BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Mamasapano National High School is located in Barangay Manongkaling known as
the capital of Mamasapano municipality with an approximate land area of 19, 700 square
meters that serves as learning ground for 883 students. The school site was donated by
the Ampatuan clan 20 years ago. The school is bounded by a marshy area in the northern
portion, municipal hall complex and Datu Tahir Ampatuan Central Elementary School
(DTACES) in the western part, residential on both the southern and eastern part.
The school is near and adjacent to the municipal hall of the municipality and public
elementary school which is the Datu Tahir Ampatuan Central Elementary School
(DTACES). Even though it is in the heart of the municipality, still the residents rely on
farming as its main occupation.
The barangay wherein the school is located is never visited by typhoon, however, it is
sad to say that the majority of the sitio’s of this barangay is frequently visited by floods caused
by the overflow of Ala River that tremendously damages agricultural and livestock products.
There are nine (9) buildings consisting (12) classrooms, one (1), library, one (1)TLE room,
two (2) computer room and one (1)Science Laboratory, ICT Simulation room and TVL simulation
room. All classrooms were safe from flooding during rainy season.
Health education is integrated by teachers in the curriculum combined with the health
education made by the school nurse to ensure healthy lifestyle of our students. Health education
focuses on proper hygiene and sanitation such as proper waste disposal, hand washing, and
tooth brushing activity. Students were also dewormed twice a year and were given vaccine shots
depending on the availability of medicine and assistance of the Rural Health Unit (RHU).
Even the school is located at the poblacion, speeding vehicles and armed-conflict are
considered human induced hazards including petty crime that includes theft. Even though there
has been no incidence of dengue case, it is still a health threat to the school community.
The school is headed by Zainudin U. Dalgan a Secondary School Principal-1, together
with twenty one (21) permanent teachers and three local paid teaching Junior and Senior High
School, eightteen (18) were female and six (6) were male. Teachers and their administrators
were continuously attending trainings and graduate studies to give quality education to their
students.

INTRODUCTION
Over the years, the Brigada Eskwela (BE) effort has evolved from a week-long cleaning-
up and beautification exercise to a festive coming together of students, teachers, school officials,
parents, community members, local government officials, non-government organizations,
church groups and the private sector.
With the theme Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral, this BE, which will run until
August 26, highlights the Mamasapano National High School collective efforts from various
partnership engagements, creating a safe learning environment for the learners, teaching and
non-teaching personnel, and community to achieve safety while ensuring the delivery of quality
education.
It is a full-blown program focusing to deliver access to education and quality of education.
Comprising the physical aspect of 2022 BE is Brigada Eskwela sa Paghahanda, which is a
couple of weeks’ school maintenance and minor to medium repair for the re-opening of in-person
classes.
For the education quality facet, BE complemented through Brigada Eskwela Plus that
seeks to increase learner participation and reduce dropouts, and improve education quality in
participating schools to increase student performance. Furthermore, Brigada Pagbasa is an
after school reading remediation program in response to Project M.E.R.I.A.M (Maguindanao 1
Enriched Reading Intervention and Approches for Mastery and excellence) in support to Bawat
Bata sa Bangsamoro Bumabasa at Bumibilang (5Bs Initiatives).
As preparations are ahead of the August 22 school opening, DepEd assures to conduct
BE activities and initiatives that will safely open classes, and gradually reintroduce the shift from
a blended learning setup to 5 days of in-person classes, especially with challenges continually
posed by the COVID-19 pandemic along with inevitable natural disasters.
