Job Description
Overall Purpose
Lead the implementation and operation of the overall Retail Business Development Telesales (internal
sales) function for both the existing Clients and Potential New Clients. Contribute to the overall growth
strategy of Axis Retail through insightful ideas, and wide knowledge of both the industry and
opportunity available to us. Lead the ‘cold calling’ of Potential New Clients and act as a bridge between
the Client and External Sales when handing over ‘leads’ to the Head of Business Development. Ensure
that all leads handed over are done so with appropriate supporting information and quality
consideration.
Provide a sales research function when required, and create insightful, well thought through and well
written reports on clients, sectors, geographies and opportunity areas for the Sales function.
Enhance and develop the relationships with our existing client portfolio, thereby increasing the pipeline
of existing client business, that may exist within the wider Group or within subsidiaries.
To introduce a plethora of new logo client opportunities to the business through cold-calling, marketing,
events and networking.
To broaden and deepen the Axis Retail portfolio & meet targets set annually for both new logo
business and growth of existing Clients. To create Account Plans for each prospective Client as
appropriate.
To support Axis Marketing with data from the portfolio of contacts.
To introduce suppliers, events and new ways of driving profitable growth.
To own and utilise the Axis CRM system so that all Client data is up to date, accurate and available.
Be proficient in CRM and be able to train new starters.
Key Tasks / Activities / Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities, new markets, new partnerships, new ways to reach
existing markets, or new product or service offerings to better meet the sales targets of the
business
Develop opportunities in target markets
Nurturing and developing relationships with key customer accounts and new opportunities
Attending face-to-face meetings with clients if required
Providing specialist advice on the products and/or services you’re selling
Keep standard presentation up to date and relevant
Maintain and manage the CRM system, ensuring it is up to date and accurate at all times
Expand on the delivery of the Company’s growth strategy by creating leads and project
opportunities through developing a target list for sales/tendering opportunities, in line with the
business’s growth plan and resource infrastructure
