Salary: 85,000.00 USD Per Year
Hours per week: 50
Senior Manager - Manufactured Grocery
Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
In 1992 I became a Marketing Associate with what then was called Hallsmith-Sysco,
located in Norton, Massachusetts. In three short years, my business grew from zero to
more than $1 million dollars annually. Toward the end of my tenure, I was asked to train
my peers on the topics of FOCUS and HOW TO SELL VALUE ADDED PRODUCTS.
In 1996 I was promoted to Northeast Region Manager of Sysco Premium Oils, where I
managed the growth of the category at 13 Sysco companies in 15 US states and
Washington, D.C. My duties were to train and mentor Sysco sales personnel, personally
sell on the street and at numerous Sysco trade shows, analyze and create reports to
convince the Sysco companies' senior and middle management of the importance and
urgency of growing this very profitable segment of their business. Quickly, I became a
highly requested trainer / product presenter, at all 13 Sysco operations.
The use of these reports also allowed me to show senior management that increased sales

operating costs as well as the operating costs of their customers.
When promoted to Sysco's Corporate headquarters (Houston, Texas) in 1999, I started

Sales Representative
Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
During the first six years, my responsibilities were to receive all customer's orders, on
paper forms or via phone, from our sales force, accurately key the orders into our one and
only IBM computer, generate logistic information used to load trucks and route
deliveries. I also worked part time in the retail store, greeting customers, answering their
questions and filling small orders. Before going to the order processing work, I worked in
the warehouse, receiving deliveries and securing the facility at the end of normal business
hours. After training several folks to take over the order processing duties, I spent one
year as Credit Manager, collecting money, and most importantly, solving a financial
security gap.
My last three years were spent as a member of the Thomsen sales team, where I rapidly
rose to the top, being the first Thomsen sales representative to sell more than $20,000 in
one week. That was a big deal, back then. When Thomsen moved into frozen and
refrigerated foods, I was the first of the group of ten to sell at least one product in every
category, which took approximately one week.
