High School Class Holocaust Blog Lesson
1. A. The class is made up of 25 high school juniors, with 16 of them being males and 9 being
females. Three of the students have mild ADHD, but there are no severe learning disabilities.
The class is 85% white, 10% African American, and 5% Latino.
S. The class will learn about the Holocaust. There will be a short lecture followed by an activity
in which student will use Blogger to create their own blog about it. Students will have the
freedom to choose what they write about, but it must pertain to the Holocaust and be factual.
Students will demonstrate 85% knowledge on the subject by the end of the day.
S. For the lecture students will just need paper and something to take notes with. For the Blogger
portion of the lesson, the students will need access to a computer and a Google account, which
they made earlier in the week.
U. The teacher will write the lecture. The teacher will also make sure that all of the students have
the proper credentials to log into the Blogger.
The teacher will have to book the computer lab for his class so that they have enough computers
for the Blogger portion of class.
R. All students will take part in the lecture by taking notes and listening. After the lecture, all
students will need to start a blog on Blogger about whatever topic they choose pertaining to the
Holocaust.
E. The students will be assessed on their knowledge with a discussion at the end of class. The
students will give the teacher the address to their blogs so that he may grade them. This will be
the main part of the assessment for today because it looks at class material and critical thinking
skills.
