Software Engineer/Project Manager, Unisys Corporation (1998 to 2006)
•Initially employed to introduce Object Oriented/RAD development to the Glen Allen office. Staff mainly
consisted of Cobol/mainframe developers. Goal was to bring more Unisys Medicaid development that could
eventually embrace Client-Server or Web technologies.
•Software Engineer and Project Manager on Unisys HealthPAS©
system - a replacement for existing State
Cobol/Mainframe Medicaid systems. System is web-based; developed using VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, XML
and SQL Server and other bleeding edge technologies; first of its kind being implemented from State to
State; capable of handling terabytes of information. Was primarily involved in Business Logic Layer
development in the Provider, Recipient/Member and Reference modules. Extensive use of Rational
Enterprise Suite. Was chosen (along with 2 others) to do initial analysis of Qcsi’s Qmacs product which
would later be teamed with Unisys’ technologies to develop the HealthPAS product. Organized and
maintained the entire Qmacs inventory of Dll’s, changes, versioning and other components which were
utilized with HealthPAS; this was a massive undertaking as it was crucial to ensure that both Qcsi’s and
Unisys’ developers were in synch with each other’s updates as well as installation issues that would arise.
•Supervised and coordinated an Internet Simplified Access Front End (SAFE) for the State of Kentucky; it
allows the public to access Government agencies when in need of Social Services.
•Researched and implemented 3rd
party tools for Web retrieval of Mainframe (CICS) data for the States of
Kentucky and New Jersey; tool primarily used was ClientSoft’s ClientBuilder.
•Supervised and maintained various large-scale Visual Basic/C++/Web systems for the Health industry.
Systems include a KidCare system for the State of New Jersey as well as a Medical Drug Rebate System for
various states dealing with drug providers.
•Analysis and recommendations for converting several existing client/server applications into Internet/Web
capable systems accessible from any client location with Internet access. This is leading-edge technology
involving full multi-tier Web client/server technology. These systems are being developed for internal
Unisys corporate headquarters in Blue Bell, PA and will be used by the entire Unisys organization

•This package was created using MS Visual Basic, MS C++ and MS Access as a database and reporting
