ENROLLMENT?
• State funded program that allows high school students to take college courses
• Credit is earned for both high school & college simultaneously
• 100% funding for tuition, books & mandatory fees = FREE COLLEGE
• Enrollment in DE may be full or part time
• Courses may be taken in person or on-line
• Students can take a combo of SHS and college courses
• Available Fall, Spring and Summer terms
• Available at participating GA public, private & technical colleges
• DE does NOT impact HOPE Scholarship cap hours
• No Residency Requirement

ACCELERATED
CAREER
DIPLOMA?
• Alternate path to high school graduation
• Designed for students that have already chosen a career path
• Students will be ready to work upon earning either:
• 2 Technical Certificates in one of several eligible career
pathways
• A technical diploma
• An associate degree
• Complete 9 required high school credits
• SHS Diploma is earned when BOTH 9 HS credits and the 2
certificates, diploma or associate degree requirements have been
met

• 10th= CTAE courses only
• 11-12 – Academic & CTAE
courses
• On-track to graduate in 4 years
• Colleges set specific enrollment
requirements
• Will complete the state required
23 credits and EOC
assessments
• ACCELERATED CAREER
DIPLOMA
• Students in grades 10-12
• Finished with or working on SHS
courses
• Courses are taught in person on
the COLLEGE CAMPUS –
transportation and flexible
scheduling required
• Not all pathways are available all
CTC campus locations
• Will earn at least 9 state required
credits – will not allow for
immediate transition to 4-year
college/university
5. WHY WOULD I WANT MY STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE IN DE or
ACCELERATED CAREER DIPLOMA?
• Saves lots of money – up to 30 hours (@ 10 courses) tuition,
fees & books are paid for
• College credits are not dependent upon a test score
• Ease the transition from high school to college
• Access to a wide variety of courses
• Simultaneous high school and college credit
• Students can start pursuing career goals earlier
• 1 DE semester long course typically = 1 SHS full year course
• Courses may be taken online, in person, outside typical school
hours
• Students can earn a technical diploma, technical certification
or associate’s degree

DEADLINES
• FALL 23- to begin in August, 2023 – March 31, 2023
• SPRING 24- to begin in January, 2024 - October 13, 2023
• SUMMER 24- to begin in June, 2024 - @ March 15, 2024
• Students must:
• Attend a student group info session
• Meet 1:1 with their assigned school counselor
• Complete the CCSD DE Participation Form
• Complete and Submit all PSI required docs by the
college deadlines
