11. EXPIRY DATE OF LPG. CYLINDER
HOW TO READ THE EXPIRY DATE OF A L.P.G CYLINDER>
THE METHOD IS AS FOLLOWS:-
SEE THE 3 VERTICAL PLATES AT THE TOP IN ANY ONE OF THESE YOU WILL FIND
A / x or B /x or C/x or D /x
where ‘x’ is the last 2-digit of a year.
WHAT DOES A,B,C,D MEAN?
A--- JANUARY TO MARCH
B---- APRIL TO JUNE
C---- JULY TO SEPTEMBER
D---- OCTOBER TO DECEMBER
New introduced:
•Like 06-23
•Means June 2023
12. EXPIRY DATE OF L.P.G. CYLINDER
SEE THE PICTURE HERE WE SEE AS: B-12
AS ‘B’ STANDS FOR APRIL TO JUNE
IT MEANS THE CYLINDER WILL EXPIRE ON 1st APRIL IN THE YEAR 2012.
IF WE SEE THAT D-09 IS WRITTEN
THEN IT MEANS THE CYLINDER IS EXPIRED ON
1st October of 2009.
THIS WAY WE CAN KNOW THE EXPIRY DATE OF A
L.P.G CYLINDER
13. Hazard & Risk:
Catch fire very easily.
Suffocation / asphyxiate at high concentrations
Run for long distances along the ground
and can collect in drains or basements.
Gas meets a source of ignition it can burn or
explode
Evaporating liquid can cause cold burns to the
skin or frostbite, as it evaporates at -42°C
Cylinders can explode if involved in a fire.
LPG (Propane) is considered non-toxic so LPG
gas leak effects are not an issue of toxicity.
14. LPG AREA BULK TANKER FILLING:
Check the condition of tanker before filling
The tanker should be made to stand at the filling point
with ignition cut off and key kept inside the cabin
The driver should be available near the truck
The wooden edge must be placed under the truck
Connect the earth connection to the body of the truck
Connect the hoses to the liquid and the vapour outlets of the truck
Open the outlet valve of the storage truck
Pressurize the tanker with compressor, (open valve no. 4, 7, 8 and close valve no, 5, 6, 8 of the
compressor at Emarat)
Start the compressor and load the truck till it is 85% full
Turn the compressor off, close all valves vent and remove the hoses.
Disconnect the earthing and release the truck

Then the question is why there are some tanks which have circular section.
In fact for vessels which contain pressurized liquids or gases like LPG or PNG,
the circular section is the most efficient section which gives maximum
strength against internal pressure.
