Procurement Jobs in the Midlands for a Lead Buyer Educated to Degree Level, with CIPS qualification
(or studying towards)
Salary to £32k plus benefits
To be suitable for the Lead Buyers job in Procurement you will need a
 Excellent command of English with another European language preferred
 Proven experience in commodity sourcing and supplier management in a service or
engineering environment
 Knowledge of safety critical standards and parts
 Good knowledge of SAP
 Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrable track records
 Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships at all levels
 Self directed and result focused attitude
 Financial and commercial awareness
 Basic technological expertise of the commodity area and a good understanding of the
supplier marketplace
 Good level of IT literacy with knowledge of MS Office
Main duties and accountabilities will be to:
 Take advantage of group spend to optimise costs of bought out material and managing
supplier QCD performance in line with both internal and industry standards.
 Rationalise the global supplier base through evaluation of information and benchmarking of
suppliers to create commodity strategies and control the supplier base
 Liaise with Commodity Managers to determine and implement a Sourcing Strategy
 Lead purchasing activities for a family of products or suppliers on a regional level in order to
obtain competitive advantage for the local business units as well as set up and utilise the
group contracts
 Assess sourcing possibilities on regional level across the business lines in order to benefit
from potential synergies at regional level
 Support the local business procurement teams wherever needed to set up supplier contracts
and resolve any issues that need to be escalated
 Manage relationships with global suppliers and liaise with the Supplier Quality Manager in
order to constantly seek ways to improve overall supplier performance levels

2.  Develop and maintain Purchase Performance Reporting using QCD KPI’s SAP data in order to
control and analyse activity in the business.
