2. What is Quality Assurance (QA)
Quality assurance is the planned and systemic review process of an institution or program
to determine whether or not acceptable standards of education, scholarship and
infrastructure are being met , maintained and enhanced.
Quality assurance is a holistic approach covering all the processes in higher education
institution in order to serve the student and other stakeholders in expected quality
standards. The success of quality assurance depends on the support of the management.
Quality assurance provide tools and processes to enable use to meet our goals .
3. Aim of QA
The aim of quality assurance in higher education is to guarantee the
improvement of standards and quality in higher education in order to make
higher education meet the need of students, employers and financiers (Lomas
2002)
4. Accreditation
Official approval given by an organization when somebody some things achives
a certain standards.
The recognition of an institution which can demonstrate that its programmers
meet acceptable standards and that it has in place effective system to ensure
the quality and continuing improvement of its academic activities according to
the criteria published by the agency.
5. Function of Quality Assurance
1. To maintained standards and specification for all raw material & finished product .
2. To produce information that is accurate, reliable and adequate for the intended
purpose .

standards or specified requirement for customers.

9. National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC)
India has one of the largest and diverse education system in the world
the national policy on education NEP 1986 and program of action
established an independent nation accreditation agency to improve
the quality of higher education . the national assessment and
accredition council NAAC was establist in 1994 has an autonomy
institution of the university grants commission UGC with its
headquater in benglore .
10. Why accreditation
The NAAC has been set up to help all participating institutions assess
their performance ,set parameter . a rating agency for academic
excellence across India, and the country first such effort.
Education play a vital role in the development of any nation. There is
a premium on both quantity (increased access) and quality (relevance
and excellence of academic programs offered ) of higher education .

15. National institutional ranking framework (NIRF)
The National institutional ranking framework (NIRF) was approved by the
MHRD and lunched by minister of human resource development on 29
September 2015 .
The framework uses several parameter for ranking purpose .
These parameters were assigned certain weightages.
3500 institution voluntarily participated in the first round of rankings.

20. Internal Quality assurance cell (IQAC)
NACC has propose that every institution should establish an internal
quality assurance cell as a quality substance measure.
Quality enhancement is a continuous processes, the IQAC will become
a part of the institutions system and work towards realization of the
goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
The prime task of the IOAC is develop a system for conscious
consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of
institution.
The work of the IQAC is first step towards internalization and
institutionalization of quality enhancement initiative.
