HR Business Partner
1. HR Business Partner, Sub-Saharan Africa and L&D Lead, AIME
Location: This position will be based in Johannesburg (Preferred) or Durban, South Africa.

Position Purpose:
Provide advice, guidance, direction, and consultative services to Sub-Saharan Leadership team and
functional leaders on people related subjects. Provide inputs to the business strategy and
organisation design from a people management and efficient job/structure design perspective. Help
to shape the nature of delivery of HR services and COE’s to the business based on a deep
understanding of the business environment strategy and people implications. Draw upon other parts
of HR and functions to bring the right mix of services to the business they support. Drive the
strategic L&D agenda for SSA and provide guidance to MENA & India in close cooperation with the
Brambles L&D Centre of Expertise.
Responsibilities include:
Ensures proactive utilization of key people processes and initiatives by Business Leaders
e.g. workforce planning, talent acquisition, career and succession planning to deliver the
right capability for CHEP
Focus on the Talent for the Business by supporting the TMR / Succession Planning and
Talent Acquisition processes in SSA to ensure we attract, retain and develop key diverse
talent
Is personally involved in the recruitment process of the strategic key talents for SSA
Provides people related inputs to Country/BU/function strategy development,
organization design and execution while interpreting metrics, trends to anticipate future
workforce needs and polices
Provides proactive support, advice on all people related subjects, in conjunction with
COE and HR Services, and identify opportunities to drive HR efficiencies in partnership
with HR Shared Services
Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implement changes necessary to cover business
risks from a people and HR perspective, partners with COE's to develop interventions
aimed at enhancing business performance leads and directs the implementation of
business change with COE support and HR Shared Services
Communicating and implements BRAMBLES- wide initiatives and programs; interprets
and assist global solutions for local business
Acts as a single point of the contact for the Leadership team in the Business Unit (BU) of
responsibility
Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in people
management of the BU; stimulate climate through coaching the right leadership
behavior and highlight the relevant topics: Zero Harm, Diversity & Inclusion; driving the
discussion on Engagement and Enablement
Proactively seeks feedback from business leaders on the quality of HR Service delivery
Drives the BBBEE and Employment Equity agenda for SSA through keeping the
leadership team focused on the key KPI’s and actions
Analyses the future business requirements, identifies the capability gaps, and builds
comprehensive L&D agenda for the region in cooperation with the L&D and Talent CoEs
2. Acts as an internal coach to the leaders and a mentor for future wave leaders and high-
potentials
Qualifications:
Degree in related field or equivalent education
At least 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources Management of a
multinational company with operational / strategic experience in HRM, Organisational
Development and L&D
Proven HR Business Partner, who supported a global / regional business
Experience in handling change management projects (incl. organizational development and
restructuring)
International working experience
Experience:
A strategic thinker and well-rounded human resources manager with a minimum of 5-
8 years of human resources experience, gained, in part at a large well respected
organization known for its disciplined business performance and engaged, value-
added human resources function
The successful candidate will be a seasoned manager able to constructively challenge
and coach the senior business leaders
A proven ability to operate in matrix organisation and collaborate with diverse
business and functional line leaders in a rapidly changing environment where
analytical skills and agility are equally as important.
A results-driven and service oriented manager who can achieve results through
indirect influencing various teams and managers within the HR function
Experience in handling change management projects (incl. organizational development and
restructuring)
Experience in Automotive, Supply Chain, Logistics industry is ideal
