Honors Courses
College preparatory courses offered to either prepare
students for AP Courses or where a comparable AP course

Hello! Its that time of year to select your classes. This is an important process and we encourage you to gather information and discuss with you family, teachers and counselors.

Please keep in mind that graduation requirements are based on the year you entered high school. Currently our 10th and 11th grade students have slightly different graduation requirements than 9th graders. We will briefly show these requirements but recommend further review via the Graduation Requirements section of the course catalog. A screen shot of the course catalog is seen on this slide.
A quick reminder that academic advising is the process to select your courses for next year. For most students this includes seven courses. We use your course selections to prepare for next year so please take this process seriously. After this presentation please utilize the West Potomac Student Services Academic Advising website to continue your course selection research.

We remind every year of requirements.
Important to remember that graduation requirements are based on your first year in 9th grade – for example right now we are talking to rising 9th graders about different graduation requirement so if you go to course catalog to review requirements be sure you are looking at correct ones!
