Groups exist in every organization and that effect the
behavior of people working in that organization
.Therefore, the managers should understand, structure
,process the behavior of groups to manage them
effectively.
Human beings exhibit some characteristic behavior
pattern in group .People involved in managing groups
and groups members themselves can benefit from
studying theories and doing practical exercises which
help them to better understand people behavior in
groups and groups dynamics.
3. Definition of group: collection of people who
interact with one another, accept right and
obligations as a members and who share a
common identity.
A group consist of two or more persons in a
state of social interaction.

Definition of Group Dynamics : It is the
interaction that influence the attitudes and
behavior of people when they are grouped with
others through either choice or accidental
circumstances .The study of such interactions are
group dynamics.
4. STAGE III –NORMING:
In this stage interpersonal relations are characterized by
cohesion. Group members are engaged in active
acknowledgment of all member’s contributions.
During this stage people begin to experience a sense of
group belonging and a feeling of relief as a result of
resolving interpersonal conflicts.
The major task of this stage is data flow between group
members. They share feelings and ideas, give feed back
to one another , and explore actions related to the task.
Creativity is high and they feel good about being part
of an effective group.
5. To summarize this stage, it occurs when
resistance is overcome and conflicts are
resolved. Group roles are clarified and the
leader established. Members begin to feel
included. Recognition of the value of different
contribution grows and real performance
begins.
