2. Definition: According to the textile institute, “Textile materials
and products manufactured primarily for their technical and
performance properties rather than their aesthetic and
decorative characteristics” are called Technical Textile.
Textile sector is divided into two parts
=Traditional textile
=Technical textiles.
traditional textile: The sector which produces clothing
for the common needs of the people. Such as shirts,
pants, blankets, Trouser, etc., that sector are called
traditional textile.
technical textile: technical textile is a product which
is manufactured for non-aesthetic purposes, where
function is the primary criterion.

3. Technical textiles can be divided into many categories,
depending on their end use

4. Agrotech: Agriculture, horticulture and forestry.
Such as net, crops protecting fabric etc.
