8. Dear Reader,
Wish you a very warm welcome.
Let me tell you short story. Once there was a
disobedient child. One day his father told him, “If
you earn Rs. 5 a day, I will allow you to have
dinner at home, else no food for you”.
So next day he went to his uncle and said, “Please
give me Rs. 5 else my dad won’t give me food.”
Likewise every day he went to some or the other
relative of his, and collected Rs. 5 every day.
One fine day all of them refused to give him Rs. 5,
and so he had managed to work hard to earn Rs.
5 all himself and brought home. Everyday his
father had asked him to throw that Rs. 5 which
he collected in a well. That day when he earned
himself, it was very painful for him to throw
away that Rs. 5 because he had worked hard to
earn it.
This is truth… We always prioritize safety and
worth for our goods rather being careless for the
things and goods of others. We must not be
selfish all the time because
“Being selfish is not bad. It’s bad if you never
consider how others feel at all”…
Thank you and good luck for your success…

12. Solve if you are a genius!
How?
Two fathers and their two sons go fishing together. They each catch
one fish to take home with them. They do not lose any fish, and yet
when they arrive at home they only have three fish. How can this be?
I'm so fast you can't see me, though
everyone else can see straight
through me. I don't stop until the day
you die. What am I?
What goes through a door but never
goes in and never comes out?
Which vehicle is spelled the same
forwards and backwards?
I turn around once. What is out will
not get in. I turn around again. What
is in will not get out. What am I?
We hurt without moving. And poison
without touching. We bear truth and
lies, but are not judged by size. What
are we?

18. Lal Bagh
Lalbagh is a popular botanical garden situated
in Bangalore (Bengaluru). This garden is a
home to a variety of flora and fauna. There are
many different kinds of bird species found here
like Myna, Common Egret, Parakeets, and Pond
Heron etc. Lalbagh Botanical Garden also has a
glass house, an aquarium and a lake that adds
to the already existing beauty of the garden.
There are two annual flower shows celebrated
in the glass house. The largest collection of
tropical plants in India is at Lalbagh. This
garden has also promoted and cultivated the
concept of horticulture and is under the
protection of Directorate of Horticulture. It is
spread over 240 acres.
It is one of the major tourist attractions
in Bangalore. During the reign of Hyder Ali in
1760, the construction of this garden started
but was later on completed on the orders of his
son, Tipu Sultan. During that time Mughal
gardens were capturing great popularity due to
which Hyder Ali wanted to cultivate this
exquisite botanical garden. The garden gained
more importance when his son Tipu Sultan
added the concept of horticulture in the garden.
Many different species of plants were imported
from different countries making this garden the
apple of everyone’s eye. The garden is built
similar to the design used in Mughal gardens.
19. Lotus Lake
There is a lotus lake inside the garden
apart from the huge Lalbagh Lake
The rock is one of
the oldest existing
rocks in the world.
There is a small
monument
constructed on this
rock that has won
the recognition of

20. Bangalore Palace was the private residence of the
Wodeyars, erstwhile maharajas of the state of
Bangalore. The palace is now owned by the
Mysore royal family. Bangalore Palace was built
in 1862 at the exorbitant cost of one million
rupees. The palace is believed to be designed to
resemble Windsor Castle; however this is not
true. A big part of the palace has been converted
into galleries featuring hunting trophies, family
photos and a collection of Indian and
international paintings. The palace grounds are
now Bangalore’s hottest concert arenas, having
hosted rock ‘n’ roll biggies such as Iron Maiden,
the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Deep Purple
Built at the exorbitant cost of one million rupees,
the grand, Tudor-style Bangalore Palace
(Bengaluru Palace) was believed to be modeled
on Windsor Castle, complete with fortified
towers and turreted parapets. The palace was
built by Rev. Garrett, who was the first Principal
of the Central High School in Bangalore, now
known as Central College. The construction of
the palace was started in 1862 and completed in
1944. In 1884, it was bought by the then
Maharaja of Mysore Chamaraja Wodeyar. Now
owned by the Mysore royal family, the palace
has recently undergone a renovation. It is
mistakenly believed to be a replica of the
Windsor Castle in England; the audio tour of the
palace clearly states that there is no resemblance
between the Bangalore Palace and Windsor
Castle.

21. Vidhana Soudha, the historic building
constructed in Mysore Neo-Dravidian
architectural style, currently houses the
Karnataka state Government Legislative
Chambers. The foundation for the construction
of Vidhana Soudha was laid on the 13th of July,
1951 by the then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal
Nehru. But, its design and construction are
credited to Kengal Hanumanthaiah (Karnataka
Chief Minister between 1952 and 1956) who
travelled to places like United States, Europe and
Russia to incorporate the designs of various
famous buildings and constructions to conceive a
unique plan for the Vidhana Soudha.
The construction of the marvelous building
completed in 1956. The 46 m high granite and
porphyry building adorned with an ornate dome
on each corner has a Four-headed Lion
sculpture, the national symbol of the country,
embellishing the main entrance. Vidhan Soudha
has three hundred rooms housing around 22
departments of the Karnataka Government. The
elaborately carved sandalwood door in the
Cabinet room is one of the principal attractions
of the building.
