2. Gender
The second question on my
survey was What is your
Gender? The results
showed that out of the 25
responses 11 were female
and 14 were male. This will
help me as it shows me that
the target audience for my
video will be both males
and females as the numbers
are quite similar.
3. Genre
My third question asked what
the audiences favourite genre of
music is. The favourite answer
for this question was ‘Rock’.
This result shows that I am
promoting country music to a
niche audience for that genre.
The people that I surveyed
don’t typically listen to country
music.
4. Music Video Style
This question asked the audience
whether they prefer a music video to be
a Performance, Concept, Narrative or
Cross-Over. The one that people
preferred the most was narrative and
second was a cross-over video. This has
helped me in the production of my
video as it shows me that I should
create a Narrative to make the target
audience happy. However if this is
possible my second choice should be
cross-over video.
5. Location
The next question asked people
what their ideal setting for a
music video would be and I gave
five of the most used settings to
choose from. The answer with
the most results was City or town
Centre which is a good response
for me as I am planning to set my
video in Stalbridge town centre.,
6. Lyrics
I used this question to discover
whether my target audience wanted
the video to have a relation to the
lyrics of the songs. Most people
said they Agree with the statement.
Therefore I will need to make my
video have a connection with the
lyrics. However, I don’t want to
make it too literal where the video
follows every word as I think this
would look unprofessional.
7. Audiences Other Media Interests
For this question I asked the audience
what other types of media they use. I
did this to find out their psychographic
information. The most popular answer
was TV Programmes but I had a lot of
votes for all of the answers. This helps
me as it shows me that my target
audience like to use multiple media
types simultaneously. Therefore my
music video will have to be interesting
for them to keep them hooked or they
may just look away at something else.
8. Hudson Taylor Yes or No?
The final question on my
survey asked the audience
whether the have heard of the
band Hudson Taylor. 64% of
the responses said No which
means that I will be
promoting the band to a lot of
people from my target
audience as they have never
heard their music before so I
will need to make a good
impression for them.
