insurance companies

Share the same philosophy towards customers – personalized,
friendly and works with everyone
All billing electronic and takes credit card payments over the
phone
Delinquent accounts treated the same
Collection rate is consistent with AHEMS current
4. Background
Current contract expires 09/30/2017
Renewal for one year with the option for auto
renewal through 09/30/2022
Renewal rate fixed throughout term of contract in
2022
5. Policy Analysis
Importance of revenue to the system to off-
set recurring costs
City attorney has reviewed and approved the
renewal agreement
6. Fiscal Impact
Schertz EMS will charge 9% of the amount collected
paid monthly – a 1% increase
Increase in rate primarily due to off-site storage of
records through South Texas Regional Advisory
Committee (STRAC)
Based on historical data and current collection rate,
the cost would range between $18,000 to $21,000. If
collection percentage rises, then the cost would also
rise.
Collection rate consistently in 60%+ range since 2013
minus mandated contractual allowances
