PCAPP obtained VPP Star status during construction
Goal: Achieve Star status for systemization and
operations in 2013
• Week of May 9, 2013: VPP mentors from other chemical
demilitarization sites reviewing PCAPP application
6. Safety Behavior Observation Team
Observation and feedback process focus on worker behavior
Positively reinforces safe behaviors that prevent injuries
and discusses at-risk behaviors that contribute to injuries

How many unsafe conditions can you find? PCAPP
workers evaluate a simulated hazards scene as part of
on-going safety training. The new Hazard School Board
comes up with quarterly simulations to train employees
about working safely.

Recognizes employees who demonstrate Quality,
Safety or Environmental excellence
Recognition by coworkers, supervisors and
managers
Motivates employees to improve PCAPP for
themselves and their coworkers
