 Supervised a team to develop and maintain skills in infantry, new equipment and

 Presented briefs and authored operational plans, threat assessments, minutes, memos
and other documents for senior leaders to inform their decision making. Completed
team administration.
 Held additional responsibilities as Combat First Aider, Counselling Officer, Workplace
Assessor and Course manager.
Achievements:
 Higher Responsibilities – During training preparation fulfilled the roles of both role player
and team leader for all other role players. Worked with a large group of trainees to
provide detailed and realistic training scenarios at very short notice. Enjoyed the
challenge of the task and was recognised by senior staff for performing to a very high
standard, without supervision, and with an excellent attitude.
 Improving Workplace Efficiencies - Initiated a diary entry system for supervisors to assist
with the management of staff and assets. Pitched the idea to senior staff and was
integral in the roll out of this to other supervisors.

innovative idea for physical training that inspired and challenge staff. And improved

 Managed and coordinated exercises and physical training activities, completing risk
management planning and post activity reports.
 Held additional responsibilities as Building Fire Warden, Communications Officer, First Aid
Officer, and OH&S Officer.
Achievements:
 Higher responsibilities – Was working as Team Leader and was asked at short notice to
step up to the supervisor’s role for eight weeks. Demonstrated an ability to effortlessly
take on additional responsibilities and gain the trust and respect of colleagues of the
same level.
 Mentoring – Proactively ensured that all training was conducted to a high standard in
the absence of senior staff. Delivered a group of communications experts that were well
trained and able to perform a wide variety of tasks. Achieved this by ensuring that
trainees were focused on their tasks, and they worked in a positive environment.
 Leadership – Led the team through six large training activities during the year,
performing as a supervisor during two of the activities. Easily mitigated issues that arose
before and during the training activities and demonstrated a high level of productivity.
Was recognised by the senior manager as effectively managing the team whilst
allowing the manager to perform his duties without concern about staff below.

Position Role:
 Lead a group of trainees in all aspects of army training and procedures. Held additional
responsibilities as Building Fire Warden, First Aid Officer, Visit Liaison Officer, and
Administration officer.
Achievements:
 Promotion – On commencement of this role was promoted to a higher level. Exemplified
and maintained a high standard of discipline, dress and bearing for trainees and
monitored class standards. Rewarded with high level of performance of my supervised
recruits, reflecting on the level of training and perseverance provided.
 Time Management - Worked under significant pressure during initial training periods
where extended hour weeks were common to achieve course objectives. Always
completed training, lessons, briefing and exercises on time and within allocated
parameters. Ensured all recruits received equal training.
 Managing Conflict – Worked with several recruits who were not able to fulfil the
requirements of the role. Assisted them in their transition during this difficult time with
administration such as medical appointments and counselling. Met all the regulatory
requirements of the organisation and external contractors whilst showing compassion
and empathy for individuals.

Position Role:
 Worked in a close-knit team to hone skills related to artillery tasks. Assisted staff through
periods of boredom during inactivity, through to total exhaustion in periods of high
activity.
Achievements:
 Manage Stress - Ensured technical standards were kept at all times despite facing
numerous challenges. As a qualified Paratrooper, assisted the team to deal with
numerous physical and mentally difficult situations by sharing ways to manage stress and
fatigue.
 Volunteer Roles - After working-hours volunteered to work in the sections social dining
and recreational club and regularly participated in out of work activities. At all times
displayed high standards and was recognised as being a good mentor to junior staff.

Artillery Gunner, Department of Defence (Army), Sydney, NSW
Position Role:
 Worked as part of a combat team responsible for setting up, siting and firing weapons in
support of ground operations. Trained to set up weapons to fire a variety of ammunition
types in support of operations.
Achievements:
 Tenacity - Displayed both physical and mental toughness coupled with quick thinking
and accuracy to ensure that the team was always at the right spot, at the right time,
and on target.
 Communications – Due to the need to rely on information sent down from others,
displayed a strong ability to use a high degree of common sense, and translate
instructions into action. Was regularly required to work independently in order to meet
new situations as they arise.

Achievements:  Higher responsibilities – Was working as Team Leader and was asked at short notice to step up to the supervisor’s role for eight weeks. Demonstrated an ability to effortlessly take on additional responsibilities and gain the trust and respect of colleagues of the same level.  Mentoring – Proactively ensured that all training was conducted to a high standard in the absence of senior staff. Delivered a group of communications experts that were well trained and able to perform a wide variety of tasks. Achieved this by ensuring that trainees were focused on their tasks, and they worked in a positive environment.  Leadership – Led the team through six large training activities during the year, performing as a supervisor during two of the activities. Achievements:  Promotion – On commencement of this role was promoted to a higher level. Exemplified and maintained a high standard of discipline, dress and bearing for trainees and monitored class standards. Rewarded with high level of performance of my supervised recruits, reflecting on the level of training and perseverance provided.  Time Management - Worked under significant pressure during initial training periods where extended hour weeks were common to achieve course objectives. Always completed training, lessons, briefing and exercises on time and within allocated parameters.
