The word Thaqalaan
■ The word Thaqalaan refers to people and jinn.
■ Both are responsible for their actions.
■ The jinn live in ruins and dirty places.
■ Their world is hidden from people .
3. Some characteristics of jinn
1. The jinn are created from fire and people usually
cannot see them.
2. They are able to choose between good and bad just
like people.
3. They have families.
4. Some of them are Muslims and others are not.
4. Surah al hijir ayah no. 26 and 27
“And we did certainly create man of
clay from altered black mud and the
jinn before from scorching fire”
5. Explanation
■ Jinn in this ayah, Allah mentions that people are
created from mud and the jinn from fire.
■ The ayah also shows that the jinn were created
before people. Jinn are also able to eat and drink.
■ The Prophet (Peace be upon him) told Muslims not
to use bones for istijmaar because it is food for the
jinn.
6. Surah al jinn ayah no. 11
■ “And among us are the righteous and among us are (
others) not so; we were (of) divided ways”
7. Activity
■ Discuss about the characteristics of jinn.
■ Discuss about the places where the jinn might live.
■ Think about the remembrances (adhkaar) that
Muslims should say for protection from jinn.

■ Group 1.Write down the things that people and jinn have in common.
■ Group 2.Write down the things that people and jinn do not have in common.

Why were theThaqalaan Created?
■Why Allah has created jinn and people?
■What is their purpose?
10. Surah al Dhaariyat.. (56)
■ “And I did not create the jinn
and mankind except to
worship me. “
11. Purpose ofTaqalaan
■ The purpose of the thaqalaan is to worship Allah and to
avoid shirk.
■ Allah sent many prophets with revelation to guide the
thaqalaan so that they may know the purpose of their
creation.
■ Allah set His message to prophets to People and jinn.
■ Some of people and jinn accepted the message and some
rejected.
12. Meaning ofWorship
■ In Arabic, the word worship means “Ibadah”.
■ The are two categories of worship.
1. Obligatory worship (We must do; that is Fard)
2. Recommended worship.

13. Obligatory Worship
1. Everyday such as Salah five times a day.
2. Every week such as Jumu’ah prayer.
3. Every year , such as fasting in Ramadhan and Zakah.
4. Once in lifetime, such as Hajj and Umrah.
14. Recommended act of worship
1.Extra prayers
2.Extra charity
3.Extra fasting
4.Dhikr ( Remembrance of Allah)
15. No shirk and no Showing off.
■ Muslim must worship Allah without committing
shirk and showing off.
■ Soorah az Zumar ayah 2: “So worship Allah,
being sincere to Him in religion.”

2. Good manners
3. Working hard
4. Greeting people
5. Helping others
