Lesson 1: Pre-Islamic Arabia (570 AD)
What kind of World was Prophet Muhammad (S) sent to?
* During this time period, there were * Hierarchy:
two Major World Powers:
Roman
Empire
Persian
Empire
Kings
Magicians
Commoners
*Roman Practice- Killing for entertainment :
- The Romans kidnapped people and forced them to
become slaves – the stronger ones became entertainers
called “Gladiators”.
- They fought other gladiators to the death, or they were
placed in an arena with wild animals.
- The audience bet on the winners and enjoyed this
bloody form of entertainment.
When Islam came, it taught that taking one life is
equivalent to taking the life of all of humanity
- Most Arabs were nomads who
constantly moved from one place to
the next.
- They did not have any land to call
their own.
The Arabs at the time were mostly nomadic tribes:
*The Arabs were engaged in constant wars-
They fought to SURVIVE
- Hunger, drought, and disease plagued the Arab tribes.
They constantly fought one another, competing for food and land.
- They were in constant blood-based revenge wars with other tribes.
- They had no formal form of government. No police, no judges, no
court system. Each tribe was responsible for protecting its members.
* The Arabs treated women like property
& didn’t give them any rights
-In some tribes, baby girls were buried alive- they went from
the womb to the grave.
-Men married countless women, who were sold, bought and
traded.
They were treated like property.
-Women couldn’t own their own land.
- There were over 300 idols around, inside and on top
of the Ka’ba.
- The Arabs had many Gods, who were worshiped for different
reasons. They had an idol for fertility, an idol for rain, an idol
for health, an idol for war, etc..
-Travel Gods : Omar Ibn Al Khattab once tells the Sahaba his pre-
Islamic story about making his own travel size God out of dates,
then eating it when he was hungry and ran out of food!
The Arabs were Idol Worshippers:
Lesson 2:
The Revelation
-He began to feel a connection
with NATURE
Lesson 2: The Revelation
The Prophet (S) began to have strange experiences
as he approached the age of 40. Allah was preparing him for
the important events that were going to happen to him.
-He began to have DREAMS
that would come true.
What did the Prophet do up there?
He filled him time with thoughts about the Universe.
Who created the Sun? The Moon? What is the purpose of life?
How can I help fix the problems around me?
This is a type of worship called TAFAKKUR (mindful thinking).
If you sit mindfully, observing the signs of Allah around you, and thinking
about his creation, you are doing worship. You would get hasanat for that!!
The Prophet (S) started to spend a lot of time alone.
He liked to sit at the top of the Mountain of Noor in Cave Hira.
His wife Khadija would climb up to the cave and bring him food
and drink. Sometimes she would stay and sit with him.
The Night of the revelation
- The first Ayat of the Quran were revealed on Laylatul Qadr-
it was a dark night and the Prophet (S) was alone
- Light appeared and extended everywhere the Prophet looked
- The Prophet saw Jibreel (AS) for the first time and was awed by him
- Jibreel grabbed the Prophet, and squeezed him 3 times
- The Prophet was ordered to read 3 times
- Jibreel recited the first 6 Ayat of Surat Al- Alaq, then disappeared
- The Prophet ran down the mountain to his home
- His wife Khadija (R) comforted and assured him
The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize that he was
being given a serious responsibility
The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize he was not
dreaming! This was nothing like the strange dreams he had been having for th
past few months.
The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize that people were
going to fight him because of this important message.
Why was the Revelation a Scary Experience?
Why was “READ” the first word?
What message is Allah sending us by using this word?
Islam ended the days of ignorance.
Knowledge gives you power.
The words of the Quran will be relatable to the future generations.
(scientific advances will be proven as mentioned in the Quran before their discovery)
People should recognize that a book of knowledge couldn’t have been written by an
illiterate man.
Thousands of books will be written just to explain this ONE book of Allah.
So much knowledge will emerge from it!
Physical Affects of Revelation:
We know from the reports of the Prophet’s wives and his
companions that whenever the prophet would receive revelation,
he would sweat, even on a cold day.
Never once did I receive a revelation
without thinking that my soul had
been torn away from me
If Jibreel came to the Prophet while he was on his
camel, the camel would sometimes physically go down
with the weight of the Quran.
When Jibreel came to him, the Prophet would hear a
loud sound that sounded like a ringing.
He would close his eyes and lower his head. He would
never forget what he heard from the angel, even after
hearing it once.
After the first revelation, Jibreel continued to visit the Prophet for 23
years until the completion of the Quran. Each revelation was a heavy
burden on the Prophet.
Why do you think Allah (S) chose for the Quran
to be revealed to an illiterate man in a cave?
Why not to the
Roman Kings?
Why not in
a fancy castle?
Islam is for everyone!! Not just for
the rich. Not just for the powerful.
Islam has humble beginnings and
encourages us to be humble!!
The Prophet (S) was an honest man from a noble family.
He had never lied and was trusted by everyone.
He was not a poet, nor could he read or write – the Quran
could not have been from his own words.
Lesson 3:
Compilation
& Preservation
Lesson 3:Complilation & Preservation
QURAN COMPONENTS:
600 PAGES
30 AJZAA (parts)
114 SUWAR
*The Quran did not come down all at once. IT TOOK 23 YEARS.
*The Ayat came down bit by bit. The came down based on:
1- The situation of the people.
2- Community problems.
3- Questions that people asked the Prophet (S).
4- Incidents that occurred.
5- The Prophet’s need for support or assurance from Allah.
(Discuss Examples)
Was the
Quran
recorded in
chronological
order??
How was the Quran recorded before
paper was invented by the Chinese?
Stone Tablets
Leather
Animal
Bones
Zaid Ibn Thabit
was in charge of a group of 24
Sahaba who wrote, collected and
complied the Quran
Tree Leaves
The Quran was mostly preserved ORALLY.
• The Arabs were mostly illiterate, so
all their traditions were oral.
• They were masters of the Arabic
language and poetry.
• Their unusually sharp memory made
the Arabs the best candidates for
preserving the Quran. History proves that the Quran has never been
changed. No words, letters, or even Harakat have
been altered.
Because it is memorized by a large portion of
Muslims, it can never be lost.
The Miraculous Quran
How is the Quran
a Miracle?
1.Preservation
Quran is the only Book that
was never changed
Quran is the only book that is
protected in the hearts of
people
Muslims are the only people
that memorize their Book
from beginning to end
2.Scientific Miracles
Predictions that were made 1400 years ago have come true.
Scientific facts that were mentioned 1400 years ago have
been recently discovered
3. Linguistic Miracles
Prophet Muhammad’s people were the perfect people to receive
this miracle because they were Arabic experts.
The grammar and words in the Quran have many meanings and
no contradictions over the 23 years in came down.
How many Books did Allah send?
What happened to them?
“ ”
The Quran has never been changed &
does not have an author.
It is the ACTUAL SPEECH of God.
- Allah sent one final Messenger (Muhammad) to the World and One final
Book (Quran) that He promised to protect until the Day of Judgment.
- For over more than 1400 years nothing in it has changed.
- If the Quran had been written by a human, there would have been
contradictions or changes in writing style over the course of the 23 years
of its revelation.
- If the Quran had been written by a human, there would have been no way
for anyone living in the Arabian Peninsula 1400 years ago to know any of
the facts we find in the Quran today.
- Let’s discover those SCIENTIFIC MIRACLES…
Lesson 4:
Scientific Miracles
Scientific Miracles:
The Quran is a Book of guidance that talks to our hearts but also our minds.
It is full of Science.
In many Ayat we are encouraged to look at the Universe to understand the
miracles of Allah.
In fact, learning about the Human Body, Medicine, the Ecosystem, the Life
Cycle, Astronomy, & Geology, should only increase your faith in the Creator
In the Quran Allah calls the sun a
“lamp” and the moon a “reflector.”
Modern Science declares this to be
true.
The Moon doesn’t provide its own
light.
It gets its light from the Sun
The Quran mentions a “protective
roof” around the Earth, which we
now know is called the “Ozone
Layer”
The Quran mentions that the Universe
continues to expand, and that sun will
extinguish one day Modern Astronomy has
proven this to be true.
The Quran mentions that the
Earth is round (spherical) and
rotates in an orbit.
The Quran mentions that the honey-bee has 2
stomachs. Scientists now know that they do, in
fact, have an extra stomach dedicated for
honey.
The Quran mentions that honey has healing properties.
Modern medicine teaches us that honey is a natural
antibiotic, which helps heal wounds and burns, and
boosts immunity and prevents scarring.
Fetal Formation in the Quran Describes
Modern-Day Embryology in detail
The Quran mentions that the
embryo, in its earliest stage looks
like a leech.
After the invention of electric
microscopes and ultrasounds this
have been proven to be true.
The Quran mentions that
hearing develops before
vision in the womb.
The Quran mentions the mountains
as pegs. Today we know that it is
the mountains that stabilize the
Earth’s plates.
Mathematical Miracles
 The Quran
mentions
that Iron
came from
outer space.
The Quran mentions how
the Universe was created,
matching up with the
“Big Bang Theory”
The Quran describes how
Allah would preserve the
Pharoah’s body after his
drowning.
This would be a lesson to
those that came after him.
-The way the Quran uses grammar is a
miracle. Historians have been studying it
for years and continuously discovering
new things.
-The Quran is full of hidden/multiple
meanings that change across
generations.
-In the Quran Allah uses a few words that
can say so much. Ex: ‫هللا‬ ‫فسيكفيكهم‬ is
translated as “And Allah will be enough
for you against them”
Linguistic Miracle:
-The Quran has sentences spelled
forward same as backwards!
EX: ‫فكبر‬ ‫ربك‬
- The Quran is the Book of Allah where
the language is still alive today!
Despite all the Arabic dialects, Pure
Fusha (proper Arabic) is still spoken and
understood all over the World.
-Allah made the Quran easy to memorize.
No other religion memorizes their Book
from beginning to end.
All over the World you will find Muslims
who are “Huffaz”, some as young as 7 & 8
years old!
A famous poet of (Al-Tufail Ibn Amr) travelled to Mecca to visit the Kaaba. Before
entering, he was approached by some enemies of Islam with some warnings. They
warned him:
To protect himself, Al-Tufail took cotton with him to cover his ears in case he came
face to face with that man.
Once he started making tawaf around the Kaaba he heard the Prophet reciting Quran,
and quickly stuffed the cotton in his ears.
Then he thought to himself: I'm the leader of my tribe! I'm the most skilled poet.
A few words will not affect me. If it’s good,
I’ll accept it and if it’s bad I’ll reject it.
He took the cotton out. He heard the sweetest words being recited.
He knew this was not poetry. He couldn’t deny the affect the words had on his heart.
He went to the Prophet and declared his Islam.
The effects that the Quran had on the enemies of Islam:
“Stay away from the Prophet or else you will become enchanted
by his sorcery. The poetry coming from his mouth is causing
people to be possessed and turning family members against one
another”
Two of the biggest enemies of Islam, Abu Jahl and
Abu Sufyan went as far as trying to ban anyone
from reading the Quran.
The truth is, they were mesmerized by the Quran
but wouldn’t admit it because they didn’t want to
change their ways and be criticized by the people.
They would wait until nighttime when the city was quiet.
They would sneak out of their homes and make their way
towards the Prophet’s house.
They would stand at his door and secretly listen to him
reciting Quran, making sure to rush back home before
morning.
They caught each other in the act night after night,
making excuses and kept promising never to go back.
Lesson 5:
Trusting the Creator
When you build a
house, you depend on
the builder to do it
right.
When you ride a
plane, you depend on
the pilot to know how
to get you to your
destination safely.
When your iPhone breaks,
you go to the Apple store
(the manufacturer that
made it).
You don’t go to the
Samsung store !
So why don’t you depend on
your Creator who created
YOU and everything in
existence??
Everything he made haram is
harmful and everything he asked
us to do is beneficial.
We aren’t just made of a body!
We have a Ruh (soul) and
Intellect too.
Just like we feed our body to
make it healthy, we must feed
our Ruh, to have a healthy heart
and spirit.
Why did Allah (S)
make things
haram?
Sometimes people go after the wrong things to make them
feel happy and fill the emptiness in their hearts:
1.Beauty People become obsessed
with their looks, but they
forget that beauty fades
and is only skin deep.
Beauty on the inside is just
as important as the beauty
on the outside.
2. Fame & Power
People will do anything to become famous
and have power over others.
They don’t realize that fame and power
come with a high price
& a lot of responsibility
3. Money
&
Material
Objects
Some people will do anything
to obtain money.
They become obsessed with
buying more of everything.
We forget that when we die,
we will leave our money
behind and take only our
actions with us
4. Partying
&
Entertainment:
Some people bury themselves
in movies, music, and partying.
We forget that our time on
Earth is limited and that when
the fun stops, our problems
will still be there.
When all those things don’t make
people happy, some resort to
GAMBLING, DRUGS, & ALCOHOL.
What is the
Solution????
There is a void in the heart that
can not be filled except with
the remembrance of Allah.
If Allah is not in our
hearts, we will never feel
happy no matter what we
do! He created us, so our
hearts fill emptiness
without Him.
Quran:
- Our Manual for Happiness
- Our guide for the correct way to live our lives
- Our “How To” Book
- Protection from evil/harm
- A way to get closer to our Creator
By reading the words He said to us-
by the reading the Quran.
Why do we think we can live on His without
reading His instructions first?
Even when we play a
board game for the first
time, we read the
instructions first.
How can we bring
Allah into our
hearts?
Kings don’t do that…
Presidents don’t do that…
Celebrities don’t do that….
But the Lord of the Worlds does that!
In the Quran, your Creator talks
directly TO YOU, and in Salah, you
talk directly TO HIM.

see our place in Jannah!
Benefits of Quran
Quran will help us cross the Sirat,
by making it wider and allowing us
to cross it faster.
3. Companion on the Sirat 4. Companion into Jenna
The best of you are those
who learn the Quran
and teach it.”
Quran will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment.
Allah (S) will tell us: “Read & Go Higher”, so we will read
all the Ayat we know, and we will go higher and higher
up into Jannah.
For every letter we recited in
this life, we will receive 10
hasanat plus.
Read and go
higher

Journey with the Quran Slideshow Presentation

  • 1. A Journey with the Quran Part I: Pre –Islamic Arabia Part II: The Revelation Part III: Compilation & Preservation Part IV: Miracles of the Quran Part V: Importance & Benefits Created by: Banan Mahmaljy Obeid
  • 2. Lesson 1: Pre-Islamic Arabia (570 AD) What kind of World was Prophet Muhammad (S) sent to? * During this time period, there were * Hierarchy: two Major World Powers: Roman Empire Persian Empire Kings Magicians Commoners
  • 3. *Roman Practice- Killing for entertainment : - The Romans kidnapped people and forced them to become slaves – the stronger ones became entertainers called “Gladiators”. - They fought other gladiators to the death, or they were placed in an arena with wild animals. - The audience bet on the winners and enjoyed this bloody form of entertainment. When Islam came, it taught that taking one life is equivalent to taking the life of all of humanity
  • 4. - Most Arabs were nomads who constantly moved from one place to the next. - They did not have any land to call their own. The Arabs at the time were mostly nomadic tribes:
  • 5. *The Arabs were engaged in constant wars- They fought to SURVIVE - Hunger, drought, and disease plagued the Arab tribes. They constantly fought one another, competing for food and land. - They were in constant blood-based revenge wars with other tribes. - They had no formal form of government. No police, no judges, no court system. Each tribe was responsible for protecting its members.
  • 6. * The Arabs treated women like property & didn’t give them any rights -In some tribes, baby girls were buried alive- they went from the womb to the grave. -Men married countless women, who were sold, bought and traded. They were treated like property. -Women couldn’t own their own land.
  • 7. - There were over 300 idols around, inside and on top of the Ka’ba. - The Arabs had many Gods, who were worshiped for different reasons. They had an idol for fertility, an idol for rain, an idol for health, an idol for war, etc.. -Travel Gods : Omar Ibn Al Khattab once tells the Sahaba his pre- Islamic story about making his own travel size God out of dates, then eating it when he was hungry and ran out of food! The Arabs were Idol Worshippers:
  • 9. -He began to feel a connection with NATURE Lesson 2: The Revelation The Prophet (S) began to have strange experiences as he approached the age of 40. Allah was preparing him for the important events that were going to happen to him. -He began to have DREAMS that would come true.
  • 10. What did the Prophet do up there? He filled him time with thoughts about the Universe. Who created the Sun? The Moon? What is the purpose of life? How can I help fix the problems around me? This is a type of worship called TAFAKKUR (mindful thinking). If you sit mindfully, observing the signs of Allah around you, and thinking about his creation, you are doing worship. You would get hasanat for that!! The Prophet (S) started to spend a lot of time alone. He liked to sit at the top of the Mountain of Noor in Cave Hira. His wife Khadija would climb up to the cave and bring him food and drink. Sometimes she would stay and sit with him.
  • 11. The Night of the revelation - The first Ayat of the Quran were revealed on Laylatul Qadr- it was a dark night and the Prophet (S) was alone - Light appeared and extended everywhere the Prophet looked - The Prophet saw Jibreel (AS) for the first time and was awed by him - Jibreel grabbed the Prophet, and squeezed him 3 times - The Prophet was ordered to read 3 times - Jibreel recited the first 6 Ayat of Surat Al- Alaq, then disappeared - The Prophet ran down the mountain to his home - His wife Khadija (R) comforted and assured him
  • 12. The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize that he was being given a serious responsibility The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize he was not dreaming! This was nothing like the strange dreams he had been having for th past few months. The harsh experience helped the Prophet (S) recognize that people were going to fight him because of this important message. Why was the Revelation a Scary Experience?
  • 13. Why was “READ” the first word? What message is Allah sending us by using this word? Islam ended the days of ignorance. Knowledge gives you power. The words of the Quran will be relatable to the future generations. (scientific advances will be proven as mentioned in the Quran before their discovery) People should recognize that a book of knowledge couldn’t have been written by an illiterate man. Thousands of books will be written just to explain this ONE book of Allah. So much knowledge will emerge from it!
  • 14. Physical Affects of Revelation: We know from the reports of the Prophet’s wives and his companions that whenever the prophet would receive revelation, he would sweat, even on a cold day. Never once did I receive a revelation without thinking that my soul had been torn away from me If Jibreel came to the Prophet while he was on his camel, the camel would sometimes physically go down with the weight of the Quran. When Jibreel came to him, the Prophet would hear a loud sound that sounded like a ringing. He would close his eyes and lower his head. He would never forget what he heard from the angel, even after hearing it once. After the first revelation, Jibreel continued to visit the Prophet for 23 years until the completion of the Quran. Each revelation was a heavy burden on the Prophet.
  • 15. Why do you think Allah (S) chose for the Quran to be revealed to an illiterate man in a cave? Why not to the Roman Kings? Why not in a fancy castle? Islam is for everyone!! Not just for the rich. Not just for the powerful. Islam has humble beginnings and encourages us to be humble!! The Prophet (S) was an honest man from a noble family. He had never lied and was trusted by everyone. He was not a poet, nor could he read or write – the Quran could not have been from his own words.
  • 17. Lesson 3:Complilation & Preservation QURAN COMPONENTS: 600 PAGES 30 AJZAA (parts) 114 SUWAR *The Quran did not come down all at once. IT TOOK 23 YEARS. *The Ayat came down bit by bit. The came down based on: 1- The situation of the people. 2- Community problems. 3- Questions that people asked the Prophet (S). 4- Incidents that occurred. 5- The Prophet’s need for support or assurance from Allah. (Discuss Examples) Was the Quran recorded in chronological order??
  • 18. How was the Quran recorded before paper was invented by the Chinese? Stone Tablets Leather Animal Bones Zaid Ibn Thabit was in charge of a group of 24 Sahaba who wrote, collected and complied the Quran Tree Leaves
  • 19. The Quran was mostly preserved ORALLY. • The Arabs were mostly illiterate, so all their traditions were oral. • They were masters of the Arabic language and poetry. • Their unusually sharp memory made the Arabs the best candidates for preserving the Quran. History proves that the Quran has never been changed. No words, letters, or even Harakat have been altered. Because it is memorized by a large portion of Muslims, it can never be lost.
  • 20. The Miraculous Quran How is the Quran a Miracle? 1.Preservation Quran is the only Book that was never changed Quran is the only book that is protected in the hearts of people Muslims are the only people that memorize their Book from beginning to end 2.Scientific Miracles Predictions that were made 1400 years ago have come true. Scientific facts that were mentioned 1400 years ago have been recently discovered 3. Linguistic Miracles Prophet Muhammad’s people were the perfect people to receive this miracle because they were Arabic experts. The grammar and words in the Quran have many meanings and no contradictions over the 23 years in came down.
  • 21. How many Books did Allah send? What happened to them?
  • 22.
  • 24.
  • 25. The Quran has never been changed & does not have an author. It is the ACTUAL SPEECH of God. - Allah sent one final Messenger (Muhammad) to the World and One final Book (Quran) that He promised to protect until the Day of Judgment. - For over more than 1400 years nothing in it has changed. - If the Quran had been written by a human, there would have been contradictions or changes in writing style over the course of the 23 years of its revelation. - If the Quran had been written by a human, there would have been no way for anyone living in the Arabian Peninsula 1400 years ago to know any of the facts we find in the Quran today. - Let’s discover those SCIENTIFIC MIRACLES…
  • 27. Scientific Miracles: The Quran is a Book of guidance that talks to our hearts but also our minds. It is full of Science. In many Ayat we are encouraged to look at the Universe to understand the miracles of Allah. In fact, learning about the Human Body, Medicine, the Ecosystem, the Life Cycle, Astronomy, & Geology, should only increase your faith in the Creator
  • 28. In the Quran Allah calls the sun a “lamp” and the moon a “reflector.” Modern Science declares this to be true. The Moon doesn’t provide its own light. It gets its light from the Sun The Quran mentions a “protective roof” around the Earth, which we now know is called the “Ozone Layer” The Quran mentions that the Universe continues to expand, and that sun will extinguish one day Modern Astronomy has proven this to be true. The Quran mentions that the Earth is round (spherical) and rotates in an orbit.
  • 29. The Quran mentions that the honey-bee has 2 stomachs. Scientists now know that they do, in fact, have an extra stomach dedicated for honey. The Quran mentions that honey has healing properties. Modern medicine teaches us that honey is a natural antibiotic, which helps heal wounds and burns, and boosts immunity and prevents scarring.
  • 30.
  • 31. Fetal Formation in the Quran Describes Modern-Day Embryology in detail The Quran mentions that the embryo, in its earliest stage looks like a leech. After the invention of electric microscopes and ultrasounds this have been proven to be true. The Quran mentions that hearing develops before vision in the womb.
  • 32. The Quran mentions the mountains as pegs. Today we know that it is the mountains that stabilize the Earth’s plates. Mathematical Miracles
  • 33.  The Quran mentions that Iron came from outer space.
  • 34. The Quran mentions how the Universe was created, matching up with the “Big Bang Theory” The Quran describes how Allah would preserve the Pharoah’s body after his drowning. This would be a lesson to those that came after him.
  • 35. -The way the Quran uses grammar is a miracle. Historians have been studying it for years and continuously discovering new things. -The Quran is full of hidden/multiple meanings that change across generations. -In the Quran Allah uses a few words that can say so much. Ex: ‫هللا‬ ‫فسيكفيكهم‬ is translated as “And Allah will be enough for you against them” Linguistic Miracle: -The Quran has sentences spelled forward same as backwards! EX: ‫فكبر‬ ‫ربك‬
  • 36. - The Quran is the Book of Allah where the language is still alive today! Despite all the Arabic dialects, Pure Fusha (proper Arabic) is still spoken and understood all over the World. -Allah made the Quran easy to memorize. No other religion memorizes their Book from beginning to end. All over the World you will find Muslims who are “Huffaz”, some as young as 7 & 8 years old!
  • 37. A famous poet of (Al-Tufail Ibn Amr) travelled to Mecca to visit the Kaaba. Before entering, he was approached by some enemies of Islam with some warnings. They warned him: To protect himself, Al-Tufail took cotton with him to cover his ears in case he came face to face with that man. Once he started making tawaf around the Kaaba he heard the Prophet reciting Quran, and quickly stuffed the cotton in his ears. Then he thought to himself: I'm the leader of my tribe! I'm the most skilled poet. A few words will not affect me. If it’s good, I’ll accept it and if it’s bad I’ll reject it. He took the cotton out. He heard the sweetest words being recited. He knew this was not poetry. He couldn’t deny the affect the words had on his heart. He went to the Prophet and declared his Islam. The effects that the Quran had on the enemies of Islam: “Stay away from the Prophet or else you will become enchanted by his sorcery. The poetry coming from his mouth is causing people to be possessed and turning family members against one another”
  • 38. Two of the biggest enemies of Islam, Abu Jahl and Abu Sufyan went as far as trying to ban anyone from reading the Quran. The truth is, they were mesmerized by the Quran but wouldn’t admit it because they didn’t want to change their ways and be criticized by the people. They would wait until nighttime when the city was quiet. They would sneak out of their homes and make their way towards the Prophet’s house. They would stand at his door and secretly listen to him reciting Quran, making sure to rush back home before morning. They caught each other in the act night after night, making excuses and kept promising never to go back.
  • 40. When you build a house, you depend on the builder to do it right.
  • 41.
  • 42. When you ride a plane, you depend on the pilot to know how to get you to your destination safely.
  • 43. When your iPhone breaks, you go to the Apple store (the manufacturer that made it). You don’t go to the Samsung store ! So why don’t you depend on your Creator who created YOU and everything in existence??
  • 44. Everything he made haram is harmful and everything he asked us to do is beneficial. We aren’t just made of a body! We have a Ruh (soul) and Intellect too. Just like we feed our body to make it healthy, we must feed our Ruh, to have a healthy heart and spirit. Why did Allah (S) make things haram?
  • 45. Sometimes people go after the wrong things to make them feel happy and fill the emptiness in their hearts: 1.Beauty People become obsessed with their looks, but they forget that beauty fades and is only skin deep. Beauty on the inside is just as important as the beauty on the outside.
  • 46. 2. Fame & Power People will do anything to become famous and have power over others. They don’t realize that fame and power come with a high price & a lot of responsibility
  • 47. 3. Money & Material Objects Some people will do anything to obtain money. They become obsessed with buying more of everything. We forget that when we die, we will leave our money behind and take only our actions with us
  • 48. 4. Partying & Entertainment: Some people bury themselves in movies, music, and partying. We forget that our time on Earth is limited and that when the fun stops, our problems will still be there.
  • 49. When all those things don’t make people happy, some resort to GAMBLING, DRUGS, & ALCOHOL. What is the Solution????
  • 50. There is a void in the heart that can not be filled except with the remembrance of Allah. If Allah is not in our hearts, we will never feel happy no matter what we do! He created us, so our hearts fill emptiness without Him.
  • 51. Quran: - Our Manual for Happiness - Our guide for the correct way to live our lives - Our “How To” Book - Protection from evil/harm - A way to get closer to our Creator By reading the words He said to us- by the reading the Quran. Why do we think we can live on His without reading His instructions first? Even when we play a board game for the first time, we read the instructions first. How can we bring Allah into our hearts?
  • 52. Kings don’t do that… Presidents don’t do that… Celebrities don’t do that…. But the Lord of the Worlds does that! In the Quran, your Creator talks directly TO YOU, and in Salah, you talk directly TO HIM.
  • 53. 1. Companion in this Life -Quran is our instruction manual on how to live happy and successful lives as individuals and as communities. -Quran has solutions to all our problems. -Quran protects us from evil and harm and can cure diseases with the will of Allah (S). 2. Companion in the Grave -Quran will come to us in our graves as a companion. - Our vision will expand as far as the eye can see and we will see our place in Jannah! Benefits of Quran
  • 54. Quran will help us cross the Sirat, by making it wider and allowing us to cross it faster. 3. Companion on the Sirat 4. Companion into Jenna The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” Quran will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment. Allah (S) will tell us: “Read & Go Higher”, so we will read all the Ayat we know, and we will go higher and higher up into Jannah. For every letter we recited in this life, we will receive 10 hasanat plus. Read and go higher
