1. The magazine I propose to create is an indie-rock (rock,
alternative and indie) magazine called InD. The name is
relatable, short and catchy. I plan to have a very bold and
specific logo, enabling the audience to instantly familiarise
themselves when they see it. My magazine will cover both fun
and uplifting style along with a darker side, depending on the
band or artist the magazine is focused on, rather than the
band or artist working around the magazine, the magazine
will work around the band/artist. Relating to the audience

audience’s favourite bands and artists to enable them to engage
with my magazine. Q magazine includes a lot of context in

more expensive than Kerrang, Q being £15, Kerrang being only
£2.20. However, I will be combining the styles and ideas from Q,
NME and Kerrang magazines to create a much wider target
audience, making it accessible for many more people.

well organised, neat, professional and eye catching. Just like Q, I will include an eye

4. My magazine deserves a place in the shops today as my magazine
unique and different to the usual music magazine. My USP will be that
my magazine will include indie bands and artists which are mainstream
and at the same time, I will include new upcoming artists for the
individualists in my target audience. By including upcoming artists, this
will enable the audience to discover new bands and artist that they have
never heard about and this will make my readers feel like they are the
first people who are getting this new information first before anyone
else. My readers will have limited information on these artists,
knowledge about the upcoming gigs, tracks and events. I will also have
competitions for my readers to win exclusive and exciting prizes such as
signed merchandise or VIP tickets for their favourite artists.

want my magazine to be the best quality with time spent into
it as opposed to rushing it to get it done each week. Q
magazine and NME magazine are both monthly magazines.
This is the usual choice for a music magazine. Therefore I shall

professional.

adolescent young adults. The

target audience. I will include bright colours which engages
the younger audience and I will also include dark, subtle and
neutral colours to entice the older section of my target
audience. I will use gels to create bold, vibrant colours and I
will use a soft box or umbrella lights for
a more subtle, natural look.
