planning stage!
• Determine your
topic/ideas after
thinking & chatting
• Jot notes using a
bubble map, web,
bulleted list, or some
other graphic
organizer
• Notes should be
fragments & phrasesNOT complete
sentences!

4. Step 2: Drafting…the writing
stage!
• Select your writing
ideas from your prewriting notes and
stretch those notes
into complete
sentences!
• Write, write, write
without worrying
about spelling….just
get the ideas down!
