How To Stop High School From Stifling Creativity Analysis
Creativity is the base of human development. School s were first created to help their people to be
skillful and mentally capable to endure all problems. Times have changed and the morals of education
have altered as well. In today s world students from the U.S. are taught and pushed to memorize
information instead of being pushed to learn how to think critically through it. Professor s should
emphasize more on the importance of ingenuity, than the importance of getting a good grade. The
beginning stages of person s life is when one is at their highest potential for developing creativity.

through sixth the creativity scores have dropped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tristan de Frondeville, consultant for PBL associates, called the time that students spend dozing off in
class as dead time . Dead time starts from one student and tends to spread because other classmates
would get the impression that full participation is unnecessary. By not acting on the dead time ,
students reinforce the idea of memorization and cramming instead of understanding the information.
Eliminating dead time , expands the valuable time classes have, puts both the student and the teacher s
time to correct use, and helps students use each part of their brains to learn more skills. In the article,
How to Keep Kids Engaged in Class , there are said to be four different levels that categorized the four
different students. The first level is the highest level which make up the students who actively
participate in class, but as well as out of class, the second level are the responsible students, the third
level are the students who pass the class by doing the bare minimum, and the last level are the students
who do everything to not have to put in any effort into the class. Activities other than lectures or
straight memory drilling techniques will have the students from all levels engage in the class and even
put in more effort to do

Emily Dickinson Because I Could Not Stop For Death Essay
Death was very prevalent in the life of Emily Dickinson. It had all started with the death of her loved
ones and family friends that led her into a state of solitary where she had become very reclusive and
gave her time to write the large amount of poems she created. It has provided people who have had
something tragic or just in that state of mind to provide an outing as well as provide incredible
imagery to pass onto a reader. Emily Dickinson was a poet that has very impressive way of using
multiple themes in her poems that create incredible imagery. Each composition that Dickinson has
created has impressive utilization of themes like nature, love, and death to create a more picturesque
poem. Each poem had it own theme that came from past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The word kindly is particularly meaningful, for it instantly characterizes Death .... The third and fourth
lines explain the dramatic situation. Death has in the carriage another passenger, Immortality. Thus, in
four compact lines the poet has not only introduced the principal characters metaphorically, but she
has also characterized them in part .... helps to emphasize the importance of the presence of the second

Distracted Driving (Psas)
Each day in the United States, 8 people on average are killed in a distracted driving related accident
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Distracted driving can constitute anything from
talking on the phone to reaching for a fallen object while driving. One way people have been fighting
to combat the deadliness of distracted driving is through PSAs. PSAs are Public Service
Announcements, like commercials, that warn people of dangerous activities and heighten their
awareness of a problem. Even if people think no one pays attention to PSAs, if even one person saw
and understood a PSA, it would make a difference. PSAs are an important part of the prevention of
distracted driving because it heightens peoples awareness of the ... Show more content on

Around 90% of participants in a study on reception of PSAs understood the PSA eyes on the road
hands on the wheel to mean either stay alert or don t drive distracted (US Department of
Transportation, 2017). This implies that PSAs certainly get their message across when they are
viewed. On average, at least 70% of participants recognized a seat belt PSA, so PSAs stick in the
memory of those who view them (US Department of Transportation, 2017). According to the US
Department of Transportation (2017), around 60% participants agreed that it was often or always
necessary for dynamic PSA signs on roads. In addition, the majority of participants strongly agreed
that it was very important to provide information on putting away mobile phones while driving. This
shows that people are aware of the problem of distracted driving, and agree that awareness of this
problem in others is extremely important. Finally, the participants were asked if would change their
behavior if they saw a PSA that said eyes on the road, hands on the wheel , don t be a distracted driver
, or drive safely, text later it can wait . The overwhelming majority answered maybe, probably yes, or
definitely yes (US Department of Transportation, 2017). PSAs do make a huge difference in driving
behavior and give people a reminder of the consequences of distracted driving. The more immediate a
reminder, the more it will affect your behavior, so PSAs on signs are even more effective than those
viewed on television or in other advertising. PSAs are important parts of preventing dangerous
behavior like distracted

Social Media For Health, Fitness And Beauty Tips
Alana Putnam Rough Draft
Did you know that 68% of women in the United States use social media for health, fitness and beauty
tips (Cohen)? Many women of all ages are dealing with the pressure that social media can put on them
to have the perfect body. There are many different ways of dealing with this issue, that include
positive and negative outcomes when dealing with this problem (Reed). Also, just like every story
there is two different sides to this issue. Social media has been putting too much pressure on women to
have perfect bodies or that they have to be in perfect shape all of the time. The many women who use
social media for health purposes helps boost up the usage of different social media sites, but many bad
effects can come out of this pressure that is put on women. This became an issue very far back in the
past, Anorexia began in the 1870s but didn t become popular until 1960s and 1970s. Bulimia began in
the 1980s and was popularized as soon as it started. The idea of a perfect body has changed a lot over
time from very curvy, to very skinny and back again multiple times depending on where you are
(Reed). Using very thin models became very popular after World War 2 and people believed that this
was the new perfect body. In the 1990s more magazines began to promote plastic surgery on women
and people began to invest in it (Redar). Studies have also shown that once a woman develops an
eating disorder it is harder for her to get into a healthier

What Is The Role Of The Mauryan Empire Change In Central...
The rise of various empires was a result of massive political and cultural changes that happened
throughout central and south Asia. The major empires created due to the changed were the Mauryan
and Seleucia Empire. In addition to various empires being created in central and south Asia, Buddhism
influences many parts of the world and the Silk Road became a vital importance. Alexander paved the
way for one of the largest Empires in South Asia history, the Mauryan empire. (213) Before Alexander
and his forced came to South Asia, the region was comprised of multiple small warring states, until
321 BCE, when they failed. A man by the name of Chandragupta Mori took ideas from Alexander and
created a successful military and took the thrown of the Magadha kingdom. (213) Chandragupta and

Personal Statement For Drive Wild
Author Statement for Drive Wild
I created Drive Wild to advertise the 2016 Ford Focus Electric. I took into consideration lighting,
media type, audience, color, imagery, composition, and text in an attempt to promote potential
consumers to buy the vehicle. I also kept in mind the common theme of the environment that most
electric vehicle advertisements use to persuade the consumers while creating my advertisement.
I created Drive Wild with the use of Photoshop. I knew the program would help me achieve my
desired look because of the variety of functions it offers over Microsoft Word. I used Photoshop s
capabilities of photo manipulation to integrate multiple images to create my own single image in an
attempt to persuade viewers to invest in a Ford Focus Electric. Making the single images seem like
they belonged together within the composition proved to be challenging. However, it was necessary in
order to get the look I desired.
One of the toughest part about getting the look I desired, besides making it look like one image, was
the lighting. I knew without proper lighting to integrate the single images into a unified whole the
advertisement would look fake and cheap. I wanted to avoid the advertisement looking like this
because of the low quality advertisements suggest a low quality product. Cheap looking
advertisements reduce the Ethos, which I wanted to avoid. Advertisements are based on the visual
aspects and without visual interest the ad is less persuasive to the

1. Barriers to Entry Medium to High for the following reasons: a) Economies of scale the top three
carriers (Federal Express, UPS, and Airborne Express) serve slightly more than 85% of the domestic
express mail market. All three carriers deliver a high volume of packages, and thus, are able to spread
fixed costs over more units. Also, each carrier has integrated technological systems that improved
operational efficiency. In addition, intensive training programs of employees increase service and
delivery efficiency. b) Extremely large capital requirements are necessary to enter the market. Hub

However, such avenues of delivery limit the customer s presentation options (cannot bind business
reports / deliverables ). Also, the customer cannot transport a non paper package (e.g. a book, a desk)
via this delivery system. b) Regular mail only cost 32 cents for letters. The post office is also very
convenient. However, in regards to packages, the post office is very poor in quality service and
efficiency (cannot track packages efficiently and has an on time delivery record much worse than
commercial carriers) 3. Bargaining Power of Suppliers Medium for the following reasons: a) Postal
materials numerous suppliers of necessary postal and packaging materials. Switching costs are not
high. The postal materials suppliers have low bargaining power. b) Software programs combined with
extensive customized programming updates / additions. The software and software customization
industries both have numerous suppliers. However, given the complexity and uniqueness of such an
information network, there are probably only a limited number of software and customization
companies that can provide a carrier with a high quality system that is capable of smoothly integrating
all the operation and customer service divisions. Furthermore, the switching costs have the potential to
be extremely high because such a transfer could disrupt communication between the divisions, leading
to poor quality service. In addition, the company would

Fascism is a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power. It is usually emphasized
by aggressive nationalism and often racism. Two countries that adopted fascism were Germany and
Italy. Germany was under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, while Italy was under Benito Mussolini.
Fascism led both countries to have extreme nationalism and instilled a great sense of pride in both
countries. This great national pride can be seen during the initial years of World War II. Both countries
took aggressive actions in Europe and Africa because of their national pride.

At the beginning of the 19th century there was a turn from religious loyalty or loyalty given to a

the public sphere. It allowed for the institution of patriotic symbols such as national songs, literature,
and emblems. The French Revolution was the first to institute the idea of a nation state, in which the

The Blitz In Graham Greene s The Destructors
Sumi Sunny
ENG 274 OL
Dr. Marilyn Johnson
24 October 2017
Major Paper
Graham Greene wrote The Destructors which is about a group of boys who destroys Mr. Thomas s
house. The story takes place after WWII and explains that Germany demolished London. There are
two things that the story connects to the history of London; one is when Germany attacks London. The
attack was known as The Blitz and shows how much damage Germany has caused London. Another
connection is the movement of the Teddy Boys. The story took place after nine years when the war
ended, and the Teddy Boys movement began around the 1950s. They were known as rebels and had a
reputation for violence. Thus the society blamed the Teddy Boys for many of society s ill in the 1950s.
The history of the Blitz shows how the boys are affected and this is connected to them because they
tend to be rebels and what their response to the world around them. Graham Greene s The Destructors
explained that young people have no hope and promises and challenges the traditional expectations of
them, by showing them to be incapable of finding something practical in the world around them and
within themselves.
The Blitz began in England in September 1940; Germans required avoiding a long war. The Blitz, also
known as the Blitzkrieg is a German word for lightning. The British press applied this word because
of the frequent bomb raids that were carried out over Britain in 1940 1941. The intense bombing on

Elizabethan Era Characteristics
Three best characteristics of a leader There are many people that could be considered and have been
chosen as good leaders for certain traits such as respect, reliability, responsibility, trustworthiness, and
being really good at what they do and how they present their thoughts. Jensen Ackles, a director, actor,
singer, Queen Elizabeth I, queen, reliable person, Abraham Lincoln, president and a very trustworthy
person. These three people show many great leader traits, but they have only one trait per person that
defines them best. Abraham Lincoln, a very well known president of the United States with many
traits, one being responsibility. Abraham had introduced the emancipation proclamation that had freed
all the rebellious states slaves in 1863. Definition of responsibility being The state or fact of having a
duty to deal with something or having control over someone. Lincoln had lots of duties to deal with, it

Leonardo Da Vinci s Painting By Leonardo Da Vinci
The Last Supper fresco was painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1494. It stands 4.6 meters high, and 8.8
meters wide was made with tempera and oil. Da Vinci popularized a new method of painting frescoes
by letting the plaster and then painting it with oil and varnish. The mural depicts the famous image of
Jesus and his disciples at his last supper ( The Museums of Milan ). Da Vinci s painting surrounding
the persecution of Christians and many other artworks and sculptures are results of the artistic
revolution in Italy in the 1400 s.
The term renaissance is a French word that translates to rebirth. It represented a period of renewed
interest in the classical world that existed and the learning of Greco Roman methodologies. The
movement started in Italy and spread throughout Europe to Germany, Netherlands, Spain, and France.
Florence had struggles between the popes and Holy Roman Emperors. The revolution was kick started
by the death of Giangaleazzo Visconti of Milan. He controlled Northern and Central Italy and was
closing in on Florence. Without warning, he died, and his army was forced to retreat. The citizens of
Florence viewed the death as an act of God. To express their newfound pride and appreciation, they
garnished the city with new paintings, structures, and sculptures.
An important project was the building of the dome of the Cathedral of Florence. This project was
started by Arnolfo di Cambio, structured by Brunelleschi and Donatello, and completed by Francesco

Reflection For English Language Learners In The Classroom
In the 21st century, collaboration plays an important role in education. Educators are required to
collaborate with other teachers about future curriculum deadlines, test scores, and classroom
management concerns. Yet, teachers should also learn to rely on their own best judgment when
determining what is best for their classroom.
While collaborating with my fellow classmates, Sarah and Tina, we decided to select teaching objects
that would benefit 3rd grade student as they work through the five stages of the writing process. Sarah
introduced an editing games that challenges students knowedge of grammar and syntax needed during
the editing stage in the writing process. Tina brought a graphic organizer packet to the collaboration
meeting that is useful during the prewriting stage. Finally, I introduced a book called, Go Away Big
Green Monsters! as a prewriting activity.
During the collaboration meeting, Sarah introduced a colorful editing game that reinforces grammar
and syntax skills needed during the editing phase of the writing process. Sarah s game challenges the
players to find sentence errors made by Bad Grammar himself, and to select the right punctuation to
correct the sentence. In my classroom, I would use Sarah s game in a language or literacy center,
where students can practice writing and proper grammar by playing games. The game would also be
great tool for English Language Learners (ELL) and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) because it

High production with good returns: To grow high and good quality of crop produces, one should
practice organic production. It is seen that organic method can produce four times more crops per acre
than the production done by using chemicals and mechanized methods. The following factors are
responsible for high yield in organic method:
Use of humus compost
No compaction of soil is done by any tillage, trampling or machinery use.
Tillage should be non inverting, sometimes deep.
Use of raised bed for well drainage
Its better to grow plants in blocks, besides growing in rows
Mulches: Mulching is very advantageous while gardening. However, there are some disadvantages
like it may cause slugs with penetration of water. Potatoes can be grown by using hay mulch with
promising results. In summer, it is difficult to retain the water for the plant use, as hay results in water
run off. Sometimes long time watering may help, but it may cause fugal disease.
Some of the tools required for small scale gardening:
Wheel Hoe: It is used to cultivate the large areas. It is a tool with one stirrup hoe oscillation. There are
different sizes of oscillations and are available in market.
Gung Hoe: It is a sharp with light weight pull hoe. It is used to remove weeds quickly in large places.

Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification Essay
The Significance and Priority of Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification
ABSTRACT:There are various approaches to epistemology as well as to the philosophy of science.
The attempt to naturalize them is the newest approach. In the naturalistic framework, epistemology
turns out to be identical with the philosophy of science. The main characteristic of both naturalized
epistemology and naturalized philosophy of science is their methodological monism. Therefore, both
of these meta level areas of philosophy pursue only one scientific discipline to be a meta method for
themselves. There are objections to naturalism on the basis that (from a methodological point of view)
naturalized philosophy is monistic. I. The Concept of (Epistemic) ... Show more content on

Now, the justification component of the classical definition of knowledge takes place at the center of
recent epistemology. Consequently, various epistemic justification theories as contemporary theories
of factual knowledge have been produced with respect to some different classifications of these
theories e.g. internalist theories (foundationalist and coherentist theories), and externalist ones
(probabilist and reliabilist theories): While in the former ones justification of belief is internal, in the
latter ones, external to the believer s mind/mental life. That is, internal justification of the belief is
possible by reflection upon the believer s own conscious state of mind, i.e. upon her internal, doxastic
state. In short, the justifiability of her belief is determined by what beliefs she has, and her direct
cognitive access to the justification for her belief is required. On the other hand, in externalist
justification some important feature of the belief justification is outside the mind of the believer. The
externally justifiability of a belief may be a function of the reliability of a belief forming process,
which causes that belief to be a true one, or it may be a function of the probability of the belief. Such
factors as reliability, and probability, which play justificatory role, are external, i.e. non doxastic
factors to the believer. She does not have direct access to them, while her beliefs, as being her internal,

Reflection On Social Justice
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what
I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something
that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not
know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have
learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a
combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes.

There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real
world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings
go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is
looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their
education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely
to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making
enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not
choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People
look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the
word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem,
but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is
fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher
neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. Being an African
American in the lower socioeconomic class makes it easy for white people to look down on them.

Implementation Of A Pre Study Phase Essay
A Pre study phase (including estimations) where the project team clarifies requirements, identifies
risks, defines estimations (workload, costs), develops time schedule, identifies resources, performs
feasibility study and defines the validation strategy. When completed, an end of Pre study review is
held with all project stakeholders to commit on pre study results.
A Development phase (that may consist of different iterations and technical reviews) in which
technical solutions are defined, software coding is implemented, validation and verification activities
are performed, requirements are traced and project plans are monitored.
When completed, an end of development review is held with all project stakeholders to make sure that
the software meets customer/market requirements with the expected level of quality.
Then the software is delivered to customers and to the teams in charge of maintaining it, through an
Acceptance phase. In that phase, Customers will check that the software meets its requirements and
maintenance resources will make sure they have all items and skills to maintain the software. This
phase is ended by an end of Acceptance review to officially transfer the software.
Then, the software enters the Maintenance phase that may last for years, in which critical defects are
fixed, if any.
Those cycles are encapsulated in a general framework called Product Life Cycle (PLC) in which
senior management make decisions on products. PLC framework is divided into two

Analysis Of Ryan s The Flies
Similar to a circle, Ryan s face is rounded just enough for his Aunt to love it. Despite a chubby face
and fingers, his body is small. Fragile. In the six years of his life he has come to enjoy learning new
concepts. He understands that to draw a house he must start with a square base. A roof is nothing more
than a triangle on top. Add two squares for Windows and a rectangle for a door and Ryan has drawn a
squiggly lined house. Red. Yellow. Green. One plus two equals three. Ryan understands these
concepts, because they re easy to control. Understanding becomes hard when the shapes are replaced
by feelings, and the colors and numbers are replaced by people. Why is it hard to be understanding
towards one another? How come it is difficult to put myself into someone else s shoes and say they
had every right to mock me. Could it be because I am too simpleminded to understand? Or, is it
because I am too unwilling to let myself be carried away by someone else s life. If they refuse to
accept my world, then why should I try to understand theirs? It s that kind of thinking that keeps me
from truly enjoying life. When I fail to see the rough aspects in others lives, it not only makes them,
but also me, feel frustrated as well. I know how it feels to be unheard. I know how it feels to have
someone watch me talk, but ignore my words; like I wasn t there to begin with. Who am I if my peers

Charles Crick And James Watson On The Structure Of The...
In 1962, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Francis Crick and James Watson for formulating the
structure of the complex molecule known as DNA. These discoveries were a direct result of the
accumulation of many scientists earlier analyses and findings of the DNA. Before Watson and Crick
had developed the double helical structure of DNA, indication of this genetic material had been
revealed around the 1850 s. During the century following the first evidence of DNA, subsequent
researchers had been eagerly examining the physical and chemical components of this molecule.
Moreover, scientists such as Erwin Chargaff and Linus Pauling established a scientific foundation of
research for future experts like Watson and Crick to analyze and interpret. The history of science
acknowledges Watson and Crick s findings as an exclusive discovery of their studies. However, the
knowledge required to expose these innovative ideas are a culmination of human events in which
personalities and cultural traditions play major roles (Watson and Stent, 3). Watson s personal account
within The Double Helix introduces the significance of these scientific influences on his research and
discovery of the DNA molecular structure. Without major scientific figures, such as Max Perutz,
Rosalind Franklin, and Linus Pauling, the conceptualization of Watson and Crick s DNA structure
would not have successfully developed as it did in the 1950 s.

Cultural And Cultural Diversity In Hey Arnold
As a kid, watching television was one of my favorite things to do. It seemed as if when the TV was on,
the world stopped moving for an hour or two. There were many shows from my childhood that helped
shape me into the person I am today, but the one that stood out amongst the rest was Hey Arnold. The
hit 90 s show Hey Arnold enculturated children through illustrating social acceptance, self confidence,
and displaying resilience through hardships.
As a young child growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, Hey Arnold helped me become a more
culturally and socially accepting individual through the consistent exposure of different ethnicities and
family structures. For example, Arnold s grandparents housed two immigrants Mr. Hyunh from
Vietnam and Oskar Kokoshka from Czechoslovakia. These two men from two entirely different
cultural backgrounds were able to share a home, as well as guide Arnold through several issues he
faced growing up. Arnold showed a full capacity of love and acceptance for these men s diverse race
and backgrounds. Another example of the ethnic diversity in Hey Arnold is Arnold s friends. His best
friend Gerald, a young sporty African American boy, Phoebe a young Japanese American girl, and his
Jewish friend Harold are prime examples of the cultural and racial diversity the show displayed. None
of these characters were treated poorly or persecuted based on race or culture. In the episode Harold s

How Audiences Perceive Strong Female Characters,...
To test how audiences perceive strong female characters, Oppenheimer, Goodman, Adams‐Price,
Codling, and Coker (2003) ran a study where they had participants rate strong female characters on a
feminine to masculine scale, as well as attractiveness, sex appeal, relatability not a word, and humor
on a 7 point scale. The aim was to see how participants would respond to a female voice, if an
assertive actress would be characterized as masculine, and in general how female characters are
perceived by viewers. What they found was that women found the female characters to be slightly
stronger than men did, that the actresses were seen as slightly feminine do you mean they were found
to be slightly above the mean for femininity? Not sure what slightly feminine means, and that
attractiveness, sex appeal, and humor had no real impact on the perception of power. Also provide
more detail here were there weaker female characters that were also rated? Or those perceived as less
attractive? Knowing that women and men both consume and internalize representations and
stereotypes portrayed in media, it is important to then look at how women are being depicted and what
some causes behind this shift could be. Lauzen and Dozier (2005) investigated if popular films
continue to carry out the idea too vague use more precise language that men are powerful and
successful and women are submissive and not as successful by looking at an analysis of the top 88
domestic grossing films of 2002.

State Judicial Structures
Assessing the Impact of State Judicial Structures on Citizens Litigiousness by Jeff Yates, Holley
Tankersley, and Paul Brace describes the structure of the state judicial courts with its dependence on
certain internal and external principles that will influence the overall participation of individual s
litigation cases. The authors main question explores the role that state legal institutions played in
explaining state variation in legal mobilization. (Yates, Tankersley, Brace, 2010, 796) The authors
postulate this question because they believe that differences in the elemental structure of the judicial
system affect the degree to which citizens involve the legal system for redress. (796) The authors

When I usually think of the court, I usually think of it as a level headed branch that is unbiased and
can answer my question, my problems, and societal issues with any personal views. This view of mine
is broken with many facets influencing courts. Judicial selection and judicial professionalism are key
concepts that broke my previous views and towards a better understanding the current process to
litigations. I find it rather eye opening that if a judge were to run either as a partisan or a nonpartisan
judge that he or she will receive almost the same amount of attention on them. In the other statements,
I found myself reasonably agreeing with most of them. Elected judges similar to elected politicians
will try to hold their bastion of support by honoring their voter intention and vote subtly along partisan
lines as a form of certainty. In contrast, appointed judges bring more uncertainty and more chances of
change in society given their lack of an ideological background. Judicial professionalism as stated

The Australian Media Is An Available And Reliable...
The Australian media is generally considered to be an available and reliable information source for
Australian society. The media therefore has a strong influence over the information of social and
individual opinions. Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their home because of war,
natural disasters or persecution. The media represents this category of people using a narrow group of
information, presenting a particular skew of opinion, which is passed onto the individuals who place
trust in these sources. Through the media interpreting the typical Australian, generally not showing the
reality of immigrants it allows society to disregard refugees or asylum seekers as they do not fit this
ideal Australian. This ideology of the Australian has caused a history of social categorization and
discrimination, often based in a racial or religious difference between the British Australian settlers,
and a variety of groups, including: the Indigenous community, Chinese gold rush settlers, and
Mediterranean immigrants. Recently, these social categorizations have been strongly targeted toward
those seeking asylum on Australia s shores. The rapid evolution of technology and the media has
caused dramatic changes in the way that society, and the individuals within it have understood and
approached these issues.
The media in its news form is considered to be a highly trusted source of information. This gives them
a huge influence over Australia s views over certain topics.

Persuasive Essay On Home Alone
Most people never thought of what it would be like to have your wish come true, and at the same time
having to face the scariest thing as a kid all in just two days. One thing is true for a fact that we do
love our family greatly, yet we all have taken our anger out on our family also by saying some things
that we probably shouldn t have, causing our emotions to take over and have no control over what
happens next. Therefore, in a film as a kid Kevin McCallister (a 9 year old) decides to take all his
anger out on his family after being name called and teased. His mom then sends him to the attic where
he then tells her that he hates his family, but that he also wishes to never see them again. His wish did,
in fact, come true, he was left home alone on Christmas Eve while his family was on vacation. The
thing is he has to face two robbers in an event of the battle of good vs. evil just to save his house, nor
does he have anyone to look up too. But does he? Having no family there makes it even harder, and
Kevin soon realizes that maybe his family is what matters most. This film is called Home Alone, In

The Character Of Hector As A Tragic Hero
Hector is the heir to the house of Priam. As the prince of Troy he expresses extraordinary passion for
his nation through his position as the irrefutable commander. Hector is a tragic hero in this epic poem.
This is primarily portrayed through his tremendous sense of responsibility relevant to his station in
Trojan society. Hector has the willingness to fight and stand by Troy while having a healthy family.
You, Hector you are my father now, my noble mother, and brother too and you are my husband, young
and warm, and strong!
The men of Troy respect Hector. Seeing him fight pushes them to battle on in his honor. Hector is a
heroic character who fights with respect and passion. Not only does he represent a hero in the poem
but could also act as one in our society.
All this weighs on my mind too, dear women. But I would die of shame to fail the men of Troy and
the Trojan women trailing their long robes if I would shrink from battle now, a coward. Nor does the
spirit urge me on that way I ve learned it too well. To stand up bravely, always to fight in the front
ranks of the trojan soldiers, winning my father great glory, glory for myself. (p210)
This quote proves that Hector will do anything in his will to be an honorable man and brave hero to
the Trojan men and women, all the while knowing that his fate will end in death by Achilles. They
carried gallant Hector forth, weeping tears, and they placed his corpse aloft the pyre s crest, flung a
torch and set it all aflame.

One of the most obvious racial stereotypes, is the stereotype of oriental women from a western point

Drinking And Driving Case Study
1. Was This Presentation Valuable?
This presentation on the risks of driving while under the influence of cannabis was extremely
informative while also being engaging and interesting at the same time. In my opinion, the
presentation was particularly valuable because drugs have become a very prominent subject among
my age group, and not everyone is knowledgeable of all the risks associated with smoking. In health,
we learn about the effects of drugs and the risks of drinking alcohol and driving, however, we don t
really cover the topic of smoking and driving, which leads people to think there is nothing at risk. This
presentation informs us of the potentially deadly risks of driving while under the influence of cannabis
that many people are unaware of. As well, the information provided not only informs people who
do/might smoke in the future of what they may be putting at risk, but it also informs people of the risk
who then could prevent a friend of potentially making the poor decision of smoking and driving.

teens know the risks of smoking, they don t have concerns for increasing those risks by driving, which
would put many more people at risk of an accident. Another thing I found interesting is that almost 1
in 5 youths in vehicle accidents tested positive for cannabis. This shows how prominent the issue is in

Why Nhs ( National Health Service ) Organisations Need...
NHS has undergone many changes since its inception in 1948 and it has become a cliché to say that
only thing which is constant in the NHS is change. There are many drivers of these changes the
external and internal, the patient led, the policy led and also the changes driven by politics (Buchanan
et al, 2013) and finances (DOH, 2010). This essay will critically analyse models of change and how
they are relevant to my organisation (NHS). This essay will also critically evaluate human dimensions
of change and how they impact on success and implementation of organisational change.
Why NHS (National Health Service) Organisations Need Change?
Usually a need to change a service is identified, based on feed back from staff or patients, though there
are numerous examples in the NHS when the managers or ministers (Darzi, 2008, Francis 2013) were
forced to take decisions because of critical incidents or massive failure noted by an external review of
an NHS Trust (Francis, 2013, Berwick, 2013). Lord Darzi s (2008) NHS Next Stage Review described
a model of clinician led change leadership in the NHS (The King Fund, 2011), by doing so Lord Darzi
aspired to provide frontline staff with greater freedom to make positive changes to deliver best quality
of care.
In a multilayered and complex organisation like NHS usually big changes are driven by national level
policies or enquiries (Simon, 1979). For example Francis (2013) indicated that there were massive
failures of leadership and

A Short Note On Non Conformance Records ( Ncr ) Essay
The objective of my research is to obtain a general overview of non conformance records (NCR) that
are routed back for defects in the aerospace industry and how it has impacted the integrity of the
airplane. Non Conformances on an aircraft or any other product or service has had an impact on the
manufacturing process of a corporation. The documenting of defects has lessened the value of a
product or service and often leads to the customer choosing to walk away from a deal, forcing the
manufacturer to seek another buyer at a reduced rate. Over time organizations have invested a large
amount of time and money to track and manage non conformances by implementing processes and
procedures to assist in reducing or preventing the amount written.
Throughout the aerospace industry nonconformances defined is a product or service does not adhere

database or company internal program so that the information can be reviewed across multiple
departments, sites, or locations. This allows the information to be reviewed as a whole, or filtered by

lake and I had it all. I had over eighty acres to play on, five different playgrounds with different
equipment at every one of them, fishing, plenty of kids to play with during the summer time, a golf
cart that I learned how to drive, free soda pop and the promise of a five course breakfast every
weekend from some of our campers, I had a dad that I idolized, a mom who tried to teach me the
important lessons in life, a sister to drive crazy, and a brother whom I got to see once in a while. I had

home and sometimes a squirrel would skitter around me in a hurry to get home to his family. The wind
would blow through the trees and the sweet perfume would fill the air. Sometimes I would lay there

  • 2. How To Stop High School From Stifling Creativity Analysis Creativity is the base of human development. School s were first created to help their people to be skillful and mentally capable to endure all problems. Times have changed and the morals of education have altered as well. In today s world students from the U.S. are taught and pushed to memorize information instead of being pushed to learn how to think critically through it. Professor s should emphasize more on the importance of ingenuity, than the importance of getting a good grade. The beginning stages of person s life is when one is at their highest potential for developing creativity. Kyung Hee Kim, an educational psychologist, discovered that between the grades of kindergarten through sixth the creativity scores have dropped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tristan de Frondeville, consultant for PBL associates, called the time that students spend dozing off in class as dead time . Dead time starts from one student and tends to spread because other classmates would get the impression that full participation is unnecessary. By not acting on the dead time , students reinforce the idea of memorization and cramming instead of understanding the information. Eliminating dead time , expands the valuable time classes have, puts both the student and the teacher s time to correct use, and helps students use each part of their brains to learn more skills. In the article, How to Keep Kids Engaged in Class , there are said to be four different levels that categorized the four different students. The first level is the highest level which make up the students who actively participate in class, but as well as out of class, the second level are the responsible students, the third level are the students who pass the class by doing the bare minimum, and the last level are the students who do everything to not have to put in any effort into the class. Activities other than lectures or straight memory drilling techniques will have the students from all levels engage in the class and even put in more effort to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has provided people who have had something tragic or just in that state of mind to provide an outing as well as provide incredible imagery to pass onto a reader. • 4. Distracted Driving (Psas) Each day in the United States, 8 people on average are killed in a distracted driving related accident (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Distracted driving can constitute anything from talking on the phone to reaching for a fallen object while driving. One way people have been fighting to combat the deadliness of distracted driving is through PSAs. PSAs are Public Service Announcements, like commercials, that warn people of dangerous activities and heighten their awareness of a problem. Even if people think no one pays attention to PSAs, if even one person saw and understood a PSA, it would make a difference. PSAs are an important part of the prevention of distracted driving because it heightens peoples awareness of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Around 90% of participants in a study on reception of PSAs understood the PSA eyes on the road hands on the wheel to mean either stay alert or don t drive distracted (US Department of Transportation, 2017). This implies that PSAs certainly get their message across when they are viewed. On average, at least 70% of participants recognized a seat belt PSA, so PSAs stick in the memory of those who view them (US Department of Transportation, 2017). According to the US Department of Transportation (2017), around 60% participants agreed that it was often or always necessary for dynamic PSA signs on roads. In addition, the majority of participants strongly agreed that it was very important to provide information on putting away mobile phones while driving. This shows that people are aware of the problem of distracted driving, and agree that awareness of this problem in others is extremely important. Finally, the participants were asked if would change their behavior if they saw a PSA that said eyes on the road, hands on the wheel , don t be a distracted driver , or drive safely, text later it can wait . The overwhelming majority answered maybe, probably yes, or definitely yes (US Department of Transportation, 2017). PSAs do make a huge difference in driving behavior and give people a reminder of the consequences of distracted driving. • 5. Social Media For Health, Fitness And Beauty Tips Alana Putnam Rough Draft Did you know that 68% of women in the United States use social media for health, fitness and beauty tips (Cohen)? Many women of all ages are dealing with the pressure that social media can put on them to have the perfect body. There are many different ways of dealing with this issue, that include positive and negative outcomes when dealing with this problem (Reed). This became an issue very far back in the past, Anorexia began in the 1870s but didn t become popular until 1960s and 1970s. Bulimia began in the 1980s and was popularized as soon as it started. The idea of a perfect body has changed a lot over time from very curvy, to very skinny and back again multiple times depending on where you are (Reed). Using very thin models became very popular after World War 2 and people believed that this was the new perfect body. In the 1990s more magazines began to promote plastic surgery on women and people began to invest in it (Redar). Studies have also shown that once a woman develops an eating disorder it is harder for her to get into a healthier ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Personal Statement For Drive Wild Author Statement for Drive Wild I created Drive Wild to advertise the 2016 Ford Focus Electric. I took into consideration lighting, media type, audience, color, imagery, composition, and text in an attempt to promote potential consumers to buy the vehicle. I also kept in mind the common theme of the environment that most electric vehicle advertisements use to persuade the consumers while creating my advertisement. I created Drive Wild with the use of Photoshop. I knew the program would help me achieve my desired look because of the variety of functions it offers over Microsoft Word. I used Photoshop s capabilities of photo manipulation to integrate multiple images to create my own single image in an attempt to persuade viewers to invest in a Ford Focus Electric. Making the single images seem like they belonged together within the composition proved to be challenging. However, it was necessary in order to get the look I desired. One of the toughest part about getting the look I desired, besides making it look like one image, was the lighting. I knew without proper lighting to integrate the single images into a unified whole the advertisement would look fake and cheap. I wanted to avoid the advertisement looking like this because of the low quality advertisements suggest a low quality product. Cheap looking advertisements reduce the Ethos, which I wanted to avoid. Advertisements are based on the visual aspects and without visual interest the ad is less persuasive to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Blitz In Graham Greene s The Destructors Sumi Sunny ENG 274 OL Dr. Marilyn Johnson 24 October 2017 Major Paper Graham Greene wrote The Destructors which is about a group of boys who destroys Mr. Thomas s house. The story takes place after WWII and explains that Germany demolished London. There are two things that the story connects to the history of London; one is when Germany attacks London. Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification Essay The Significance and Priority of Evidential Basis in Epistemic Justification ABSTRACT:There are various approaches to epistemology as well as to the philosophy of science. The attempt to naturalize them is the newest approach. In the naturalistic framework, epistemology turns out to be identical with the philosophy of science. The main characteristic of both naturalized epistemology and naturalized philosophy of science is their methodological monism. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, the justification component of the classical definition of knowledge takes place at the center of recent epistemology. Consequently, various epistemic justification theories as contemporary theories of factual knowledge have been produced with respect to some different classifications of these theories e.g. internalist theories (foundationalist and coherentist theories), and externalist ones (probabilist and reliabilist theories): While in the former ones justification of belief is internal, in the latter ones, external to the believer s mind/mental life. That is, internal justification of the belief is possible by reflection upon the believer s own conscious state of mind, i.e. upon her internal, doxastic state. In short, the justifiability of her belief is determined by what beliefs she has, and her direct cognitive access to the justification for her belief is required. On the other hand, in externalist justification some important feature of the belief justification is outside the mind of the believer. The externally justifiability of a belief may be a function of the reliability of a belief forming process, which causes that belief to be a true one, or it may be a function of the probability of the belief. Such factors as reliability, and probability, which play justificatory role, are external, i.e. non doxastic factors to the believer. There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem, but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). In 1962, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Francis Crick and James Watson for formulating the structure of the complex molecule known as DNA. Before Watson and Crick had developed the double helical structure of DNA, indication of this genetic material had been revealed around the 1850 s. During the century following the first evidence of DNA, subsequent researchers had been eagerly examining the physical and chemical components of this molecule. Moreover, scientists such as Erwin Chargaff and Linus Pauling established a scientific foundation of research for future experts like Watson and Crick to analyze and interpret. The hit 90 s show Hey Arnold enculturated children through illustrating social acceptance, self confidence, and displaying resilience through hardships. As a young child growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, Hey Arnold helped me become a more culturally and socially accepting individual through the consistent exposure of different ethnicities and family structures. • 30. State Judicial Structures Assessing the Impact of State Judicial Structures on Citizens Litigiousness by Jeff Yates, Holley Tankersley, and Paul Brace describes the structure of the state judicial courts with its dependence on certain internal and external principles that will influence the overall participation of individual s litigation cases. The authors main question explores the role that state legal institutions played in explaining state variation in legal mobilization. (Yates, Tankersley, Brace, 2010, 796) The authors postulate this question because they believe that differences in the elemental structure of the judicial system affect the degree to which citizens involve the legal system for redress. Judicial selection and judicial professionalism are key concepts that broke my previous views and towards a better understanding the current process to litigations. I find it rather eye opening that if a judge were to run either as a partisan or a nonpartisan judge that he or she will receive almost the same amount of attention on them. In the other statements, I found myself reasonably agreeing with most of them. Elected judges similar to elected politicians will try to hold their bastion of support by honoring their voter intention and vote subtly along partisan lines as a form of certainty. In contrast, appointed judges bring more uncertainty and more chances of change in society given their lack of an ideological background. Different depictions can define how society views the mentally disabled and how these people are respected, in general. Positive Representation Positive representation is usually obvious and the mentally disabled character or characters could be easily identifiable when compared to others. However, this portrayal causes the character to be unique and teaches children on how to kindly interact with others with mental issues. The media therefore has a strong influence over the information of social and individual opinions. Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their home because of war, natural disasters or persecution. The media represents this category of people using a narrow group of information, presenting a particular skew of opinion, which is passed onto the individuals who place trust in these sources. Through the media interpreting the typical Australian, generally not showing the reality of immigrants it allows society to disregard refugees or asylum seekers as they do not fit this ideal Australian. This ideology of the Australian has caused a history of social categorization and discrimination, often based in a racial or religious difference between the British Australian settlers, and a variety of groups, including: the Indigenous community, Chinese gold rush settlers, and Mediterranean immigrants. Recently, these social categorizations have been strongly targeted toward those seeking asylum on Australia s shores. The rapid evolution of technology and the media has caused dramatic changes in the way that society, and the individuals within it have understood and approached these issues. The media in its news form is considered to be a highly trusted source of information. This gives them a huge influence over Australia s views over certain topics. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Persuasive Essay On Home Alone Most people never thought of what it would be like to have your wish come true, and at the same time having to face the scariest thing as a kid all in just two days. One thing is true for a fact that we do love our family greatly, yet we all have taken our anger out on our family also by saying some things that we probably shouldn t have, causing our emotions to take over and have no control over what happens next. Therefore, in a film as a kid Kevin McCallister (a 9 year old) decides to take all his anger out on his family after being name called and teased. His mom then sends him to the attic where he then tells her that he hates his family, but that he also wishes to never see them again. His wish did, in fact, come true, he was left home alone on Christmas Eve while his family was on vacation. The thing is he has to face two robbers in an event of the battle of good vs. evil just to save his house, nor does he have anyone to look up too. But does he? Having no family there makes it even harder, and Kevin soon realizes that maybe his family is what matters most. This film is called Home Alone, In the film Home Alone, the storyteller uses the archetype the hero s regrets and the mentor s advice to illustrate that we as humans tend to say rude and hurtful things towards the people we love the most when we are angry because we don t appreciate what we have until we lose it, and we don t realize how thankful we are for our family until something happens where we need ... • 37. The Character Of Hector As A Tragic Hero Hector is the heir to the house of Priam. As the prince of Troy he expresses extraordinary passion for his nation through his position as the irrefutable commander. Hector is a tragic hero in this epic poem. This is primarily portrayed through his tremendous sense of responsibility relevant to his station in Trojan society. Hector has the willingness to fight and stand by Troy while having a healthy family. You, Hector you are my father now, my noble mother, and brother too and you are my husband, young and warm, and strong! The men of Troy respect Hector. Seeing him fight pushes them to battle on in his honor. Hector is a heroic character who fights with respect and passion. Not only does he represent a hero in the poem but could also act as one in our society. All this weighs on my mind too, dear women. But I would die of shame to fail the men of Troy and the Trojan women trailing their long robes if I would shrink from battle now, a coward. Nor does the spirit urge me on that way I ve learned it too well. To stand up bravely, always to fight in the front ranks of the trojan soldiers, winning my father great glory, glory for myself. (p210) This quote proves that Hector will do anything in his will to be an honorable man and brave hero to the Trojan men and women, all the while knowing that his fate will end in death by Achilles. They carried gallant Hector forth, weeping tears, and they placed his corpse aloft the pyre s crest, flung a torch and set it all aflame. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This presentation on the risks of driving while under the influence of cannabis was extremely informative while also being engaging and interesting at the same time. In my opinion, the presentation was particularly valuable because drugs have become a very prominent subject among my age group, and not everyone is knowledgeable of all the risks associated with smoking. In health, we learn about the effects of drugs and the risks of drinking alcohol and driving, however, we don t really cover the topic of smoking and driving, which leads people to think there is nothing at risk. This presentation informs us of the potentially deadly risks of driving while under the influence of cannabis that many people are unaware of. As well, the information provided not only informs people who do/might smoke in the future of what they may be putting at risk, but it also informs people of the risk who then could prevent a friend of potentially making the poor decision of smoking and driving. 2. This shows how prominent the issue is in our society, especially in youth, and proves that more promotion of the risks should be done, such as this type of presentation, in order to control the ... NHS has undergone many changes since its inception in 1948 and it has become a cliché to say that only thing which is constant in the NHS is change. There are many drivers of these changes the external and internal, the patient led, the policy led and also the changes driven by politics (Buchanan et al, 2013) and finances (DOH, 2010). This essay will critically analyse models of change and how they are relevant to my organisation (NHS). This essay will also critically evaluate human dimensions of change and how they impact on success and implementation of organisational change. Why NHS (National Health Service) Organisations Need Change? Usually a need to change a service is identified, based on feed back from staff or patients, though there are numerous examples in the NHS when the managers or ministers (Darzi, 2008, Francis 2013) were forced to take decisions because of critical incidents or massive failure noted by an external review of an NHS Trust (Francis, 2013, Berwick, 2013). Lord Darzi s (2008) NHS Next Stage Review described a model of clinician led change leadership in the NHS (The King Fund, 2011), by doing so Lord Darzi aspired to provide frontline staff with greater freedom to make positive changes to deliver best quality of care. In a multilayered and complex organisation like NHS usually big changes are driven by national level policies or enquiries (Simon, 1979). For example Francis (2013) indicated that there were massive failures of leadership and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Short Note On Non Conformance Records ( Ncr ) Essay The objective of my research is to obtain a general overview of non conformance records (NCR) that are routed back for defects in the aerospace industry and how it has impacted the integrity of the airplane. Non Conformances on an aircraft or any other product or service has had an impact on the manufacturing process of a corporation. The documenting of defects has lessened the value of a product or service and often leads to the customer choosing to walk away from a deal, forcing the manufacturer to seek another buyer at a reduced rate.
