5. ALL SPORT PASSES
⢠Sequoyah High School will be offering All-Sport passes for Athletic
events held at Sequoyah this school year. These passes will allow the
holder admission to any Regular Season Home Event (playoffs are not
included).

10. ATTENDANCEExcuse notes (parent/guardian, doctor, etc.) must be received
in the attendance office (front office) within FIVE school days
after returning to school.
Attendance is taken in each academic class period.
Students are not permitted to leave campus during lunch
At seven or more absences (excused or unexcused) and a
passing grade in a single class, an appeal is generated,
reviewed by the Attendance Committee and approved by the
Principal before credit is awarded.
Appeals are automatically generated. An explanation of
absences may be required as part of appeal. We encourage all
students to be in school everyday, but if they need to be out,
please bring in an excuse note.

HOPE Scholarship
ďź Students must have a 3.0 GPA graduating from an eligible high school.

SCHOLARSHIP
ďś Student must have a 3.7 GPA graduating from an eligible high school.
ďś Students must have a combined 1200 SAT score (critical reading/ math only) or a
26 Composite ACT score. These test scores must come from a single test sitting.
Zell Miller Scholarship will cover tuition at
100% for an academic year at a public
Georgia college or university.
17. HOPE RIGOR INFO
Class of 2019 MUST have 4 units of Academic Rigor to be
eligible for HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarships:

⢠Scholarship information can be found on the Student Services
portion of the SHS website.
⢠Free scholarship search sites and links are located under the
resource tab under Student Services on Sequoyahâs home
page.
⢠Contact post-secondary institution Financial Aid office for
available scholarships.
⢠Check out parent or student employers, churches, clubs or civic
organizations for scholarship opportunities.
⢠Financial Aid workshop to be held at Sequoyah on
Tuesday, September 25, 2018 6:30 p.m. in the theater.
⢠Notify counseling office of any scholarships that are accepted.
20. APPLYING TO COLLEGE
⢠Check the college/ university website for admission
requirements and due dates for applications.
⢠Transcript may be requested through Parchment or
GA Futures electronically.
⢠Most 4-year colleges will require an SAT or ACT
score.
⢠Some colleges will require recommendations from
teachers and/or the counselor.

⢠Senior report approximately at 2pm
⢠No limit on number of friends and family attending.
⢠Appropriate Dress Required:
â Senior males should wear dark pants, white shirt, black
dress shoes, and black socks.
â Senior females should wear dark dress (if the dress does
not show below the gown, any color will be OK) and black
dress shoes. Low heels are recommended!
