2. Genocide and Ethnocide
According to a UN (ONU) resolution from 1946, Genocide is defined as
“the refusal to the right of existence of entire human groups"
And Ethnocide, by Pierre Clastres in “Arqueologia da violência” (1980, p.81) as
“the systematic destruction of the way of living and thinking of
people different from the ones that make this destruction"
➢ Do you know any example of these social phenomena?

11. Quilombos
● Quilombo, in colonial Brazil, a community organized by fugitive slaves.
● Quilombos were located in areas of difficult access and usually sheltered little
more than 100 people.
● The largest and most famous was Palmares, which grew into an autonomous
republic and by the 1690s had 20,000 inhabitants.
● “Nowadays, the Brazilian government defines it as "any rural community that
groups slaves descendents, living of self-sufficient farming and with strong
bonds with its past" and grants some benefits for their members.”
12. No rio e no mar (2016)
realização, a Anistia Internacional.
