6. Dear Reader,
Wish you a very warm welcome.
Everyone in life wants to be successful in all the
ways they want. If we go for education we would
like to pass in all examinations while some would
wish to get first rank. When we start a business
we want to become successful taking huge profits
from whatever the investments we make. Dream
in your life: Whenever you’re free in a day try to
dream yourself how you want to live your
lifestyle after a period of about 5 – 10 years.
People who know what they want and have set a
course for achieving their goals are generally
happier than those that just let life happen to
them. This wisdom is not new. Earl Nightingale
once said, “Don't wait for something outside of
yourself to make you happy in the future.” Ralph
Waldo Emerson encouraged goal setting by
stating that, “Once you make a decision, the
universe conspires to make it happen.”

7. RIDDLES
How is this possible!
An old man wanted to leave all of his money to one of his three sons, but he didn't know
which one he should give it to. He gave each of them a few coins and told them to buy
something that would be able to fill their living room. The first man bought straw, but
there was not enough to fill the room. The second bought some sticks, but they still did not
fill the room. The third man bought two things that filled the room, so he obtained his
father's fortune. What were the two things that the man bought?
You can see me in water, but I never get
wet. What am I?
You see a boat filled with people. You
look again, but this time you don't see a
single person on the boat. Why? Hint:
The boat has not sunk

9. Massacre at Burma, Myanmar
The military crackdown in Myanmar's Rakhine
state could be leading to genocide, the United
Nations' top official on the subject says. More
than 140,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to
Bangladesh since August 25, bringing allegations
of mass killings and the systematic burning of
their villages by Myanmar security forces. The
violence was sparked when Rohingya insurgents
carried out coordinated attacks against police
posts, killing 12 officers. Retaliation from
soldiers, the paramilitary Border Guard Police
and Buddhist vigilantes has killed at least 370
people, according to the army's figure from
almost a week ago. But there are credible reports
of 130 people massacred in a single village,
including women and children. "When they are
being killed and forcibly transferred in a
widespread or systematic manner, this could
constitute ethnic cleansing and could amount to
crimes against humanity," Adama Dieng, the UN
special advisor for the prevention of genocide,
said. "In fact it can be the precursor to all the
egregious crimes — and I mean genocide. "We
are not yet there, we cannot say we are facing a
genocide, but it is time to take action." Myanmar,
where the majority of people are Buddhist, has
blocked access to the area, meaning the
Guardian cannot independently corroborate the
villagers’ accounts. The current wave of violence
is the worst so far, and rights groups have said it
could constitute a final campaign to rid
Myanmar of the Rohingya. Satellites have
recorded images of whole villages burnt to the
ground.
10. The suicide of 17-year-old medical student
Anitha after she failed to get admission since the
government failed to ensure that NEET (National
Eligibility and Entrance Test) was not
implemented has got the student community
holding large-scale protests and accusing the
state government and the Centre of driving her to
take the extreme step. Anitha, who hailed from
Ariyallur, a place 250 km from Chennai, had
committed suicide demoralised that her dream of
becoming a doctor would never be fulfilled. This
despite the fact that Anitha was a Plus-2 topper
and had managed to score 1176 marks out of
1200. While the state government had earlier
assured that NEET won't be included in the
placement and that it would ensure the unified
entrance system based on 12th score followed,
the AIADMK government at the last minute failed
to ensure this, thus denying Anitha a chance of
getting a medical seat. Kamal Haasan today
openly supported the demand for Tamil Nadu's
exemption from NEET, and advised youngsters
not to be complacent. "Don't rely on elders; you
are the elders of tomorrow. Just because you did
an agitation doesn’t think it's over, we need to
find a solution within next year," he said. He also
appeared to ask people to unite for a common
cause. "If you think freedom is just to breathe free
air, you are wrong as there is more to it, and if
you call this a freedom struggle, yes it is," he said.
But my suggestion is NEET exam will give us all
quality doctors with real interest and
involvement leading to development towards the
medical field.
11. Amazing facts about Sarahah
Sarahah is a brainchild of Saudi developer
ZainAlabdin Tawfiq. He introduced Sarahah
about six months ago as a website. However,
he later realised that Sarahah would do
wonders as an app.
Sarahah is Arabic term means 'honesty'. The
key idea behind designing the app is to allow
people send creative messages to each other.
It is on June 13 that Tawfiq rolled out the app
to for both Android and iOS users.
There's no way to directly reply to the
received messages via Sarahah.
There'll be no name, no information about the
sender of the message anywhere.
Sarahah is designed in a way that allows
users to send constructive messages.
Tawfiq believed that there was a need for
constructive feedback in his workplace and
that is when he thought of creating
something like Sarahah.
The application has raised concerns among
parents and teachers. A review that was
posted on Google Play reads, "My 13-year-old
sister uses this and she got a death threat
aimed at our 2-year-old brother." After such
incidents took place, many parents have
reported that the app and said that this is "the
newest platform for cyber bullying".
Sarahah is still in developing stage and comes
with a lot of security concerns.
Several people worry about their identity
being revealed.

21. Arikamedu, which means “eroding mud”, is
located at around seven kilometres from
Pondicherry. The city is located along the
beautiful Ariyankuppam river and is believed to
be the only city with an archaeological record of
Roman presence in India. Having started out as a
fishing village, Arikamedu soon became a unique
bead-making site as it manufactured beads made
of both stone and glass. Various textiles, breads,
terracotta artifacts and gold and semi precious
jewellery were exported to Greco Roman ports
and other countries in the East from Arikamedu.
Arikamedu’s glass bead making site was
considered as “mother of all bead centers” in the
world.
Wines in amphora jars, cups and plates of Terra
Sigillata (fine red Roman clay pots) and other
various ceramic products were imported by
Tamil while products like beads, terracotta
objects, glass, gems, plants, spices were exported.
Discovered in the 1930’s, the town was
excavated three times in the 1940’s. The
excavation credit of this place is often given to
Mortimer Wheeler in 1945 as he was the most
known archaeologist associated with it. Today
Arikamedu just consists of walls after being
damaged by the cyclone Thane in 2011. The only
structure still standing tall are the walls of The
French Mission house built in 18th
century.

I will not fear! When every human on this earth stands up against me; I will not fear!
When I’m thought of as useless and thrown into garbage; I will not fear!
When I’d have to beg for my everyday bread; I will not fear!
When I’ve lost everything that I desired; I will not fear…
