Empire magazine is a British film started in 1989
magazine that is also published in most of Europe and the
United States. It is a very well known and popular name
in film magazines. They are published by German based
publishing company Bauer Consumer Media. They review
both mainstream films and art films, however they
concentrate mainly on the former, this means they have
quite a wide readership that stretches out to many
different people who like varying genres of film. The
target audience for Empire is likely to be people who are
in a 16+ age range as they will be more mature and the
magazine tends to review and look at films that are based
in that age range.

Total Film Magazine is a UK based film magazine that offers
news about upcoming films and publishes reviews and articles
based on newly released products. It is published 13 times a
year, once a month plus a special during summer. They feature
interviews and spotlights withy actors and directors, each
issue does not go without a 6 page interview with a well
known director and a critique of their work. There is a mixed
amount of content in the magazine that is aimed at multiple
types of people, for example one section “agenda” is aimed at

to depend on what parts of it are seen by the average reader,
