New York City, New Orleans, Seattle, and Miami all experience major flooding from the ocean
level having risen so high. Thousands and thousands of people perish each summer across the USA alone–hundreds die in Chicago as the temperature
soars to 100 for 2 weeks straight.

Because more carbon dioxide is being put into the air, there is more absorption by the atmosphere and more reflection back to the surface, so the
surface is getting warmer. Now, what actions are resulting in the expansion of the greenhouse effect?
Two main causes are burning fossil fuels and driving our cars. According to a NASA earth observatory web page, "
fossil fuel burning (coal, oil and
gas) releases about 6 billion metric tons per year." On the EPA web site, it is stated that most of the emissions of greenhouse gases, "about 82%, are
from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and power our cars." As I said before, driving our cars also is a large cause. For example, Ecobridge
states that "Twenty percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions comes from the burning of gasoline in internal–combustion engines of cars and light
trucks." So a fair amount of the emissions is from driving your car.
Deforestation, the cutting and burning of a forest, also increases the amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A NASA page says that "when a
forest is cut and burned to establish cropland and pastures, the carbon that was stored in the tree trunks (wood is about 50% carbon) joins with oxygen
and is released into the atmosphere as CO2. CO2, is, of

Global warming is a big problem and impacts our environment in a negative way because it is heating the Earth. Global warming impacts all of the
life around us even though not many people recognize it. There are many problems that global warming will make to our environment and it has
already impacted it over time. Although, there are many problems, there are also solutions to stop global warming. Climate change is most closely
related to global warming and many scientists have found ways to try and put a stop to it.
One of the biggest problems of global warming is the global climate change that is occurring. Some examples of how it is changing is that
temperatures are rising and have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Global warming also causes intense weather and weather patterns. When the ocean water heats up, then that means it will create hurricanes and as
the Earth continues to heat up then it will make even stronger hurricanes over time. Hurricanes are increasing because "in some ocean basins,
hurricane intensification has been linked to rising ocean temperatures"(Global Warming Impacts). Other times of weather that can occur in some
areas are flooded because of excess precipitation. Excess precipitation can be a bad thing because flooding is destroying a lot of things, for example
military bases near the coast. Wildfires are beginning to occur more often now since the Earth is heating up which is a disaster because that affects
plants and animals. If wildfires occur, then many forests will die and that will pollute the air even more. `
There are a few solutions to stop global warming and the most common one is to reduce the burning of fossil fuels. Whenever people use an
automobile, a car, bus, or plane, then that is polluting the air, which will warm the Earth because the ozone layer is getting destroyed. Although many
people have to have transportation, if they cut down on their driving or got more energy efficient cars then it would help a lot. The car that you buy
is a very important factor because "each gallon of gas you use is responsible for 25 pounds of heat–trapping gases in the atmosphere"(Ten). Whenever
people burn fossil fuels it creates

Global Warming Is A Problem
What is global warming? Global warming is the polar bears and penguins fighting for their lives because their home is melting. Global warming is
seventy–degree weather in the middle of February. Global warming is the rapid increase in tropical storms. Global warming is the California drought.
Global warming is the harmful wildfires occurring in our forests (NRDC). Many people, mostly politicians, believe that global warming is a problem
that doesn't exist. Global warming is a real issue that we cannot solve unless we all work together to fix it. The results of climate change are detrimental
to the way we live our lives and the animals of the planet as well. If we as a species don't acknowledge the problem, it cannot be resolved. The first
major problem produced by global warming is deforestation. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make land available
for other uses (Live Science). Patches of land being destroyed each year are measured to be the size of Panama (National Geographic). A lot of
deforestation is caused by man themselves. Farmers cut down trees to make room for more crops and heat their homes and loggers build roads so
they can get deeper and deeper into the forests. Deforestation's biggest impact is the loss of many habitats. Seventy percent of all the animals and
plants on earth reside in forests and they cannot survive without it (NG). Once the trees are cut down, the soil is exposed. Since the trees blocked most

Kyoto Protocol : A Global Problem
Kyoto Protocol:
Introduction:
1. The problem of Global Warming has been one that has increased dramatically throughout the past 150 years. This is thought to be due to increased
industrialisation throughout the world in this time and this is backed up by the fact that approximately 97%(NASA, n.d.) of scientists worldwide
believe that it is strongly likely the increasing global climate is due to human activity. International cooperation is required in order to solve the
problem of global warming as it takes a global effort to solve a global problem. In order to reduce worldwide carbon emissions that lead to global
warming, every country has to work together in order for real progress to eventuate. It isn't good enough for most countries to reduce their carbon
emissions while the main emitters like USA and China, continue to emit almost as much as the rest of the nations in the agreement. The Kyoto Protocol
was created in 1997 to encourage the governments around the world to reduce their greenhouse–gas emissions. The specific goal was that countries
should try to reduce their carbon emissons by 5.2% below their 1990 level by 2012. This 5.2% is a collective goal however and different countries
had different targets, for example developed countries such as the USA had higher targets to reach (reduce emissions by 7%) whereas developing
countries were able to increase their emissions slightly. This is because the developing countries were not the ones responsible for the initial

The Environmental Problems Of Global Warming

"Modern humans deeply influence the form and function of the ecosphere" (Hugget et al: 2004). During the twentieth century alone the world's
population increased from 1.65 billion to 6 billion and just now the worlds population stands at over seven billion. The rapid growth rate of the human
population means that there are now many environmental problems such as pollution, deforestation, food and energy shortages, waste, water storage and
climate change. These problems have meant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the many environmental problems faced today by human activity is deforestation. Deforestation refers to the term used to describe the
demolition of woodland, forest cover and plantations to allow space for agriculture, industrialization or for urban uses. Forest clearance "which is
associated with extreme local impacts such as loss of habitat, loss of biological diversity and instability of slopes and soils" (Hugget et al: 2004).
There are many reasons for deforestation, such as agricultural activities, urbanization, logging, mining and the desertification of land (conserve energy
future: 2014). According to the United Nations food and agriculture organization every year almost eighteen million acres of forests are lost and
destroyed each year (FAO: 2014). The rapid and ever increasing rate of deforestation makes it very dangerous and distressing and fear of the long–term
effects that may be a result if the rate of clearing does not decrease or is controlled. The Amazonian is the largestrainforest in the world, spreading
across an area of 1.7 billion acres through Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. The forest
supplies the world with more than twenty percent of its oxygen and is referred to as "the world's lungs" (tropical rainforest facts). The rainforest is
being destroyed at a fast and alarming rate with 2,700 million acres being cleared

The Problem Of Global Change
Global change is happening on Earth and is affecting the Polar Regions, especially Greenland. There are many things that global change is doing;
temperatures rising, ice melting, and water levels rising. Temperature rising affects the ice melting, the heating of the Earth, and the weather. The
melting of the ice affects sea levels rising and affects the temperature rising. Finally, sea level rising affects theclimate and more temperature rising.
These issues are and will continue to affect the Earth, badly.
Temperature rising is the main problem for ice melting, which ice melting is a problem for water levels rising, but what is the main problem for
temperature rising? Humans. We have been causing global change by burning fossil fuels. The article Open Mind commented on the temperatures
before the industrial revolution and after: "The world has already warmed 1C (degree Celsius, equal to 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) above what it was
before the industrial revolution...The prevailing view is that warming by 2C above pre–industrial means dangerous climate change, although lately
many are coming to believe that even going 1.5C above pre–industrial is dangerous." (Open Mind [updated 2016]). Open Mind also stated that there is
a trend, that temperature was rising since 1970 and that "the trend will continue. Upward." (Open Mind [updated 2016]).
Temperatures are also rising in the troposphere, where weather exist. Open Mind states the same pattern in the troposphere; "the red line is

Global Warming
Global Warming is a major problem that needs to be addressed. Its impacts are already costly and significant and is just the beginning of a dangerous
trend. The impact of global warming or the more trending term "climate change" affects not only yourself but the entire world. "The earth is saying
something with record heat, drought, storms and fire. Scientists are telling us this is what global warming looks like. It 's time to listen – and take action.
There 's plenty we can do." (Extreme Weather).
Health effects one of the few major impacts of global warming. With increased CO2 emissions in the air it can cause increased issues with people
already suffering from asthma. CO2 emissions can also affect pulmonary and cardiac disease worsening the severity of it. Because of the increased
heat problems like dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke are becoming more of an issue. "Dangerously hot weather is already occurring more
frequently than it did 60 years ago–and scientists expect heat waves to become more frequent and severe as global warming intensifies." (Global
Warming Impacts). If the world does not do more to reducefossil fuel emissions and other greenhouse gases that are making heat waves more intense,
a lot of people could get hurt and around 150,000 additional Americans could die by the end of this century due to excessive heat.
Another major problem facing us is the raise in water levels and the

The Problem Of Global Warming
Global Warming in the United Stated Global warming is no longer just a prediction it is actually happening. It is undisputed that the average
temperature at the surface of Earth has increased over the past century by 1 degree Fahrenheit, with both the air and the oceans warming. Since
1880, when people in many locations first began to keep temperature records, the 25 warmest years have all occurred within the last 28 years. The
problem is that if we keep on hurting our own environment and ecosystems we are just going to destroy ourselves sooner or later. If we don't start to
change the way we are doing things around the United States with our factories, the way we dispose of things, or the way we get affected by the
pollution, we will see some major issues in the future. This paper will examine the problem of Global Warming in the United States. The paper will
first discuss how global warming works, and why it is damaging not only our lives but the lives of the animals around the United States and other
major issues. It will also address the consequences for global warming for such a long time of a period. Next the paper discusses three environmental
solutions to the problem of global warming: wildlife affects, glaciers and sea levels, the weather patterns. The paper will first explain each global
warming solution. Then it will analyze the pros and cons, and potential strengths and weakness of each solution. Last this paper will offer some

Global Warming Problems
Global warming is ending the life in the Earth
Global warming is defined as the global increase in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere. According to NASA, January 2016 was the hottest
January as it was 1.13 degrees Celsius above the 1951–1980 average (Erdman, 2016). Humans participate in increasing the concentration of carbon
dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases that act like a blanket that traps the heat. And this appear from the combustion of fossil fuel and the
different industries which release a large amount of CO2 since the industrial revolution. Moreover, cutting millions of trees to provide their different

photosynthesis process. As reported by Union of Concerned Scientists that CO2 today are 25% higher than in 1957. Due to the releasing of CO2 and
chlorofluorocarbons to the atmosphere that lead to ozone layer depletion, more sunlight is passing to the earth surface. In addition, the natural disaster
has the role in rising the temperature, for example: volcanoes. This essay will state the scientific problems of climate change and how it threatens the
life of organisms. Also, it will suggest solutions for this problem.

The Problem of Global Warming Essay
Global Warming is the increase of temperature on Earth which is caused by human activities and will have very serious consequences for life on Earth
if humans don't start to do something about it now. Global Warming is caused when the
Greenhouse Gases combines with the atmosphere and traps heat. It is strongly related to pre–human and pre– industrial global warming, it is also
weakly related to depletion of ozone layer, which was caused by the CFC (Chlorofluorocarbons) gas. The effects of global warming on the
environment are dangerous, such as: rising of sea level because polar caps melt, changes in the pattern of precipitation, floods, droughts, heat waves,
hurricanes and tornadoes. These effects would take away life and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, Nitrous oxide is the major greenhouse gas and has
296 times the effect of carbon dioxide (www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrous_oxide, Feb,
2007).
Human activities are the biggest contributor to global warming. Industrialization, transportation and forest burning releases gases that join the
atmosphere and trap heat.
Industrialization has been proved to release high amounts of carbon dioxide since the
Industrial Revolution began in the early 19th century. The total amount of carbon dioxide has increased by one ? third of the usual amount in the
atmosphere.
Transportation uses fossil fuels to run and as a result, it produces gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Now, in the modern lifestyle,
most of the people want and have private cars. This further increases the amount carbon dioxide released to the air by the means of transportation.
The biggest cause of global warming is forest burning. This is because when we are burning forests, trees inside it, which usually absorb carbon
dioxide, release lots amount of carbon dioxide. Besides this, the earth has also experienced natural global warming and ice ages several times before,
which rises by up to 5 degree Celsius. A climatologist said that humans have contributed to
Global Warming since 8,000 years ago, the year the amount of carbon dioxide started to increase. There are lots of negative effects on environment and

The Problem Of Global Warming
Four decades from now, we do not want to repeat the story in the movie The Age of Stupid, in which a man lives in the devastated future world of
2055. The man looks back to today's date and asks himself why we did not stop the climate change when we had the chance. However, today global
warming is out of control, global temperatures are steadily rising. "The primary cause, a consensus of scientists has said, is the rising emissions of
greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane" (Stone, 2013). The CO2 stays in the atmosphere for 50 to 100 years, nitrous oxide for 114 years
while the methane stay in the atmosphere for at least 12 years. The impact of these greenhouse gases is of an immediate concern as it is increasing and
is long lasting so we should not wait any longer to control the human activities that produce these greenhouse gases causing the climate change. For
instance, we do not want to wait for another hurricane such as Katrina to occur. Hurricane Katrina was a climate change effect. The Regents of the
University of California (2014) states Hurricane Katrina and other hurricanes develop when the water and the sun heat the air above the ocean and
causes atmospheric low pressures known as tropical depressions. The heat on the air above the ocean causes the hurricane. Besides, scientists say that
temperature depends on the greenhouse gases (GHGs) such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane, nitrous oxide and water (H2O) vapor in the atmosphere.

Global Warming Is A Global Problem
The reason why, I decided to focus on global warming is because it doesn't just affect one person it affects everyone as a national crisis. Numerous
individuals don't believe in global warming, but to scientist this is a big dilemma. In the article, "closer looks at climate change, it's specified that
these issues are not new, they have been around forever" (Schmidt, 2010). "In the article the real case against activist global warming, has gotten the
response of the president of the United States" (Schmidt, 2010). "Obama has stated, this problem is real" (Schmidt, 2010). So, perhaps for this political
fact coming from our current president, will have the effects in human change of individual's views.
"According to Stefan Rahmstorf, he indicates that scientist do believe in global warming know a day, because of massive climate changes" (Schmidt,
2010). Individuals believe that global warming comes from one thing only, but it actually comes from many different gases. "There is carbon dioxide,
water vapor, choroflurorcarbons, methane, and nitrogen dioxide" (Stojanovic, Pejovic &Milosevic, 2013). "According to the Hub Page explanation, is
that carbon dioxide is admitted into our atmosphere from cement" (Eswar, 2010). Human's put various amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere,
which has caused global warming, and health problems. First off, cement is one of the factors of carbon atoms released into the atmosphere from
carbonated rocks. "Cement is a main function in

Imagine this, it is one hundred and two degrees outside. The polar ice caps are gone, along with all the people and animals dependent on them for their
survival. Long, intense heat waves continue scorching the Earth, and the destruction from natural disasters is on the rise. There is a reason behind all
of this madness; this reason is global warming. Global warming is a problem that some people choose to ignore. They claim it does not exist. Global
warming is real. It is time for people to stop ignoring it and start searching for a solution. Although many people do not believe in global warming,

The melting ice cube symbolizes the melting of the ice caps, and as it melts there will be more water in the glass, symbolizing the rise in sea level.
This is an example of an elementary science experiment that proves just how simple it is to understand the effects of global warming. The shift of
plant and animal ranges is caused by the changing climate. Places that had been too cold for certain plants and animals are now warming up and may
be warm enough to allow different plants and animals to live there then had in the past. While other, already warm, places may become too hot for
certain plants and animals.
Carbon Dioxide is one of the key contributors to the concept of global warming, because it is so easily released in our world today. Carbon dioxide
comes from natural processes. It comes from burning fossil fuels, volcanic eruptions and even a person's own breathing. This concentration of carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere is measured in parts per million. Before the Industrial Revolution, there was around 280 parts per million of carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere. Now there are 395.93 parts per million as of October 2014, according to CO2Now.org. This shows a dramatic increase,
over one third, in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide and the number is still increasing. Scientists have said that the damages will be
irreparable if the concentration reaches 450 parts per

Problems and Solutions to Catastrophic Global Warming
Problems and Solutions to Catastrophic Global Warming
Global warming is becoming a major problem for our environment. Global warming is causing the atmosphere to become warmer which causes many
problems for the environment. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere allows sunlight to pass through, but it traps heat from escaping. This causes the earth
to warm which keeps the earth from becoming a ball of frozen ice, but excess carbon dioxide causes global warming, which will affect the environment.
There are many solutions to slowing or stopping the effects of global warming including planting trees, cutting carbon dioxide emissions, and using
alternative fuels. "It is extremely likely (95–100%) that human influence has been the dominant cause of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nuclear power is a good short term solution to buy humans time to find a way to make energy without hurting our environment as much as fossil
fuels. Humans could also increase the price of electricity or put a limit on how much you can use as this would make humans use electricity with
responsibility. If humans do not act on global warming, there may be no future for earth. Global warming would affect the world so much the climate
would be similar to Venus. On Venus there is so much greenhouse gas in the atmosphere that no heat escapes, but sunlight can still come through. This
is similar to what will happen to earth's climate if humans do not stop global warming. As the earth increases in temperature, the environment is
changed in many ways. Ocean water warms causing small organisms to die off very quickly if the climate changes fast enough. As more greenhouse
gas is put into the atmosphere, it will cause the acidification of water which can be catastrophic as small organisms will die off. Without plankton and
other small organisms humans and other large organisms would not exist. Humans are taking a very dangerous path of waiting for the last minute to
act upon global warming, which at that time it may be too late to act on global warming. Humans need to act now before earth becomes inhabitable.
There is also another solution for humans; however it is very unlikely it would work. Humans could find another planet that

A Worldwide Problem Of Global Warming
Electric Cars There is a worldwide problem of Global Warming. It is increasing day after day, harming our planet's atmosphere by reducing the
strength of the ozone layer. Global warming is putting all basic human needs in jeopardy. There are various reasons behind global warming. One of
the major reasons is fuel engine cars and trucks we use in our everyday lives. Fuel engine cars leave a trail of unhealthy monoxide gas as the result of
combustion in the engine. Carbon Monoxide is one of many gases which is harmful to the ozone layer. Global warming is already causing high
temperatures, rising sea levels, floods, and droughts. To help reduce the effects of the fuel engine cars on our environment we should start using
electric cars. Electric cars run on rechargeable batteries which do not leave a trail of carbon monoxide. Electric cars are fuel–efficient vehicles which
use less gas to travel the same distance as their less efficient counterparts. When we burn less fuel, we generate fewer emissions. When emissions go
down, the pace of global warming slows. Cleaner fuels produce fewer emissions when they are burned. Some fuels such as those made from biofuels
can reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to gasoline, and cleaner extraction techniques can ensure that dirty fuel like oil doesn't get dirtier.
Electric cars will also help many countries stop fighting over fuel and also give countries independence. Electric cars should be globalized so that it

Persuasive Essay On The Problem Of Global Warming
The world is addicted to fossil fuels, but it is quickly using up its resources and destroying the environment. Based on current estimates, oil and
natural gas will peak by 2040. In addition, "over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history"
(MacMillan Para 1). The United States needs to figure out a way to fulfill their massive demand for power while ensuring the safety of the planet.
There are many possible ways to attack the problem at hand. The first proposal is to mandate the installment of solar rooftop units throughout the
country. Another proposal is to install solar parks throughout the country. A final proposal is to simply incentivize the use and development of solar
energy while phasing out fossil fuels. By implementing one of these three proposals, the United States government could help solve a problem that
looms over the entire population.
The major problem solar energy will look to fix is global warming. Global warming is the gradual increase of the average global temperature. This
rise in heat is caused by the greenhouse effect, which "is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let
in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse" (What is Global Warming Para 4). This process is natural and keeps Earth at
an inhabitable temperature. Recently, however, the burning of fossil fuels has enhanced this effect, which is

The Problem Of Global Climate Change
Other than political stories in 2016 we still see and hear of many Global Warming scenarios, what causes them, who is the main reason for the cause,
and when it actually started. We are going to take a look at the reality of what is really happening.
Let's assume that all ice caps and glaciers in the world melted. What would be the result of such a catastrophe, how long would it take, who would be
affects, and would we suffer any loss because of this?
Global climate change has been more and more discussed with the ever changing climate, and the rise of water levels, we need to figure out why the
water levels have been changing so rapidly. Is there any change we humans can do to prevent disaster? Or are we on a collision course with no way to
turn around?
This is a list of the known ice inventories within our world that I have found from Dr. Robert Johnston regarding if the ice melts. As you can see Dr.
Robert Johnston has done his studies and research about this topic.
World ice inventory
A melting of the entire list would cause a rise of about 200–250 feet of the world wide sea level. This seems dangerous, but it would take several
hundred years to occur, if at all for that to even happen and even if it did we would no longer be alive.
As Dr. Robert Johnston said "Today the Earth has 148 million sq. km of land area, of which 16 million sq. km is covered by glaciers. A sea level rise
of 66 meters would flood about 13 million sq. km of land outside of Antarctica." If we

Barack Obama once said, "Climate change is no longer some far–off problem; it is happening here, it is happening now." One section of climate
change Obama talks about is global warming. This major topic has been a developing controversy around the world. Global warming is a growing
problem in the world and it needs to be solved. Global warming is a growing problem that can be seen in the history, cause, effect, different aspects, and
possible solutions.
To start, global warming has been a growing problem for several years across the world. Global warming is the warming of the Earth's atmosphere
(Ward 56). The increase in temperature has to be over a long period of time. When toxic gases likecarbon dioxide and methane are released into the
open air and are trapped in the atmosphere (Staff). These greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer, making sunrays easier to reach Earth. This
depletion overall increases the heat in the world. In fact, the greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere cause a spike in global temperature, known as
global warming. In the beginning, global warming was first discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824. Fourier discovered that the atmospheric gases can
increase global temperatures. In 1938 Guy Callendar discovers that greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. Several more studies are taken
over time to record the change in global temperature over many years. By 1968 glaciologist John Mercer argues that glaciers are beginning to melt due

Global Warming Problems
What is global warming and what is it doing to our planet? One major problem today is global warming and how it will affect our future if we
don't do something but we can start today. Global warming (also known as climate change) is when there is a great increase in temperature. Some
activity that can happen if we don't do something is that sea levels will rise and the chance of coastal flooding will increase. There can also be more
destructive hurricanes, more frequent and intense heat waves, greater risk of health, extreme weather like more snow, greater precipitation, more
droughts, a decrease in the production of our food, melting ice which will lead to the increase in sea levels, and also the seasons could change. There
are many things we can do to prevent this from happening, we just need to act fast.
One problem of global warming is the increasing of CO2. "Climate change is primarily a problem of too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the
atmosphere" (Why). There are a lot of things that are causing CO2 to be in our atmosphere like for example cutting trees when you cut down a tree
all the carbon dioxide the tree was storing is released to our atmosphere. Also the burning of fossil fuels is also releasing CO2 into the atmosphere.
Cars and power plant release heat–trapping emissions and once they are released they are warming the earth.
Another problem is greenhouse gases they are also the ones who cause global warming by emitting gases into our atmosphere that are bad

Global Warming Is A Problem Essay
Abstract Global warming is a dilemma; it is a debatable issue between a fact and a theory, between approval and disapproval and between having
advantages and disadvantages. Endless questions that have indefinite answers arise to a man's mind when just tackling the idea of the global warming.
Many people do not take in consideration the environmental issues, their main interests lie behind thinking about their personal lives and needs. Only
few who think about the environment they're living in.
Is it a real growing problem having evidence? , or by looking at the history of the climate change, is it just an environmental condition that will pass by
causing some dramatic changes to the climate?

Does global warming issue worth our attention?,
Scientists worked hard to reach an answer, amazingly all of the answers were found in nature as Albert Arnold "Al" Gore,
Jr. said, "The ice has stories to tell us "referring to analyzing pole's ice layers process.
In 1824, The French physicist Joseph Fourier showed the relation between earth's atmosphere and its temperature.
Moreover, the US scientist Wallace Broecker firstly introduced the term "global warming" in a scientific paper.

Global Warming : Deforestation Is A Serious Problem
Global Warming: Deforestation
Global warming has become a serious problem for us, and the Earth itself. Global warming is when Earth's temperature increases, due mainly to human
activity and the greenhouse effect. This is affecting our atmosphere, causing an increase in temperature. This is mostly humans' fault since we are the
ones that contribute the most to global warming. Due to overpopulation, the demand for many of the things we use everyday have increased
dramatically. Factories and the burning of fossil fuels for example, contribute a great part to global warming. Deforestation however, is a greater
problem than the two previously mentioned. There are many trees being cut down for different reasons, and this has become a major driver of global
warming, responsible for up to 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions–more than all the cars, trucks, planes, boats and trains in the world
combined" (Solutions to Deforestation). Many may argue that deforestation only comes at the cost of processes that are needed. This can be true, but it
still does not take away from the fact that it is destroying our environment and needs to be reduced as much as possible. Some of the processes include
urbanization, mining, industrial logging, and agribusiness. With urbanization and expansion, instead of knocking down buildings, we choose to
expand by tearing down trees and natural landscapes. We also are then having to build more roads which in turn fragments the landscape,

Global Warming : A Serious Problem
For someone who does not celebrate Christmas, December was enjoyably warm last year. My grandfather said he brought the warmth when he
came back from Pakistan the month before; but for me, the outdoor activities that weekend were a guilty pleasure. I had daymares about sea levels
rising and destroying the beautiful seacoast I have always called my home, my daughter growing up in a world lacking in luxuries that I have
always had, cursing me for not taking care of the earth that she was to live on. I saved my grandpa the worry of what I know is a very serious problem:
Global Warming("What's Behind the Freakishly Warm Winter in the Eastern U.S.?").
Accordingly, there is a popular quote that frequents my Facebook newsfeed regularly: "There is no Planet B." This would have meant nothing to me
before, but taking Introduction to Environmental Issues has enlightened me on the true complexity of the global warming crisis. We have an
exponentially growing human population with proportionally increasing demands that rob the health of this planet. Every single action we take is
linked to toxic waste choking the immense but limited ocean. Pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is exposing every vulnerable life to the
harmful rays of the sun and drowning precious land where water shouldn't be. Global warming is no longer a debate but a crisis to be quickly
addressed, considering more than 97 percent of scientists agree that climate change is a direct result of human

Introduction
Global warming can be said to be accelerating in a rapid manner. In fact, many countries, ecosystems as well as people are suffering from its impacts.
Climate change has affected the weather patterns and has indeed disrupted the variability and trends that exist in climate. This has resulted into an
increase in climate–related extremes such as heavy downpour, floods, surges, and droughts. However, it has been seen that indeed most of the affected
nations are the ones that have not even contributed immensely to pollution of the globe. Climate change presents an environmental challenge, economic

South Asia has been described as one of the most vulnerable regions of the world that are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. This is despite
the fact that most of these areas in South Asia have over the years been known to produce very low carbon IV oxide into the atmosphere. The
international community has recognized that indeed Bangladesh ranks high in the list of the countries that are most vulnerable on earth. It is of the
essence to note that Bangladesh's high vulnerability often occurs because of its unique hydro–geological, as well as socio–economic factors. Some of
these factors include its geographical location that lies in South Asia, its low elevation with deltaic topography, it extreme climate variability and the
fact that majority of its population are often dependent on crop agriculture that is highly influenced by the climate in the area. The main aim of this
research paper is to discover the impact of climate change in Bangladesh economy. This research purposefully focuses on the agricultural sector, and
this is because this is the main source of the country's economy. Further, most people in the nation are dependent on food crops. This paper intends to

Global Warming Is A Serious Problem
Global warming is a serious problem the world faces today. Most people don't know, or just don't care, what global warming is and how it affects
them. What causes global warming? What effect is it or will it have on my life? How can we fix it? It is not too late to save our planet but it will take
some effort from everyone. The earth's atmosphere is supposed to trap heat or the earth would freeze overnight and it would be uninhabitable. The
problem is all the extra chemicals that we are putting up in the atmosphere like methane and co2. When we put all these chemicals in the air they
build up in the atmosphere and trap even more heat than is needed resulting in rising temperatures. However chemicals in the air are not the only
reason for climate change and the decline of our environment. Five millions gallons of toxins are dumped into the oceans every day and as a result
of this and over fishing sixty present of all the big fish in the sea are gone. In the U.S. ninety five present of our old growth forests are gone(The 11th
Hour). The ice caps are melting which is causing sea levels to rise. Sea levels are expected to rise between seven and twenty three inches by the end of
the century and continued melting at the poles could add another four to eight inches(NationalGeographic). Almost everything we do effects our
environment and atmosphere. Kenny Ausubel, founder of the Bioneers, stated "At the end of the day, when we all talk about saving the environment,

The Problem Of Global Warming
Analyse the problem of global warming and suggest possible solution
With the rising global temperatures, the global warming has become more and more popular. In fact, it is a natural phenomenon, which has developed
in recent decades due to human?s activities, such as burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. These actions will produce large amounts of greenhouse
gas, which would cause the Earth 's temperature go up so that the climate will change. More importantly, the Global warming melt all the world 's
glaciers and permafrost so that the level of the sea will go up. As a result, human and natural ecosystems will suffer from great harm. There are many
reasons why the global climate is changing. Among those, there are two main reasons, the surge of population and serious environmental pollution.
Unfortunately, those two reasons are caused by our human?s activities. This essay will analyse the cause of this problem and list two solutions on
global warming. The first one is to promote clean energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels. The second one is to call for people to eat meat.
The most important factor the climate change is the growing population. Proportional to the increase in human population and resource consumption,
and faster population growth and large population size, the more emissions will impact on the climate. The relationship between population and climate
change is complex, not as simply as reducing the performance of the total population change or the

Is Global Warming A Legitimate Problem? Essay
Global Warming as a subject is a very common one in today's subjects of conversation. Man had been so caught up with the civilization
advancements, that we did not realize how much damage we were doing to the Earth, until recently, where soon it can be too late. Though many
people quickly disregard this problem, as being not a significant danger in their lifetime, soon as years go on and if we do not change our ways, the
Earth may not be the lush, green planet as our astronauts from space see it today. Now the question has to be asked, is global warming a legitimate
problem in today's society, and if it is, what can we do to stop it? Global warming is already getting out of hand, though it has only recently come to
the people's attention. It first got the media's attention when one of the worst droughts in decades was recorded in the summer of 1988 as stated by UC
San Diego Virtual Museum. Speculation had developed that man–made greenhouse effects were finally put in estimated speculation that the earth's
temperature might arise. After that year, record breaking temperatures kept being recorded, and people were afraid that global warming has been
already upon us, and it was only going to get worse. Carbon dioxide, is one of the major, harmful gases that gets trapped in the greenhouse effect. CO2
gets released when fossil fuels are burned and when CO2 circulatory systems are destroyed, such as deforestation. Just in the last ten years 25 million
CO2 parts per million had

Essay on Global Warming: Is it a Real Problem?
Think of a person riding downhill on a bicycle that has no brake on the wheels, and who knows that there is a large glass plate placed vertically
somewhere across the way. The person is sensible enough to predict that if he continues to enjoy this ever accelerating ride, he is going to collide
against the invisible glass plate in a short interval. But he is so deeply content on this ride that even after the knowledge of a certain accident ahead
unless he jumps out of the bicycle, he is willing to go a bit farther for his personal fulfillment. Today, we face a similar situation in which we are
seemingly unwilling to help ourselves out of a possibly disastrous problem of global temperature rise.

We can also rephrase this statement by stating that excessive greenhouse gases would inviteglobal warming.
Carbon dioxide is the greenhouse gas naturally found in the atmosphere. Since the advent of the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s, humans have
devised many inventions that burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gases, which, along with other human activities such as clearing land for
agriculture or urban settlements, help some of these greenhouse gases accumulate in the atmosphere that in turn trap more heat radiation in the
atmosphere causing the Earth's climate to become warmer than it would naturally (Mastrandrea). This unnatural phenomenon is termed global warming
by scientists and they blame it for an increase in the Earth's surface temperature of about 0.6В°C (about 1В°F) over the last 100 years (Mastrandrea).
So, is the temperature really rising? This simple answer to this question is "Yes." According to Watson, we now have strong evidences that the climate
is changing and that human activities were the primary cause of the changes during the 20th century (24). He asserts that the temperature increase in
the 20th century was greater than that for any other century during the last 1000 years and the temperatures now are warmer than at any time during
this period (26). Johns acclaim that the rise in CO2 levels from 280 parts per million around 1700s to 380 p.m. Today is the major factor

Global Environmental Problems: Causes, Effects and Solutions

  • 1. Global Environmental Problems Global environmental problems have taken a turn for the worst in recent years. For water pollution, carbon emissions, and hurricanes have been at their highest peak in 2017. These issues have only begun to get worse due to power plants, burning of fossil fuels, and several other environmentally hazardous factories. In just 2017, six major hurricanes have occurred due to a combination of climate change, warming of the oceans, air and water pollution, overpopulation, and several other environmental polluters. Countries, including the United States of America, are drastically being affected by these events, some more than others. Global environmental problems have increased over the years and will continue to grow worse if actions are not taken to change this pattern. If the population continues to grow exponentially, like it is now, Homo sapiens will drastically feel the effects of global environmental changes including a lack of water, polluted waters and air, and a drastically lower life expectancy. According to the article, "Food" by World Wildlife 7.3 billion people live on thisEarth and all together we consume 1.6 times what Earth's natural resources can offer us (1). With this statistic alone, it is prevalent that if we continue to consume more than what Earth can offer us, we will run out of natural resources. Running out of natural resources such as food will drastically affect the Homo sapiens race as well as all life forms on Earth. Environmental storms will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Problem Of Global Warming Many people who watch¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ news daily knows that it often display either social unrest, financial crises, or political struggle such as the Syrian war. One reason why Syrians are engaged in a war is that they are experiencing extreme heat and drought which causes them to be more rebellious and aggressive. The underlying cause of these trouble can be due to global warming. Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases trap heat in Earth's atmosphere because some of the sun's ray cannot escape. It is a worldwide phenomenon that impacts each and every one of us because it cause irregular climate patterns, increase the sea levels, and decrease human living standards. We can usually anticipate what the temperature will be the next couple days because there is a normal pattern to it, but recently we have not been able to accurately predict what the weather will be for the week. For instance, the severe snowstorm near the end of winter or the inconsistent temperature throughout the week. This unusual and intense weather event occurs because the warmer atmosphere can now hold and remove more moisture than before and it can affect both the land and ocean conditions (Didier sec.1). The warmer atmosphere causes the annual average rate of precipitation to increase in some area and decrease in others. One example of a decrease in precipitation can be seen in the severe drought in California of 2013. During that time, the governor of California, Jerry Brown, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Global Warming Problems Why has the global warming problem received so much attention in the last few decades? The problem of global warming has gained so much attention because it is a worsening problem in which we have played a massive role in and the effects are taking a toll on the planet and life itself. Global warming has massively affected the ecosystem which is getting the attention of people around the globe. People are now seeing the problems effects and are finding out we are the main cause of global warming, now wanting to bring awareness and fix the problem we caused. Global warming is getting worse by the year and people are seeing the effects and being concerned about the future of the planet and the life it bears. The attention that global warming is receiving is from the worsening conditions and people now being more aware/ informed about the problem.First off, global warming has massively affected and changed the ecosystem and is continuing its rampage getting the attention off people. The atmosphere, oceans and surface of the earth is seeing a steady rise in temperature. Glaciers are melting snow and ice coverage is decreasing, consequently increasing sea levels. According to John Abraham's, "American Leaders Should Read Their Official Climate Science Report"(2017) oceans have risen about 7–8 inches on average and that it is causing city flooding to accelerate. Due to these effects of global warming, more people are beginning to realize how serious it is and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Global Warming Problem In Canada Too much moisture, not enough rain, lots of wind, and strange weather has been a part of global warming. Scientists are mixed up in the report they give about global warming. Some belief that it is here now and others believe it does not be a problem. The general population of Canada believes global warming is here and is a disasterous for our country. Generally Canadians believe that it is the impact of fossil fuels which has caused global warming. Fossil fuels are a major contributor to global warming. The use of oil, gas and coal is the enormous to fuel our transportation, warm our houses, and run our businesses. To begin with, oil is found in almost every area of our lifes. From the beginning of when we find oil to when we throw an oil product away we are adding to global warming. When they find oil, they get it out of the ground. When they get it out of the ground, they pollute the environment by using machinery. The machinery pollutes the air because the carbon monoxide is given off from the machines goes into our atmosphere. If they are "mining" the oil then large amounts of the land is destroyed and will take man, many years to grow again. Again the machinery that is used to strip the oil from the land pollutes the air with its carbon monoxide. The process that is used to take the oil out of the sand also pollutes the air. In addition to that, any of the products that are made from oil result in pollution in the way of factories putting smoke into the air. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When natural gas is looked for, the process to look for it as pollution in the air because people drive around looking for where to find the natural gas. • 5. Global Warming Is A Real Problem Climate Change is an important topic that everyone should be well versed on. Global warming was denied as being a real problem for many years, but the proof cannot be hidden anymore and countries around the world are acknowledging that global warming does exist. It is my pleasure to know that our country will participate in the United Nations Climate Summit. As the CEO of an environmentally conscious company, it is my honor to represent the United States of America at the Summit. Climate Change "refers to changes in the Earth's climate caused by increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide and other pollutants produced by human activity." Global warming is the increase of the average surface temperature on Earth caused by the excess release of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases occur naturally, but in excess it could be harmful to the Earth. Composition of greenhouse gases traps heat from the sun, and this is what helps the Earth stay warm enough to sustain life. The more heat they trap, the warmer the earth gets, and as the planet gets warmer it creates climate changes. The greenhouse gases that are making the earth warmer are generated by human activity. One of the main greenhouse gases is carbon dioxide, which is being mostly released by the burning of fossil fuels. Other gases are Methane, which is released through industrial and agricultural processes and Nitrogen Dioxide which is a product of some industrial processes. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Global Warming Is An Important Problem Global warming is an important problem which people all the world need to solve and prevent the affected of global warming. We just saw a small affected right now, but for a long time, it will take your life away. Why don't we should do something to save the earth as save our life? One person can do nothing but a group of people can make different and change the world. We can do the small things from home, but it also helps us save theearth . Firstly, I think we should create an organization to called " SOE (Save Our Earth). Then, we really the cooperation of everybody, we will make a poster and flyer to propaganda every one knew about the organization and join with us. My drawing is the poster of organization. As we can see in the poster, the Earth very angry with the people, also we have a slogan on it "SAVE THE EARTH". Its means that the earth is an emergency status and really need help from people. Below of the slogan is a image of the earth is sickness. Their color of land is not like before. We can imagine that how people destroyed the earth. In addition, I was drawing some icon like recycle symbol and solar energy. The symbols want to remind people should using the recycle product and every house should using solar energy. So, we can save the environment and help reduce pollution. The poster has a lots meaning, when people saw the poster. They can understand what they need to do right now. The organization will print the poster and stick up these crowded places, so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Global Location Allocation Problem Example 1. The first type of problem discussed was the global location allocation problem. These problems are often seen in large business and can be solved by combining AHP and GP. However, in this smaller example the decision maker is choosing where to send his sales associates. According to the AHP, the goal must first be set, then the criteria, then the alternative locations, as seen in Figure 2. Figure 2. Illustrates the AHP of example 1. After the initial hierarchy was created, as described earlier, to make the problem global and to add the goal programming, weights have to be added to the locations and the criteria as seen in Figure 3. Figure 3. Illustrates the initial AHP combined with GP and created into a global LAP. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next type of LAP is capacitated problems. Capacitated problems can be solved with stochastic models such as DCP, CCP, and the Hybrid Intelligence Algorithm. This example is one generated by [3] which seeks to maximize the probability that the transportation cost doesn't exceed $2,300. In order to do this, the DCP model in Equation 14 was used. Equation 14 Where Pr is the probability and C(x,y|П‰) is the transportation cost. The hybrid intelligence algorithm runs the problem 10,000 times with different environmental criteria. This was done 10 times and the percent error was calculated. These results are shown in Table 3 below. Table 3. Shows the Comparison of the Different Solutions of the Capacitated LAP. Since the percent error does not go above 2.3% and the probability of the transportation cost not exceeding the goal is always above 90%, we can say that it is a viable option to choose the current limits on the constraints (Pop_size, P_c,P_m,О±). Also this indicates that the hybrid algorithm is an effective model to solve these capacitated LAPs. Example 3. The last type of LAP examined is large LAP's. One common way to solve large problems is by two–opt switching, or H4 as discussed in [2]. H4 uses two–opt switching to simultaneously switch the allocation of two locations to make the "path" more efficient. A simple example can be seen in GPS routes that UPS could use to deliver and pick up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Problem Of Global Warming What is a Social Problem? A social issue is defined as an area of conflict in a social setting that influences different people and is often out of reach of the control of an individual or local geographical authority (Weart 73). Some social problems, however, are not perceived universally as such, resulting in a difference in opinion between different groups. Other social issues are universally recognized as justifiable and, therefore, are addressed by everyone. Global warming is a social issue that traverses national borders, making it an international concern. It is a social problem because many diverse social groups from all over the globe have viewed it as a cause for concern (Weart 74). Nations have come together and tried to fight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The effect of these gases has derived its name from greenhouses because of the solar insulation capability they possess. Much like greenhouses, these gases are good absorbers of solar radiation. When solar radiation penetrates the layer of carbon dioxide existing in the air and reaches the earth's surface, the rays are radiated back. Carbon dioxide insulates the reflected radiation from exiting the earth's atmosphere (Archer 79). The result is a temperature increase in the earth's atmosphere due to the concentration of radiation. The temperature increase in the atmosphere causes more evaporation from water bodies. Water vapor in the atmosphere rises, acting as another agent that entraps solar energy. The continued pile up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is a threat to the global climatic balance. Because of this, it has received widespread scrutiny as the leading cause of climate change. Higher atmospheric temperatures affect the climatic zones and natural climatic cycles. Potentially life–threatening consequences occur when the temperature of the atmosphere changes by about a third of a degree Celsius every three years (Houghton 13). The rapid development and expansion of industries that are the main consumers of fossil fuels and coal is a serious concern to the problem of global warming. Measures to curb the growth of the social issue have not been stringently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Problem Of Global Warming Introduction: The only place in our galaxy that we know is inhabitable is now being destroyed by man. As humanity has revolutionized we have created many problems along the way. The main problem we are facing right now is called global warming. We have damaged many ecosystems trying to better ourselves, and we have not yet once thought about the damage we are inflicting on our mother earth. We are already beginning to see the effects of global warming. It will make little changes that will have a huge impact, and devastate many ecosystems and everything living on earth. Thesis: If we do not change our ways now, imagine what the future will have in store for the next generations to come. We will all have to pay the price for the acts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the website called Global Climate Change it stated that "On earth, human activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Over the last century the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil had increased the concentration of the atmospheric carbon dioxide" (Nasa). We don't have to be scientist to know that global warming is happening. If we look around we can see all the damages that we are creating; but it seems like we are just covering our eyes and hoping it will go away. Point 3: Now that we are all aware global warming is happening. The effects that it is having on earth are now very noticeable. The temperatures have risen through the years, and many wonder why. In the Article Global Climate change it states that "The industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 379 parts per million in the last 150 years" (Jackson). My teacher from high school Mrs. Wagner explain to us that all the carbon, and other natural gases we release into the atmosphere will not escape into space. Therefore it will create a thick blanket covering the atmosphere and heating up the planet. That is why the temperature has been going up throughout the years. Rising temperatures are not the only thing happening right now. We are also seeing droughts in many areas where there use to be a lot of fresh water that would flow by. In other places we are seeing flooding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Problem Of Global Warming Global warming is no longer looked upon as a background problem or a side job. It is now one of the biggest political crises that the world faces and it will take global cooperation in order to be solved. One of the biggest problems surrounding climate change is a lack of a clear understanding of what is a safe global temperature cap. Climate science is still, like all science, a developing topic. Scientists cannot yet completely and confidently make sure statements. As of right now, politicians are failing to do enough to slow down the effects humans are having on climate change. The inability of scientists to provide a definite temperature cap and the poor attitudes of a minority of the United Nations' (UN) politicians towards that cap are the reasons politicians are failing to successfully create legislation that will halt human impacts on rising global temperatures. Climate scientists have, for a long time, agreed that climate change is a real and growing threat. They have been able to agree that climate change is a natural process that occurs over millions of years. They have also been able to agree that the climate problem humans are currently facing is not natural. Humans are significantly speeding up the process of climate change through global warming. NASA describes global warming as "the average global surface temperature increase from human emissions of greenhouse gasses" (Dunbar and Conway). In other words, humans, especially those in developed countries, are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Global Warming Is A Real Problem Essay Climate change is something everyone in the world should work to make bigger priority. Human beings do not realize that living the way they want, instead of the way they should, is actually damaging the planet and its climate. The main thing being changed by the people that inhabit the earth is the earth's atmosphere. Our earth is comparable to that of a giant greenhouse, in which the earth's atmosphere is comparable to that of the glass surroundings of an actual greenhouse. Greenhouse Gases are what trap the suns heat along the surface of the earth to keep us warm at night. "Ninety–seven percent of climate scientists agree that humans have changed the earth's atmosphere in dramatic ways over the past two centuries, resulting in global warming". (What is the Greenhouse Effect?) Global warming is a real problem, and it has real consequences. The slow increase in the earth's temperature is called global warming. It is my opinion that this is because of the way people all over the earth go about their daily living. Global warming and climate change can be eliminated by upgrading building infrastructures over a period of time. Stopping the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas will also have a huge impact on reducing global warming and climate change. Deforestation is also aiding in the destruction of our planet by destroying millions of acres of land a year, and leaving the earth gasping for more air. Global Warming according to Microsoft Bookshelf nineteen ninety eight edition is " A conjectural greenhouse effect on earth that is attributed to deforestation and industrial air emissions"(MS Bookshelf 98). Global Warming could be one of the most important issues of the century. As global warming becomes more and more of an issue, the factors surrounding global warming need to be dealt with. Many of the earth?s water supplies would be in danger because of "incursions of seawater," and the effects of incurring seawater could be fatal for many species (129). . If one species goes extinct then in the long run humans suffer. Basic food pyramid principles can be applied to conclude the effects of species extinction. When the polar ice caps melt more water is added to the atmosphere. One finding "suggests that the ocean water is less salty then it was under the ice twenty years earlier" this would "tend to confirm that the melting and shrinking of the ice caps" has already taken place (Barker 43). In general more rain would occur causing a more humid climate. Heavy rains would cause "mudslides like they did in California last summer" killing many people (Cook 58). The rains in California were "torrential and the worst the state has seen" in many years (Hayden 13). If the ocean rises that much then the saltwater incursions would eliminate much of the fresh water in the world. Moisture fuels many of the worst storms in the world. If the ice caps melt obviously much more water will be added to the atmosphere. Hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, typhoons, cyclones, and monsoons, are a few of the most dangerous storms fueled by heat and water. Most people know the catastrophes that all of these storms have created throughout the years. • 13. Essay on The Problem of Global Warming The Problem of Global Warming Imagine you are placed into the future. The year is 2100. You begin to live in this new world. You hear about huge storms over much of the USA that cause severe damage and flooding. San Francisco, New York City, New Orleans, Seattle, and Miami all experience major flooding from the ocean level having risen so high. Thousands and thousands of people perish each summer across the USA alone–hundreds die in Chicago as the temperature soars to 100 for 2 weeks straight. No, this isn't total fantasy. These events all could occur. All of them could result from one thing–global warming. Global warming is a huge problem with many consequences that people don't realize could occur. If we work together,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because more carbon dioxide is being put into the air, there is more absorption by the atmosphere and more reflection back to the surface, so the surface is getting warmer. Now, what actions are resulting in the expansion of the greenhouse effect? Two main causes are burning fossil fuels and driving our cars. According to a NASA earth observatory web page, " fossil fuel burning (coal, oil and gas) releases about 6 billion metric tons per year." On the EPA web site, it is stated that most of the emissions of greenhouse gases, "about 82%, are from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and power our cars." As I said before, driving our cars also is a large cause. For example, Ecobridge states that "Twenty percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions comes from the burning of gasoline in internal–combustion engines of cars and light trucks." So a fair amount of the emissions is from driving your car. Deforestation, the cutting and burning of a forest, also increases the amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A NASA page says that "when a forest is cut and burned to establish cropland and pastures, the carbon that was stored in the tree trunks (wood is about 50% carbon) joins with oxygen and is released into the atmosphere as CO2. CO2, is, of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Global Warming Is A Big Problem Chandler Easter Mrs. Gallos English 3 Global Warming Global warming is a big problem and impacts our environment in a negative way because it is heating the Earth. Global warming impacts all of the life around us even though not many people recognize it. There are many problems that global warming will make to our environment and it has already impacted it over time. Although, there are many problems, there are also solutions to stop global warming. Climate change is most closely related to global warming and many scientists have found ways to try and put a stop to it. One of the biggest problems of global warming is the global climate change that is occurring. Some examples of how it is changing is that temperatures are rising and have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Global warming also causes intense weather and weather patterns. When the ocean water heats up, then that means it will create hurricanes and as the Earth continues to heat up then it will make even stronger hurricanes over time. Hurricanes are increasing because "in some ocean basins, hurricane intensification has been linked to rising ocean temperatures"(Global Warming Impacts). Other times of weather that can occur in some areas are flooded because of excess precipitation. Excess precipitation can be a bad thing because flooding is destroying a lot of things, for example military bases near the coast. Wildfires are beginning to occur more often now since the Earth is heating up which is a disaster because that affects plants and animals. If wildfires occur, then many forests will die and that will pollute the air even more. ` There are a few solutions to stop global warming and the most common one is to reduce the burning of fossil fuels. Whenever people use an automobile, a car, bus, or plane, then that is polluting the air, which will warm the Earth because the ozone layer is getting destroyed. Although many people have to have transportation, if they cut down on their driving or got more energy efficient cars then it would help a lot. The car that you buy is a very important factor because "each gallon of gas you use is responsible for 25 pounds of heat–trapping gases in the atmosphere"(Ten). • 15. Global Warming Is A Problem What is global warming? Global warming is the polar bears and penguins fighting for their lives because their home is melting. Global warming is seventy–degree weather in the middle of February. Global warming is the rapid increase in tropical storms. Global warming is the California drought. Global warming is the harmful wildfires occurring in our forests (NRDC). Many people, mostly politicians, believe that global warming is a problem that doesn't exist. Global warming is a real issue that we cannot solve unless we all work together to fix it. The results of climate change are detrimental to the way we live our lives and the animals of the planet as well. If we as a species don't acknowledge the problem, it cannot be resolved. The first major problem produced by global warming is deforestation. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make land available for other uses (Live Science). Patches of land being destroyed each year are measured to be the size of Panama (National Geographic). A lot of deforestation is caused by man themselves. Farmers cut down trees to make room for more crops and heat their homes and loggers build roads so they can get deeper and deeper into the forests. Deforestation's biggest impact is the loss of many habitats. Seventy percent of all the animals and plants on earth reside in forests and they cannot survive without it (NG). Once the trees are cut down, the soil is exposed. Since the trees blocked most of the sun out, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Kyoto Protocol : A Global Problem Kyoto Protocol: Introduction: 1. The problem of Global Warming has been one that has increased dramatically throughout the past 150 years. This is thought to be due to increased industrialisation throughout the world in this time and this is backed up by the fact that approximately 97%(NASA, n.d.) of scientists worldwide believe that it is strongly likely the increasing global climate is due to human activity. International cooperation is required in order to solve the problem of global warming as it takes a global effort to solve a global problem. In order to reduce worldwide carbon emissions that lead to global warming, every country has to work together in order for real progress to eventuate. It isn't good enough for most countries to reduce their carbon emissions while the main emitters like USA and China, continue to emit almost as much as the rest of the nations in the agreement. The Kyoto Protocol was created in 1997 to encourage the governments around the world to reduce their greenhouse–gas emissions. The specific goal was that countries should try to reduce their carbon emissons by 5.2% below their 1990 level by 2012. This 5.2% is a collective goal however and different countries had different targets, for example developed countries such as the USA had higher targets to reach (reduce emissions by 7%) whereas developing countries were able to increase their emissions slightly. This is because the developing countries were not the ones responsible for the initial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Industrialization has been proved to release high amounts of carbon dioxide since the Industrial Revolution began in the early 19th century. The total amount of carbon dioxide has increased by one ? third of the usual amount in the atmosphere. Transportation uses fossil fuels to run and as a result, it produces gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Now, in the modern lifestyle, most of the people want and have private cars. This further increases the amount carbon dioxide released to the air by the means of transportation. The biggest cause of global warming is forest burning. The man looks back to today's date and asks himself why we did not stop the climate change when we had the chance. However, today global warming is out of control, global temperatures are steadily rising. "The primary cause, a consensus of scientists has said, is the rising emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane" (Stone, 2013). The CO2 stays in the atmosphere for 50 to 100 years, nitrous oxide for 114 years while the methane stay in the atmosphere for at least 12 years. The impact of these greenhouse gases is of an immediate concern as it is increasing and is long lasting so we should not wait any longer to control the human activities that produce these greenhouse gases causing the climate change. For instance, we do not want to wait for another hurricane such as Katrina to occur. Hurricane Katrina was a climate change effect. The Regents of the University of California (2014) states Hurricane Katrina and other hurricanes develop when the water and the sun heat the air above the ocean and causes atmospheric low pressures known as tropical depressions. The heat on the air above the ocean causes the hurricane. Besides, scientists say that temperature depends on the greenhouse gases (GHGs) such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane, nitrous oxide and water (H2O) vapor in the atmosphere. These greenhouses ... It is increasing day after day, harming our planet's atmosphere by reducing the strength of the ozone layer. Global warming is putting all basic human needs in jeopardy. There are various reasons behind global warming. One of the major reasons is fuel engine cars and trucks we use in our everyday lives. Fuel engine cars leave a trail of unhealthy monoxide gas as the result of combustion in the engine. Carbon Monoxide is one of many gases which is harmful to the ozone layer. Global warming is already causing high temperatures, rising sea levels, floods, and droughts. To help reduce the effects of the fuel engine cars on our environment we should start using electric cars. Electric cars run on rechargeable batteries which do not leave a trail of carbon monoxide. Electric cars are fuel–efficient vehicles which use less gas to travel the same distance as their less efficient counterparts. When we burn less fuel, we generate fewer emissions. When emissions go down, the pace of global warming slows. Cleaner fuels produce fewer emissions when they are burned. Some fuels such as those made from biofuels can reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to gasoline, and cleaner extraction techniques can ensure that dirty fuel like oil doesn't get dirtier. Electric cars will also help many countries stop fighting over fuel and also give countries independence. Electric cars should be globalized so that it helps create a ... The United States needs to figure out a way to fulfill their massive demand for power while ensuring the safety of the planet. There are many possible ways to attack the problem at hand. The first proposal is to mandate the installment of solar rooftop units throughout the country. Another proposal is to install solar parks throughout the country. A final proposal is to simply incentivize the use and development of solar energy while phasing out fossil fuels. By implementing one of these three proposals, the United States government could help solve a problem that looms over the entire population. The major problem solar energy will look to fix is global warming. Global warming is the gradual increase of the average global temperature. This rise in heat is caused by the greenhouse effect, which "is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. What would be the result of such a catastrophe, how long would it take, who would be affects, and would we suffer any loss because of this? Global climate change has been more and more discussed with the ever changing climate, and the rise of water levels, we need to figure out why the water levels have been changing so rapidly. Global warming is a growing problem in the world and it needs to be solved. Global warming is a growing problem that can be seen in the history, cause, effect, different aspects, and possible solutions. To start, global warming has been a growing problem for several years across the world. Global warming is the warming of the Earth's atmosphere (Ward 56). The increase in temperature has to be over a long period of time. When toxic gases likecarbon dioxide and methane are released into the open air and are trapped in the atmosphere (Staff). These greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer, making sunrays easier to reach Earth. This depletion overall increases the heat in the world. In fact, the greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere cause a spike in global temperature, known as global warming. In the beginning, global warming was first discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824. Fourier discovered that the atmospheric gases can increase global temperatures. In 1938 Guy Callendar discovers that greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. Several more studies are taken over time to record the change in global temperature over many years. By 1968 glaciologist John Mercer argues that glaciers are beginning to melt due to the ... • 31. Global Warming Problems What is global warming and what is it doing to our planet? One major problem today is global warming and how it will affect our future if we don't do something but we can start today. Global warming (also known as climate change) is when there is a great increase in temperature. Some activity that can happen if we don't do something is that sea levels will rise and the chance of coastal flooding will increase. There can also be more destructive hurricanes, more frequent and intense heat waves, greater risk of health, extreme weather like more snow, greater precipitation, more droughts, a decrease in the production of our food, melting ice which will lead to the increase in sea levels, and also the seasons could change. There are many things we can do to prevent this from happening, we just need to act fast. One problem of global warming is the increasing of CO2. "Climate change is primarily a problem of too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere" (Why). There are a lot of things that are causing CO2 to be in our atmosphere like for example cutting trees when you cut down a tree all the carbon dioxide the tree was storing is released to our atmosphere. Also the burning of fossil fuels is also releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. Cars and power plant release heat–trapping emissions and once they are released they are warming the earth. Another problem is greenhouse gases they are also the ones who cause global warming by emitting gases into our atmosphere that are bad ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Global Warming : Deforestation Is A Serious Problem Global Warming: Deforestation Global warming has become a serious problem for us, and the Earth itself. Global warming is when Earth's temperature increases, due mainly to human activity and the greenhouse effect. This is affecting our atmosphere, causing an increase in temperature. This is mostly humans' fault since we are the ones that contribute the most to global warming. Due to overpopulation, the demand for many of the things we use everyday have increased dramatically. Factories and the burning of fossil fuels for example, contribute a great part to global warming. Deforestation however, is a greater problem than the two previously mentioned. There are many trees being cut down for different reasons, and this has become a major driver of global warming, responsible for up to 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions–more than all the cars, trucks, planes, boats and trains in the world combined" (Solutions to Deforestation). Many may argue that deforestation only comes at the cost of processes that are needed. This can be true, but it still does not take away from the fact that it is destroying our environment and needs to be reduced as much as possible. Some of the processes include urbanization, mining, industrial logging, and agribusiness. With urbanization and expansion, instead of knocking down buildings, we choose to expand by tearing down trees and natural landscapes. We also are then having to build more roads which in turn fragments the landscape, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Global Warming : A Serious Problem For someone who does not celebrate Christmas, December was enjoyably warm last year. My grandfather said he brought the warmth when he came back from Pakistan the month before; but for me, the outdoor activities that weekend were a guilty pleasure. I had daymares about sea levels rising and destroying the beautiful seacoast I have always called my home, my daughter growing up in a world lacking in luxuries that I have always had, cursing me for not taking care of the earth that she was to live on. I saved my grandpa the worry of what I know is a very serious problem: Global Warming("What's Behind the Freakishly Warm Winter in the Eastern U.S.?"). Accordingly, there is a popular quote that frequents my Facebook newsfeed regularly: "There is no Planet B." This would have meant nothing to me before, but taking Introduction to Environmental Issues has enlightened me on the true complexity of the global warming crisis. We have an exponentially growing human population with proportionally increasing demands that rob the health of this planet. Every single action we take is linked to toxic waste choking the immense but limited ocean. Pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is exposing every vulnerable life to the harmful rays of the sun and drowning precious land where water shouldn't be. Global warming is no longer a debate but a crisis to be quickly addressed, considering more than 97 percent of scientists agree that climate change is a direct result of human ... • 35. The Problem Of Global Warming Introduction Global warming can be said to be accelerating in a rapid manner. In fact, many countries, ecosystems as well as people are suffering from its impacts. Climate change has affected the weather patterns and has indeed disrupted the variability and trends that exist in climate. This has resulted into an increase in climate–related extremes such as heavy downpour, floods, surges, and droughts. However, it has been seen that indeed most of the affected nations are the ones that have not even contributed immensely to pollution of the globe. Climate change presents an environmental challenge, economic challenge and social challenge to the country that it affects. Bangladesh is a standout amongst the most defenseless nations to climate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... South Asia has been described as one of the most vulnerable regions of the world that are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. This is despite the fact that most of these areas in South Asia have over the years been known to produce very low carbon IV oxide into the atmosphere. The international community has recognized that indeed Bangladesh ranks high in the list of the countries that are most vulnerable on earth. It is of the essence to note that Bangladesh's high vulnerability often occurs because of its unique hydro–geological, as well as socio–economic factors. Some of these factors include its geographical location that lies in South Asia, its low elevation with deltaic topography, it extreme climate variability and the fact that majority of its population are often dependent on crop agriculture that is highly influenced by the climate in the area. The main aim of this research paper is to discover the impact of climate change in Bangladesh economy. This research purposefully focuses on the agricultural sector, and this is because this is the main source of the country's economy. Further, most people in the nation are dependent on food crops. This paper intends to consult several different and diverse geographical studies of the regions that will be exclusive to the climate effects on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Global Warming Is A Serious Problem Global warming is a serious problem the world faces today. Most people don't know, or just don't care, what global warming is and how it affects them. What causes global warming? What effect is it or will it have on my life? How can we fix it? It is not too late to save our planet but it will take some effort from everyone. The earth's atmosphere is supposed to trap heat or the earth would freeze overnight and it would be uninhabitable. The problem is all the extra chemicals that we are putting up in the atmosphere like methane and co2. When we put all these chemicals in the air they build up in the atmosphere and trap even more heat than is needed resulting in rising temperatures. However chemicals in the air are not the only reason for climate change and the decline of our environment. Five millions gallons of toxins are dumped into the oceans every day and as a result of this and over fishing sixty present of all the big fish in the sea are gone. In the U.S. ninety five present of our old growth forests are gone(The 11th Hour). The ice caps are melting which is causing sea levels to rise. Sea levels are expected to rise between seven and twenty three inches by the end of the century and continued melting at the poles could add another four to eight inches(NationalGeographic). Almost everything we do effects our environment and atmosphere. Kenny Ausubel, founder of the Bioneers, stated "At the end of the day, when we all talk about saving the environment, in a way it's ... • 37. The Problem Of Global Warming Analyse the problem of global warming and suggest possible solution With the rising global temperatures, the global warming has become more and more popular. In fact, it is a natural phenomenon, which has developed in recent decades due to human?s activities, such as burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. These actions will produce large amounts of greenhouse gas, which would cause the Earth 's temperature go up so that the climate will change. More importantly, the Global warming melt all the world 's glaciers and permafrost so that the level of the sea will go up. As a result, human and natural ecosystems will suffer from great harm. There are many reasons why the global climate is changing. Among those, there are two main reasons, the surge of population and serious environmental pollution. Unfortunately, those two reasons are caused by our human?s activities. This essay will analyse the cause of this problem and list two solutions on global warming. The first one is to promote clean energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels. The second one is to call for people to eat meat. The most important factor the climate change is the growing population. Proportional to the increase in human population and resource consumption, and faster population growth and large population size, the more emissions will impact on the climate. The relationship between population and climate change is complex, not as simply as reducing the performance of the total population change or the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Is Global Warming A Legitimate Problem? Essay Global Warming as a subject is a very common one in today's subjects of conversation. Man had been so caught up with the civilization advancements, that we did not realize how much damage we were doing to the Earth, until recently, where soon it can be too late. Though many people quickly disregard this problem, as being not a significant danger in their lifetime, soon as years go on and if we do not change our ways, the Earth may not be the lush, green planet as our astronauts from space see it today. Now the question has to be asked, is global warming a legitimate problem in today's society, and if it is, what can we do to stop it? Global warming is already getting out of hand, though it has only recently come to the people's attention. It first got the media's attention when one of the worst droughts in decades was recorded in the summer of 1988 as stated by UC San Diego Virtual Museum. Speculation had developed that man–made greenhouse effects were finally put in estimated speculation that the earth's temperature might arise. After that year, record breaking temperatures kept being recorded, and people were afraid that global warming has been already upon us, and it was only going to get worse. Carbon dioxide, is one of the major, harmful gases that gets trapped in the greenhouse effect. CO2 gets released when fossil fuels are burned and when CO2 circulatory systems are destroyed, such as deforestation. Just in the last ten years 25 million CO2 parts per million had ... • 39. Essay on Global Warming: Is it a Real Problem? Think of a person riding downhill on a bicycle that has no brake on the wheels, and who knows that there is a large glass plate placed vertically somewhere across the way. The person is sensible enough to predict that if he continues to enjoy this ever accelerating ride, he is going to collide against the invisible glass plate in a short interval. But he is so deeply content on this ride that even after the knowledge of a certain accident ahead unless he jumps out of the bicycle, he is willing to go a bit farther for his personal fulfillment. Today, we face a similar situation in which we are seemingly unwilling to help ourselves out of a possibly disastrous problem of global temperature rise. For as long as human beings have been in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can also rephrase this statement by stating that excessive greenhouse gases would inviteglobal warming. Carbon dioxide is the greenhouse gas naturally found in the atmosphere. Since the advent of the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s, humans have devised many inventions that burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gases, which, along with other human activities such as clearing land for agriculture or urban settlements, help some of these greenhouse gases accumulate in the atmosphere that in turn trap more heat radiation in the atmosphere causing the Earth's climate to become warmer than it would naturally (Mastrandrea). This unnatural phenomenon is termed global warming by scientists and they blame it for an increase in the Earth's surface temperature of about 0.6В°C (about 1В°F) over the last 100 years (Mastrandrea). So, is the temperature really rising? This simple answer to this question is "Yes." According to Watson, we now have strong evidences that the climate is changing and that human activities were the primary cause of the changes during the 20th century (24). He asserts that the temperature increase in the 20th century was greater than that for any other century during the last 1000 years and the temperatures now are warmer than at any time during this period (26). Johns acclaim that the rise in CO2 levels from 280 parts per million around 1700s to 380 p.m. Today is the major factor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
