2. Purpose
To allow individuals to be informed of upcoming events at KOKO in CamdenTown.
It will be a way of advertising what is to happen and allows for the word to be spread about what
artists will perform in North London.
3. Genre
KOKO, the venue that the magazine is about: is based on the rock and indie circuit but
also plays music from other genres and so the magazine would span between whatever
genre is being played.
However, as KOKO mainly plays indie and rock the magazine will have a rock feel to it
4. TargetAudience
My primary target audience is of the age group between
23 and 29 as this group is more likely to attend these
events to socialise as well as for entertainment.
5. Form
It would consist of 115 pages giving the appropriate and
relevant information for each event it advertises.
The ability to open it up online enables for all the audiences
to read it on the go!
6. Content and Article Ideas
The first edition will be about the reopening of the venue as it
has been shut for refurbishment for over a year and so it will
create excitement for the first show they hold
The main article would inform what artists will be playing at the
reopening.
Other articles will be small information nuggets of what is to be
playing at upcoming events.
7. Unique Selling Points
These would include things such as discounts and presale tickets for events coming up at
KOKO.
For example, this could include 10% off ticket prices if booked during the presale using a
discount code included in the magazine which would be unique to each one.
As well as giving links to ticket sites where tickets for upcoming concerts can be bought
before they are publicly announced.
12. How I would stop
potential issues
The way I would stop my information being
released on social media is by ensuring that
contracts are in place for everyone who needs
one.
This is to stop information being released before
the magazine announces it
13. Online Presence
As previously stated the magazine will be available
online so that it can be read on the go.
It will also cost £2.75 with the availability to purchase
an annual subscription for £35 with door to door
delivery or the availability to open it up on the go,
wherever and whenever the consumer wants to.
14. Distribution
As it is about the venue the magazine will be available
inside KOKO during shows and during the week in
surrounding areas such as supermarkets or corner
shops in CamdenTown.
However, the magazine would also be available online
and so pop-ups online would be good advertisement
for the online version of the magazine.
15. Marketing Methods
The magazine would be marketed buy promotion before a performance and during
intervals if there are any.
The social media used to promote the magazine can include Facebook and Instagram
which are used primarily by the primary target audience, would show campaigns including
pictures of artists that have upcoming events or pictures of the artist on the front cover or
double page spread to tease what the magazine is to hold.
16. Other Marketing Methods
For the upcoming weeks to the reopening, there will be Instagram and Snapchat filters
available online to help build the suspense and excitement for the event.
This also helps with the marketing as it is free for consumers to use and still promotes the
events that Artists Attack is promoting.
17. Price
I have chosen the price of £2 .75 for the magazine for both one time and subscription
purchases as it fits within the target audiences' price range and how much they should be
able to afford comfortably without damaging their bank account.
This ensures that there are regular customers for the magazine and venue as they will see
all the events available to them in advance with vouchers and coupons to be able to get
discounts on ticket prices
18. Font Ideas
These fonts will be in the theme colours for the magazine and so may be black, white, red or gold
dependent on the background so that they are visible and attention grabbing.
Artist’s Attack
19. Magazines in Competition
This magazine will be unique and will not only have rock
but a few other genres included from time to time and
would be about a specific rock venue.
This would be a unique selling point in comparison to
other rock magazines as they do not focus on venues and
do not give extra information our discounts on tickets,
giving this magazine a leg up and being a strength to
play with.
