3. What do we mean by “hunger”?
● Momentary Hunger vs Chronic Hunger
● Do you think people you know go through momentary hunger or chronic
hunger the most?
● Do we eat for reasons beyond nutrition?

4. Who are the hungry?
There are 805 million hungry people in the world and 98% of them live in
developing countries. (FAO 2014)

● You will each receive a bag with some candy inside.

9. Activity time!
This exercise approximates the distribution of wealth and food in our society.
● How did you guys feel when you realized that the snacks had been
distributed unfairly?
● How does the large gap between rich and poor in our society contribute to
malnutrition and hunger for many people? Is there a way to resolve this
issue?
