Twitter Reflections
@CI350Class:
This twitter account always posted about different tools that could help someone. It was
also always kept up to date with current events and popular hashtags. The theme of this account
is definitely informational. There were a lot of links shared to this twitter account. An example of
how there were many links shared and how it was informational is the screen shot that I have
provided below. The screenshot that I have presented is a link that was shared to show different
tools to help a web developer. I found this account very informational and educational since it
kept up with current events and things going on around us. As I followed this account during the
course of the semester, I found that he was not very active on the site. He wouldn’t tweet for
days at a time. However, when he did tweet, he would tweet a lot of things one after the other. It
is clear that he is not one to get on twitter constantly to update. This twitter was an informational
and educational account to follow.
@WISEinWV:
This twitter account is full of information! Its overall theme was also an educational one.
The account tweeted quite a bit throughout the course of the semester, as I followed it. It was
informational and always kept its followers updated on everything that is going on in West
Virginia. The good, the bad, everything! I like that it was up to date about things happening in
West Virginia, but it was also informational and up to date with general information and
concerns that anyone from anywhere could apply to. An example of how they were
informational, not only for West Virginia followers, but anyone, is the screen shot that I have
below. It is a screen shot of a tweet about getting educated on HIV. Obviously, HIV is a problem
everywhere and can be a concern of more than just people from West Virginia. I like that it
shares facts and opinions on everything and encourages its followers to get educated on things
going on around them! I hope that a lot of people follow this account just to be updated on
current events. I think it is especially good for the people of West Virginia since they are known
for their uneducated selves.
@Dwight_Carter:
This twitter account is all about motivation and I found it totally inspiring. The theme of
this twitter is getting, being, and staying motivated. He is a principal and I believe that he is very
focused on keeping his students motivated and interested in school. As an example of how he
does this, below is a screen shot that I have of a tweet of his. His motivation tweets were not
necessarily anything that made a huge impact on me, but they were just little friendly reminders
to not give up or to make it a good day. I think students need this reminder and I think it makes
him as a principal very respectable. He also posts about the students in his school, their
accomplishments, the school’s accomplishments, and what is going on in the school. He seems
very involved. He also seems to have a lot of school pride which I think is great! I think it is
good that he shows that he is and wants to be involved in his school’s accomplishments and
doings. I feel as though most principals are just too busy to deal with and interact with students,
but he does not make me feel that way at all. He really seems to care and want his students to be
their absolute best!
@klhellerman:
This twitter account was fairly boring to me. She wasn’t very active on her twitter and
she always seemed to tweet about the same thing. Her tweets were far and in between. She is a
teacher, but I do not see how she uses her twitter for educational purposes. I don’t think that this
twitter account had much of a theme either. She didn’t tweet a lot, but when she did, they
weren’t very informational tweets. However, her twitter contains a lot of pictures, which I think
is interesting! Her account shows people what she does and where she goes and the cools things
that she sees. Most of the time, her tweets and her pictures were a lot about Chicago. She also
always hashtagged “Chicago”. These pictures and tweets all about Chicago make me assume that
she is very proud of where she comes from, which is not a bad thing at all! An example of how
she posts pictures of really pretty views and places in Chicago is placed below.
@yelyaywilliams:
This twitter account was my personal choice and also my personal favorite to follow! I
followed her previously to this assignment so I was already very familiar with her account and
what she tweets. Hayley Williams is the lead singer to my favorite band. I have been obsessed
with her since I first found out about the band when I was in my early high school years. Her
twitter account’s theme is obviously musical, but also personal. She is always tweeting about her
music, her band, and random, fun things about her life, which I love! She also gives a lot of fan
shout outs too, which I think is really cool of her. I love that she shares information on the band
and their music because it helps me keep up to date with new music, tours, etc. I also love that
she tweets about her personal life because it shows people that she is a down to earth girl who
likes being goofy and having fun. She definitely does not let fame get to her head and I admire
her for this! An example of how she tweets personal, funny things is this screen shot I have
below. She just seems very funny and down to earth as I said and I love that about her.
