The Woodward UG-10D governor is located on the turbine and the speed can be altered between
70%-105% of the rated speed with the control switch in the engine control room.
Speed Alternation
While operating the turbine, LO is supplied to the bearing metal, the reduction gear, etc via the
main LO pump.
Furthermore, in order to maintain safe operation, a priming LO pump driven by an independent
electric motor is employed. When the turbine starts up, it is designed not to start up until LO line
pressure rises between 0.04 to 0.06 MPaG even when the inlet steam valve is open. Also, when
the turbine stops, the priming LO pump remains in operation to keep the LO pressure between
0.04-0.06MPaG until the turbine stops completely.
