1. Costume and Props For costume and props we are going to use stuff that applies to the conventions of the style of social realism. Using costume to create stereotypes is commonly used in social realism because it is a quick and simple way to get the point across to the audience. Also the props are important because they provide the audience with information as to what the characters are doing.
2. Costume- Upper body We decided to use my hoodie for the upper body because it is very stereotypical for teenagers to wear hoodies and it is seen as threatening and stereotypes is a key convention in social realism.
3. Costume- Lower Body We chose to use jeans because it is very ordinary and it is worn quite a lot in this society so it applies to the conventions of social realism. Also for the trainers we used skateboarding trainers because it again is stereotypical.
4. Prop We are using this Bag of ‘cocaine’ (actually flour) in the scene where our main character is dealing with a customer. This is very important because we are going to have to some way show that our character is caught up in the drugs trade.
