LEARNING CONTINUITY

Introduction
The sudden closure of schools in the previous school year due to Covid-19
pandemic challenged education leaders to think strategies that would fit to the need of time.
It lead to change in learning modality from face to face to remote learning which needs a lot
of preparations and adjustments. Some of these are provision of learning resources for
remote learning, materials for health and safety of personnel and stakeholders who regularly
visit the school, provision of instructional and psychosocial support to learners, strong
internet connectivity as well as training of teachers in facilitating remote learning. But despite
these challenges, educators have to reach its learners whatever the changes and challenges
they may confront.
Introduction
Southern Bugasong National High School is composed of 515 students, 26 teaching,
3 non teaching personnel and headed by a school principal I. The school cater the graduates
of the barangays located in the southern part of the Municipality of Bugasong namely,
Igbalangao, Arangote, Ilaures and Bagtason and western part of the Municipality of
Valderrama namely Canipayan, Buluangan I and II and Tigmamale. Eighty percent of the
students were 4Ps beneficiaries. LESF results in the previous School year on educational
background of parents showed that 60% were not able to graduate in elementary thus
parents’ assistance in teaching their children is quite impossible. Furthermore, 85% of the
students do not have smart phones and internet connectivity in the JHS while 40% in the
SHS thus online classes and virtual meetings were hard to conduct.
However, with the commitment of teachers and strong support from the Local
Government Unit, community and stakeholders, the school were able to attain 100%
graduation rate and promotion rate and 0 % failure rate in the previous school year.
Introduction
This coming school year, with our unfailing commitment to education, the
school planning team developed this Learning Continuity Plan Plus (LCP+). The
programs, activities and projects in this LCP + is designed to achieve the prescribed
MELCS of the Department of Education for students’ academic growth. This also
includes strategies and innovations to help and provide support to students both in
academic and psychosocial aspect in this remote learning. Programs, projects and
activities which were identified to be effective in the previous LCP will still be
implemented. Likewise, this year, more innovations in facilitating remote learning and
activities that support learners which are aligned with the DepED Region VI Regional
Mantra which is “every child is a champion.” will be implemented.
