3. INTRODUCTION
There is an increasing concern about air pollution level both indoor and outdoor, Air
pollution has crossed all boundaries in 2021, WHO estimated that around 7 million
people die annually as result of air pollution. It also mean the air you breath in your
house is polluted.
Air purifier contain 3layer filter with a centrifugal fan which suck the air & air passes
through the filters.
these filters trap pollutant & clear air back into the rooms .Air purifiers are the method
that people use to purify the indoor air in polluted Location
A device called an air purifier or air cleaner eliminates impurities from the air a in space
to enhance indoor air quality.
4. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM
Air purifiers can refresh stale air, reducing the chances of health issues caused by indoor
pollutants, which can trigger respiratory infections, neurological problems, or aggravate
symptoms in asthma sufferers. Quality air purifiers eliminate several types of indoor air
pollutants, keeping us healthy.

To Design and develop a Room Air Purifier for people in areas with poor air quality with a focus on
aspects like functionality, user experience, and sustainability.
To design air purifiers that are attractive for users and that improve the air quality and control the
humidity of room.

9. DESIGN AND FABRICATION
An air purifier mainly consists of following parts .
ANTIBACTERIAL FILTER-Efficiently remove bacteria, viruses and molds in the air.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER-Absorbs and collects dust ,pet hair, allergens , smoke , fumes and
harmful gases.
HEPA FILTER-Capture 99.97% of airborne contaminants like dust , bacteria, fungi, viruses and
allergens.
CENTRIFUGAL FAN-A centrifugal fan consists of a small BLDC motor with ,metal fan blades. The fan
is usually attached to the case with steel screw.
SUN BOARDS- Sun boards are a very strong , light and easily cut sheet material .it is usually has three
layers, an inner layer of polystyrene foam and a white clay coated paper on the outside.
11. FILTERS USED
Several different process of varying effectiveness can be used to purify air. The most important
component of an air purifier are its air filters. Most air filters and air cleaner contains at least one air
filter. Some used multiple air filters working together to produce the best result . The easiest way to
find the right air purifier for you is by looking for air purifier that have specific types of filters . Hence
some types of filter used in this purifier are given below.
PRE FILTER
As pre filter captured the largest particles before they reach the more expensive HEPA filters. Here
as pre filter we can use the mixture of Orange peel powder , Neem leaf powder etc which remove
most of large particles like dandur and dust ,not tiny once like pollen and microbes.
12. ACTIVATED CHARCOAL
It increase the efficiency of the filtering system . this elements work to absorbs smoke gases
chemical and odors that are present in the air. Activated carbon neutralize odors and trap harmful
chemicals and gases in its pores to provide relief from activities like secondhand smoke , off
gashing , harmful fumes produced from renovation.
HEPA FILTER
The HEPA filters a very fine fiber like material that has been folded back and forth to create a
shape of accordion . This accordion creates a maze of randomly arranged fiber and create a very
large surface for air to be pushed through by the air purifier fan . HEPA filter must have meet a
standard of trapping at least 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns.
13. ADHESIVE TAPES-Adhesive tapes of a combination of material and a adhesive film and
used to bond or join objects together instead of using fasteners , screw , or welding.
SUPER GLUE-Super glue is a general name for a family of fast acting adhesive with
industrial ,medical and household uses
CALCIUM CLORIDE-.It is used as absorber, and absorb moisture from the air effectively
and controls humidity.
