Proposal adv project 2020
1. 1
Working Title:
Theuderic Abbey- combined my inspiration of Wycombe Abbey and medieval names, to link the
title to the film.
Audience:
My audience target is females aged from 16-25 working class and psychologically belong to the
belonger group because my product/s are produced in the UK but have a unique theme, which
would attract a small city/town. Also, my main piece that I have formed, is my film synopsis
because that sums up my film idea and allows my audience to see the connections between my
products and my film. Another reason as to why my synopsis is the main commodity of my media
materials is because it automatically draws in my targeted viewers, intriguing them to the point
where they want to read and see more. Additionally, my fabrications will appeal to my female
onlookers because of how mysterious and romance orientated my developments are and finally, I
have chosen this age group because they will understand my ideas and diligence to generate such
original and exclusive content.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the year, I have acquired many new skills and varied knowledge about the projects set
and how to handle coursework and schedules throughout COVID i.e., Lockdown. One skill that I
managed to focus on and improve, was drawing in pixels, to then turn it into a fully functioning
animation through Adobe Photoshop. Additionally, I learnt how to create a long-pixelated
background which moves automatically, through an average of 50 frames or more. On the other
hand, I came to know about all the free and available apps/websites which made it easier to
complete work and understanding of GarageBand, which enabled me to develop my own song for
my video game. Furthermore, I would say that the fact that I have been at college for two school
years, had an impact on my decisions for this Adventure project because I already knew some of
my strengths and weaknesses, which meant that I could confidently delegate my time to certain
areas, in order to get my best results.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my project is to portray an original film idea through a range of products. My film is
based around lies, dishonour, romance and sorcery, which is shown through a pixel videogame, a
magazine cover, a billboard and a bus stop poster, all linking back to my film and plans for each
piece. Furthermore, the research I need to conduct in order to succeed in this Adventure project is
an average of 7 different existing creations which explore the varied ways to advertise a movie or a
game. Additionally, I will analyse 3 posters which are advertising a film or a series and focus on
what aspects I find most intriguing, to then use a similar technique in my own work. Secondly, a
minimum of 4 currently popular games or games that are suited to my ideas, which will help me
grasp the right knowledge in order to attract my targeted audience. I also plan to form a
bibliography which makes it easier for both me and my peers to see where I found the existing
materials. Lastly, I will research about characters that already appear in films to see which one’s
link to my fictional characters and to understand what I should do/not do to make sure they are
innovative and copyright free.

Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
One of the main techniques that I need to focus on is sound because I plan to create my own
soundtrack for my videogame by using GarageBand. Even though I have had experience with the
software in the past, I need to refresh on my knowledge by seeing what I know and improve on my
weak areas. On the other hand, planning is a huge part of the actual production such as, defining
what kind of sound effects will be necessary in my game along with the colour schemes and
figuring out who you may need/want to act for a product, which is when a script comes in handy
because it allows me to establish the steps and where effects, transitions or text may need to go
within my media materials. Moreover, a specialist technique that I will be using (doesn’t have a
specific term) is to form a long pixel drawn background on Adobe Photoshop which can then be
placed in the window to insert an average of 50 frames in order for the background to move, which
means that it will automatically move in your animation.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work by placing my final pieces into the Adventure pro forma, so that I can
look back on my initial ideas, research, pre-production, production process (which will include a
variety of reflection forms) and then sum up the core aspects of each section into a small number
of slides, which will make it easier for my peers to evaluate my work. In addition to this, I also plan
to assess my own improvements and what I have learnt whilst working on this project and
identifying what expertise I want to take forward into the final media project.
