What is Landslides ?
 A landslide, also known as a landslip, is a
geographical phenomenon that includes a wide range of
ground movements, such as rock falls, deep failure of
slopes and shallow debris flows.
 Landslides are among the many natural disasters
causing massive destructions and loss of lives across the
globe.
 It is one of the natural hazards and it is mostly found
in hilly area.

1) Slipping of one or several units of rock
debris with a backward rotation with
respect to the slope over which the
movement takes place.
2) Rapid rolling or sliding of earth debris
without backward rotation of mass is
known as debris slide.
3) Nearly the free fall of earth debris from
a vertical or overhanging face.
4) Sliding of individual rock masses down
bedding, joint or fault surface is rockslide.
Over steep slopes, rock sliding is very fast
and destructive.
5) Rock fall is free falling of rock blocks
over any steep slope keeping itself away
from the slope.
