3. Meaning of Learning Disability
• Learning disability is a neurological disorder
which causes difficulty in the various aspects
of learning.
• Learning disability is not due to deficiency of
intelligence.
• Learning Disability is not due primarily to
hearing, vision problems, socio-economic
factors, cultural or linguistic differences, lack
of motivation or ineffective teaching.

4. Definition
• It refers to a number of disorders which may
affect the acquisition, retention,
understanding or use of verbal or non-verbal
information. These disorders affect learning in
individuals who otherwise demonstrate at
least average abilities essential for thinking
and reasoning.

9. Dyspraxia
• Affects gross motor coordination and also
affect articulation and speech.
• DCD-Developmental Coordination Disorder
• Affected by disability may due to coordination
difficulties, find it difficult in participation and
functioning of everyday life skills in education,
work and employment.

10. • People with DCD also experience difficulties
with memory, perception and information
processing.
• DCD is often regarded as an umbrella term to
cover motor coordination difficulties.
• Dispraxia refers to those people who have
additional problems in planning, organizing
and carrying out movements in the right order
in everyday situations.
