What is Quality Assurance (QA)
Quality assurance is the planned and systemic review process of an institution or program
to determine whether or not acceptable standards of education, scholarship and
infrastructure are being met , maintained and enhanced.
Quality assurance is a holistic approach covering all the processes in higher education
institution in order to serve the student and other stakeholders in expected quality
standards. The success of quality assurance depends on the support of the management.
Quality assurance provide tools and processes to enable use to meet our goals .
Aim of QA
 The aim of quality assurance in higher education is to guarantee the
improvement of standards and quality in higher education in order to make
higher education meet the need of students, employers and financiers (Lomas
2002)
Accreditation
 Official approval given by an organization when somebody some things achives
a certain standards.
 The recognition of an institution which can demonstrate that its programmers
meet acceptable standards and that it has in place effective system to ensure
the quality and continuing improvement of its academic activities according to
the criteria published by the agency.
Function of Quality Assurance
1. To maintained standards and specification for all raw material & finished product .
2. To produce information that is accurate, reliable and adequate for the intended
purpose .
3. Evaluating performance service of the quality of a product against a system
standards or specified requirement for customers.
Objective –
 Annually facilitate self assessment of all academic programs .
 Continuously monitor the quality and teaching at delivery points.
 Annually conduct quality audit affiliated institutions as per schedule.
 Facilitate the review of all academic program.
 Continuously validate new academic program as per as academic quality
assurance regulation.
Mission and vision
 Ensure and enhance academic quality assurance in all program within the
university.
 Provides academic leadership for the university and assure that the
mission of the university is clarified pursued and achieved through the
program of the collage.
 Leads the faculty in developing the vision and inspiring other to accept
and extend the vision for the university.
 Sets priorities and environments of academic excellence through review
and development of curriculum, research and partnership initiatives.
 An ability to oversee appropriate students development and placement
programing as well as having demonstrated commitment to students and
diversity in all its forms.

National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC)
 India has one of the largest and diverse education system in the world
the national policy on education NEP 1986 and program of action
established an independent nation accreditation agency to improve
the quality of higher education . the national assessment and
accredition council NAAC was establist in 1994 has an autonomy
institution of the university grants commission UGC with its
headquater in benglore .
Why accreditation
 The NAAC has been set up to help all participating institutions assess
their performance ,set parameter . a rating agency for academic
excellence across India, and the country first such effort.
 Education play a vital role in the development of any nation. There is
a premium on both quantity (increased access) and quality (relevance
and excellence of academic programs offered ) of higher education .

Mission
 To arrange the periodic assessment and accreditation of institutional
of higher education or unit thereof or specific academic programs or
projects.
 To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of
teaching learning and research in higher.
 To encourage self -evaluation accountability , autonomy and
innovations in higher education.
 To undertake quality -related research studies consultancy and
training programs.
 To collaborate with other stakeholder of higher education for quality
evaluation, pramotion and sustenance.
National institutional ranking framework (NIRF)
 The National institutional ranking framework (NIRF) was approved by the
MHRD and lunched by minister of human resource development on 29
September 2015 .
 The framework uses several parameter for ranking purpose .
 These parameters were assigned certain weightages.
 3500 institution voluntarily participated in the first round of rankings.

 Faculty student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR)
 Combined metric for faculty with PhD equivalent and experiances (FQR)

Internal Quality assurance cell (IQAC)
 NACC has propose that every institution should establish an internal
quality assurance cell as a quality substance measure.
 Quality enhancement is a continuous processes, the IQAC will become
a part of the institutions system and work towards realization of the
goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
 The prime task of the IOAC is develop a system for conscious
consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of
institution.
 The work of the IQAC is first step towards internalization and
institutionalization of quality enhancement initiative.
IQAC VISION
 To ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the higher
education institutions through institutionalizing and internalizing all
the initiatives taken with internal and external support.
Function of IQAC
 Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameter in
various activities of the institution.
 Parameter for various academic and administrative activities of the
institution .
 Dissemination of information on quality aspect,
 Organization of discussion, workshop, seminar and promotion of
quality circles.
 Recording and monitoring quality measures of the institution.
 Preparation and submission of annual quality assurance report as per
guidelines and parameter of NAAC.
Strategies
 Ensuring timely ,efficient and progressive performance of administrative and financial
task.
 Relevant and quality academic and research programs.
 Use of modern of teaching and learning .
 Sharing of research finding and networking with other institutions.
 Sharing of academic /extra and co-curricular activities with all staff member and
students.

Quality Assurance and institutional accreditation performance indicators and institutional frame work -NIRF,NAAC,IQAC

What is Quality Assurance (QA) Quality assurance is the planned and systemic review process of an institution or program to determine whether or not acceptable standards of education, scholarship and infrastructure are being met , maintained and enhanced. Quality assurance is a holistic approach covering all the processes in higher education institution in order to serve the student and other stakeholders in expected quality standards. The success of quality assurance depends on the support of the management. Quality assurance provide tools and processes to enable use to meet our goals .
  • 3. Aim of QA  The aim of quality assurance in higher education is to guarantee the improvement of standards and quality in higher education in order to make higher education meet the need of students, employers and financiers (Lomas 2002)
  • 4. Accreditation  Official approval given by an organization when somebody some things achives a certain standards.  The recognition of an institution which can demonstrate that its programmers meet acceptable standards and that it has in place effective system to ensure the quality and continuing improvement of its academic activities according to the criteria published by the agency.
  • 5. Function of Quality Assurance 1. To maintained standards and specification for all raw material & finished product . 2. To produce information that is accurate, reliable and adequate for the intended purpose . 3. Evaluating performance service of the quality of a product against a system standards or specified requirement for customers.

Objective –  Annually facilitate self assessment of all academic programs .  Continuously monitor the quality and teaching at delivery points.  Annually conduct quality audit affiliated institutions as per schedule.  Facilitate the review of all academic program.  Continuously validate new academic program as per as academic quality assurance regulation.
  • 7. Mission and vision  Ensure and enhance academic quality assurance in all program within the university.  Provides academic leadership for the university and assure that the mission of the university is clarified pursued and achieved through the program of the collage.  Leads the faculty in developing the vision and inspiring other to accept and extend the vision for the university.  Sets priorities and environments of academic excellence through review and development of curriculum, research and partnership initiatives.  An ability to oversee appropriate students development and placement programing as well as having demonstrated commitment to students and diversity in all its forms.

National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC)  India has one of the largest and diverse education system in the world the national policy on education NEP 1986 and program of action established an independent nation accreditation agency to improve the quality of higher education . the national assessment and accredition council NAAC was establist in 1994 has an autonomy institution of the university grants commission UGC with its headquater in benglore .

Why accreditation  The NAAC has been set up to help all participating institutions assess their performance ,set parameter . a rating agency for academic excellence across India, and the country first such effort.  Education play a vital role in the development of any nation. There is a premium on both quantity (increased access) and quality (relevance and excellence of academic programs offered ) of higher education .

Mission  To arrange the periodic assessment and accreditation of institutional of higher education or unit thereof or specific academic programs or projects.  To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching learning and research in higher.  To encourage self -evaluation accountability , autonomy and innovations in higher education.  To undertake quality -related research studies consultancy and training programs.  To collaborate with other stakeholder of higher education for quality evaluation, pramotion and sustenance.

National institutional ranking framework (NIRF)  The National institutional ranking framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and lunched by minister of human resource development on 29 September 2015 .  The framework uses several parameter for ranking purpose .  These parameters were assigned certain weightages.  3500 institution voluntarily participated in the first round of rankings.

Internal Quality assurance cell (IQAC)  NACC has propose that every institution should establish an internal quality assurance cell as a quality substance measure.  Quality enhancement is a continuous processes, the IQAC will become a part of the institutions system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.  The prime task of the IOAC is develop a system for conscious consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institution.  The work of the IQAC is first step towards internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement initiative.
  • 21. IQAC VISION  To ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the higher education institutions through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiatives taken with internal and external support.

Function of IQAC  Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameter in various activities of the institution.  Parameter for various academic and administrative activities of the institution .  Dissemination of information on quality aspect,  Organization of discussion, workshop, seminar and promotion of quality circles.  Recording and monitoring quality measures of the institution.  Preparation and submission of annual quality assurance report as per guidelines and parameter of NAAC.
