ā€¢ OCTOBER 15 ļƒ  SPRING SEMESTER (AKA ā€“
JAN START)
ā€¢ APPLY TO THE COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY
ā€¢ IF ACCEPTED, SUBMIT THE FUNDING APPLICATION
The Dual Enrollment program (formerly known as Move On When Ready/ACCEL) is a state-funded program for high school
students (public, private, and approved home-study) that provides tuition assistance in GA. Students take college classes in
lieu of high school classes and earn both high school graduation requirements and college credit simultaneously. Coursework
is performed at a participating college ā€“ and students must adhere to that collegeā€™s rules and school schedule.
THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR DE PROGRAM
ā€¢ May reduce cost of college
ā€¢ Doesnā€™t tap into HOPE
ā€¢ Have to take 4 DE courses to be Full-time
ā€¢ Only meet 2-4 times per week/per course
ā€¢ College classes typically have fewer grades
ā€¢ Only 3-4 major grades per semester
ā€¢ Not many homework grades (if any)
ā€¢ Driving time to-and-from college campus
ā€¢ Miss out on Sequoyah atmosphere & experiences
ā€¢ Not all DE credits are accepted at all colleges
ā€¢ AP courses/tests may be used for college credit
ā€¢ AP courses tend to be more rigorous
ā€¢ Part-time DE may conflict with SHS schedule
Please note: Application Deadlines vary from college to college
and may be sooner than the above form submission deadline dates
RECOVERY OPTIONS FOR FAILED COURSES

* All final decisions are at the discretion of Professional School Staff
SCHEDULE CHANGES
Schedule changes may be initiated by a student, a parent, or teacher referral within
the mandated guidelines based on course availability:
ā€¢ Prior to the first day of the course ā€“ parent/student initiated elective changes
ā€¢ Other schedule changes ā€“ within the first 10 days of the course
ā€¢ Schedules may be changed ONLY if one of the following circumstances apply:
