2. SUMMARY
 Resolution authorizes the City Manager to renew
an interlocal agreement between the cities of
Alamo Heights and Schertz for the purpose of
EMS billing
 AHEMS would like to continue relationship with
Schertz EMS
 Specialized position for billing of insurance
companies

3. BACKGROUND
 Current contract expires 09/30/2022
 Renewal for one year with the option for
auto renewal through 09/30/2025
 Renewal rate fixed throughout term of
contract in 2025

4. POLICY ANALYSIS
 Important source of revenue to the system to
off-set recurring costs
 City attorney has reviewed and approved
the renewal agreement, same as previous
renewal

5. FISCAL IMPACT
 Schertz EMS will charge 9% of the amount
collected to be paid monthly – no increase
 Based on historical data and current collection rate,
the cost would range between $18,000 to
$21,000. If collection percentage rises, then the
cost would also rise.
 Collection rate consistently in 60%+ range since
2013 minus mandated contractual allowances
